- I knew it was too good to be true when I felt pretty good on this run. If it's not the humidity, it's something else. Hopefully all of these tough marathon training runs will have me better prepared for the Chicago Marathon!

I did a 2.5 mile run on a track (yes, it sucks!) while listening to the 52nd episode of your podcast (first time listening). I’m more of a slow jogger than a run (lucky if I hit a 16 minute mile), but I just started and never thought I could since I struggled to catch my breath, but slowing down helps. Running my first official 5K on Thanksgiving with my 9 yo grandson.
I love this comment! Thank you! And I love that you listened to the podcast while you ran. You're going to have an amazing 5k!
Definitely good timing to get your period now and not on race day. Get it!!!!
So true! I'm thankful for that.
“My nose is running, fall is here” I relate to this so much, I am the EXACT same way! And, you know, the seasonal depression.
It's so sad when the realization hits lol
It’s so nice that your husband comes with you. The two of you also have a good rapport. I cried when I got home after a 10 mile run once. I had plantar fasciitis and my foot was killing me. I guess we need to channel our inner David Goggins.
Oh that must have been so painful! And yes I enjoy it more when Dan is with. It's nice to have some distractions and laughs
Honestly this is such a help for me to watch.
I'm training for my first ever half marathon in December and hearing you say that it's hard and experiencing things like this during training is so relatable!
Sometimes I feel like I'm not going fast enough and it will take me so long on the day but I just have to do my best and trust in my body.
The mental game is honestly the hardest part for me. Having to shut out the voice that says I need to stop or I can't do it is a challenge and a half for me at all times.
I know you'll do so well on your marathon and I'm excited to see you complete it!! 💪🥰
Yes so much of it is mental! I know I'll reach a point where I just don't feel like running anymore and I'll try walking and then quickly realize this will just make it take even longer lol
Oh that inner turmoil of "I'll walk when I get to that bit....urgh but that means it will take longer to get home" is always at some pivotal point for me too!
Sometimes I just need to tell myself that my body is capable of doing this and my mind needs to hush 😅
I heard somewhere “If it hurts to walk and it hurts to run, you may as well run” whiiiich is kind of true at some point! To your point at least running makes the ridiculousness end a little sooner 🙃
Awesome work!! I love the pure honesty! “You have a uterus for a day. “😂😂😂
Id like to see that much lol
It’s definitely not annoying 😮…. You help so many of us push along ❤
you'll do great in Chicago! I got injured during training for my second marathon and ended up with 18 miles as my longest training run. I was really glad I had already done one marathon - even though it was over a year before - because at least I knew my body had done the distance. i ended up feeling pretty great for the race (races are just fun, anyway) even though the last few miles were hard (the last few miles are hard, anyway). just enjoy the course and the crowds and take it one mile at a time!
Thank you! I need to remember I did it before and that it won't last forever!
I started watching your videos three years ago, honestly, you disappeared from my recommended for a while after that but I was always a subscriber. Seeing you pop back up and seeing how far you have come since then is so inspiring. I am so freaking proud of you. And seeing your subscriber count continue to climb, truly brings a smile onto my face.❤❤
Wow, thank you! The support means a lot to me. These three years have been a whirlwind!
Good luck in Chicago! It’s going to be awesome. Trust your training, the race is just the icing on the cake now! 🎉
Well done on another long run Erin. I hope it’s given you more than a ‘spec’ of confidence 👍🏻😊
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for posting your videos! They have really helped me push myself with running. I always said I wasn’t a runner because it wasn’t easy and I always felt slow with my pace. Changed my perspective because of you! Keep on going!
Sometimes we all need to change our perspective on things! So glad you're able to continue pushing forward!
Always inspirational 🖤 running teaches us that sometimes things suck until you get to the good part but you have to get through the struggle first 🤘
So true!
I felt all of this. It's all part of the running journey (it has it's ups and downs) just like life. Hang in there!
your bird sounds were so good lol
🙌🏼 I struggle to run straight too
I need to figure out why I don't run straight I guess lol
@@MrsSpaceCadet please share when you do. Because I need all the help I can get 🤦🏼♀️
Oh, just noticed the channel name change. I'll miss the Mrs. Space Cadet name, but understand why. Good luck in Chicago!
Ok this might be tmi but was it actually period cramps? When I was training for my first and only marathon I got cramps that felt like period cramps too but it wasn’t my period! I eventually thought I had some kind of pelvic floor cramping or something? Any way, good luck out theaiirr 🙏🙌🙌
Have you ever read or listened to anything from Stacy Sims? Your hormone phases might have a lot to do with feeling crummy on last weeks’ long run.
It’s called Dreadmill and it’s to be avoided at All Costs
That is the beauty of being a female runner over 50… no more periods. And running helps with hot flashes, counter intuitive but true for me.
Where the heck do you live??? It’s beautiful there!
Pennsylvania :)
Mabe hydrate more the day prior, in my opinion your drinking way to much during your run, that's just my humble opinion, everyone's different
Wait.. whose watching the kiddos at home. Can't be the dog can it?
