  • This is by far the biggest running session ever filmed at Goodford Model Railway. It includes almost every piece of rolling stock and loco currently available to the railway, all of which is modern era from around the year 2020.
    You’ll notice I’ve not done the normal written caption commentary of what is happening as it is primarily self explanatory and simply running trains round both sides of the layout.
    Stock features train types you’d be likely to see on the GWR in 2020 including steel, TEA tankers, ballast workings, nuclear traffic, test trains, engineers trains, china clay, drags of scrap coaches, DVT and EMU’s and of course, plenty of passenger services from Arriva Cross Country and GWR.
    Regular viewers of the channel will hopefully notice I’ve been busy doing the scenery and the layout looks quite different since the last running session with almost all scenery done behind the tracks.
    Hope you like the update and as always, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have if you drop a comment on the video.

    Absolutely inspirational video, so many brilliant workings here and the layout looks incredible. Love the triple colas 37s, or the DVT rake, as well as the 350 being delivered/moved with those Rail Adventure Cargowaggon barriers and so much more… Wonderful video, thanks very much for sharing 👍👍👍

    A fantastic layout and a super realistic running session. Well done! Do you have off scene storage sidings or are you having to swop trains between shots? Hugh.

      Thanks for your kind comment, there are 16 fiddle yard tracks off shot so half way through the session I had to swap most trains out for others.

      Thanks Mark, I like to try and stick to formations that can be seen on the real thing. I have a DB class 59 on order with Dapol, looking forward to that coming out - hopefully later this year. I’ll try and do another pure running session soon. 👍

      You're absolutely welcome Sir, I enjoyed your video of your fine layout. I forgot to ask which road system did you use for your Ford van driving around the layout, Faller or Magnarail? Great work!

    • @GoodfordModelRailway
      @GoodfordModelRailway  3 года назад +1

      @@bhigdaddymark it’s the faller road system. Need to add a couple more vehicles at some point but they’re so expensive and new trains seem to take up more than the available funds already! 😂

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
      Welcome to model railroading/railway as it continues to get more and more expensive. I returned to the hobby after a 36 year break in 2011 going from N-gauge to HO and O-scale then adding OO-gauge when I discovered it in 2015 and all that I currently have in OO-gauge is (in order of acquisition) the Hornby Virgin Pendolino Class 390, Bachmann Virgin Super Voyager Class 221, Bachmann Desiro Apollo Link Class 350 (#2 favourite set) and my absolute FAVOURITE OO-gauge set, the Bachmann London Underground S-Stock set (sadly, I stupidly only got four cars and now can't find an additional four cars). Thus far since 2011, I've invested upwards of $18K in model railroading and I STILL have a long list of trains to buy, particularly in OO-gauge but the exchange rate murders me financially. Fortunately I'm not the father of a dependent child as my son is now 37 years old and just became engaged so I've been able to when I'm free to do so, funnel some money into the hobby so I know EXACTLY what you're going through, but we MUST forge on lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Hi, what a great layout, I'm wondering why RUclips kept it a secret from me for so long! I especially liked the long sweeping curves where the road crossing is...............The consist with the Class 66 hauling the EMU was a nice touch, giving you the chance to have something on the layout which shouldn't really be there. I really thought you had a very nice variety of stock on the layout, not my period, but I still appreciate a good layout when I see one, and yours is wonderful. Going to go away and check out the rest of your content, and add a sub too! Many thanks and all the best Dave.

      @learningoogauge3452 3 года назад

      @@GoodfordModelRailway haha yeah I think remembering is most likely. I recently got a NR DVT the red lights are ok but the forward lights have horrific bleed, I think I'll need to paint the interior of the DVT black

    • @GoodfordModelRailway
      @GoodfordModelRailway  3 года назад +1

      @@learningoogauge3452 good idea or maybe some black electrical masking tape would do the trick. I only ever run in drag as per the video so don’t see the light bleed 👍

      @@GoodfordModelRailway I run mine with a DB 67 and 2 mk2 coaches so in theory I should be able to do push pull but my layout is the standard hornby R2-R4 radius curves on which almost every loco I have will cause any wagon it pushes to derail so I currently only need drag thankfully.
