Bloody good job Tim, it’s great to it running as it should. I was almost ready to get you when I thought you had forgotten to put the thermal paste back on 😂 Nice job mate.

It's bloomin' expensive stuff, considering the entire tube holds less paste than you'd put on a toothbrush!

I have two Plus/4s. The only single reason I don't like them (compared to C16s) too much is the very tight case, which makes adding adapter boards very hard, also it can be a thermal problem to have such a tight case (maybe it also leads for easier death of the chips inside a Plus/4 than a C16) ... I also have some C16s, with memory expansion to 64K, almost the same as a Plus/4, but much comfortable, and bigger cases, also the keyboard feels better somehow, at least in my opinion. But anyway, this is only one reason, I still like my Plus/4s as well.

Don't have a C16...yet. But I think the case design is incredibly boring and unimaginitive - just bung it in a repurposed C64 case & paint it black. The Plus/4 case is a polar opposite AND its keyboard is much nicer imho - less uncomfortable to type on. My fingers always hurt after an hour typing on the C64! But yes I agree, it's really cramped inside the Plus/4. But then I don't think when it was designed, they imagined we be modding it almost 40 years into the future!

@@TimsRetroCorner I agree about the design (or lack of, and re-using C64/VIC-20 style). I only speak on the practicality side of things, that's all. In my experience at least, chips tend to die sooner inside a Plus/4 than a C16 and what I can imagine is because the thermal issues on a much smaller and tight case. Also the practicality side that I have room in a C16 case to add things like you've described in this video without the need to worry that you don't have room. But I agree, that a Plus/4 case design is unique and thus "better" from an appearance/design point of view. But I guess I am not objective here, since when I was child, before getting my own C64 I was in a "computer camp" where we had a class-room of C16s. So maybe I am more biased over a C16 than I should be ;)

Yes, please show the 6502 board and the increased memory on the other Plus/4. there are a lot more 6502s available than 6510s.

I have one on order. It's called a "6502 Plus 4" board Once it arrives I'll get my other Plus/4 on the bench, and do a comparison.
