    The fact that he can still remain focused and coherent and delivers his message that clearly while his body is intertwined with hers, tells you he's a pro... 😁

    knee on hair is truly good technique and 50% of the time it works every time. Thank you for well explained and detailed video, working on my ghost escape and had a lot of success with it.

      not sure it's such a great technique if it only works everytime 50% of the time. :P

    The Ghost and wedding sweep have become a big part of my game. It's a lot of fun letting someone think they are getting into a good position and then sweeping them or ghosting out.

    Ghost escape has two doors (as explained by coach Brian in the video series), I found out that shifting the pressure from one door to another helps with escaping as your opponent must readjust to your switch everytime and that leaves a quick opening to either go to darce, front head lock..etc or reversal crucifix by pulling on their waist and going tummy down. Great escape and at the very least you get your open guard back.

    Brian, I watched your first ghost escape video about two years ago and tried it on the mats. It didn't work, but after constantly trying it and perservering with the technique it is now my favorite and goto escape from side control. it;s unstoppable, but, as you say you need to practice it. thank you Brian, you have taught me a lot. next step is getting the darce from it!

    I’ve had a ton of success with the ghost thanks to your videos. It’s definitely better for no-gi but gi burns on your face do look pretty badass. I’ve found that pushing with my forearm (the arm that eventually gets the chin strap) behind the opponents head to keep it close to the mat as I circle through to finish the ghost typically inhibits them from being able to bring their far arm across when they try to establish side control on the other side.

    I love the move, but I am also not too good at the movement. Also I often lose the head at the end, so no darce for me...
    I am definatly gonna try this, as it comes from a fluent motion and not as an escape from a static position. Maybe I can catch my opponent unawares :D
    Thanks coach and greetings from germany!

    Yeah brother I never have a problem doing this movie I think it’s just because it Wrestling we do head spins and no one ever walks around like that. The reason why is because their hip drops to the side.... if they can stay up on their knees yeah they can walk around, but that doesn’t happen.

    Megan is a boss, but on the crucifix did she tie up that right arm correctly? She could be setting up a reverse omoplata? Was the right leg supposed to be on top? What are your thoughts Sensai Peterson?

    HI there,
    love your videos. I used to box but now i somehow got on that wrestling/BJJ bandwagon. I wanna start something new, but don't really know what i should do. Tbh I can't destinct the two sports from each other yet (when it comes to groundwork). Is this merely for wrestling or BJJ. Could you please explain what you can do for which sports in your videos for the beginners, so I can have some destinction. Please keep'em up!
    btw. any recommendations whether I should start BJJ or wrestling?!
    greetings from Switzerland!

    • @raulrusboy
      @raulrusboy 5 лет назад +1

      Definitely go with BJJ... Wrestling is a good sport to come from, but it's not a fighting system; it's purely sport.

    • @TheBriRu
      @TheBriRu 5 лет назад

      @@raulrusboy thx a lot for answering. Could you further explain what you mean by sport and not fighting system.

    • @raulrusboy
      @raulrusboy 5 лет назад +1

      wrestling teaches you how to take someone down, and get them on their back. It focuses on doing so safely, and there are a lot of rules you have to learn and follow. Like I said, it’s super good to come from and transition to BJJ, but if you’re looking for a life skill/fighting ability, BJJ will teach you the important and skip the mostly worthless stuff from wrestling, and teach you all the useful stuff you can’t do in wrestling- submissions, dangerous throws, and useful grips, for example
      BJJ also teaches you how to relax during a fight/match, something I’m still working on more than two months in.
      Speaking of, I do have a Disclaimer: I wrestled for three years in high school, but never won any state titles, and am still an absolute novice in BJJ. So if anyone disagrees and/or feels more qualified to answer, feel free ;)

    While doing the ghost I’m getting countered by a forearm in the neck and then breaking the grip, should I be pinning my head to my opponent’s body?

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  4 года назад +1

      100%! Don’t start executing it if they have a forearm in your neck. Start earlier and keep your head as tight as needed. 🤙

    2:25 Why dont they secure the right arm across the body, or even neck when you Ghost-out? So you are front single-arm bear hug over the North South Position? The arm can always slip before the Darce is applied!
