oh Kiki! there's something on the war table called The Black Emporium - you can go here to edit your character at any time just like in DA2, but i *strongly* advise you don't interact with it or at the very least don't read its description until after a certain point in the story. you'll know when it comes. it's spoilery for the villain. just letting you know!
ooh, you went with an elf! exciting! this game can be quite bloated with side content and collectibles, so don't feel like you have to do all of it. if you want to focus on the story then go for it, if you want to take time off camera to do the side content, then do that! if you want to skip side content that doesn't feel important so you don't get burnt out, then do it. however you want to play, we'll be down for it 💜
Kiki, so excited for this! One piece of advice I'd give for this game is to take your time. Even if it means you play off stream or have 60+ episodes, do as much as you want to do because this game is so vast and full of little secrets and tidbits. Don't waste your first playthrough worrying at all about how long it's taking you. Enjoy yourself!
Your instincts have been so on point, even during the Origins playthrough. I'd echo other's people advice and say take your time and explore everything! You have until Oct 31st for Veilguard anyway, might as well lol
Just a small tip in case no one else has mentioned it, as you are used to playing a mage. Playing as a dagger rogue especially you have to be mindful of your characters position when fighting. Dual wield rogues get a flanking damage bonus for attacking their opponents from behind. I stealth at the start of every fight before I engage, face an opponents back, then Twin fangs them. Then let Cassandra or whoever is your warrior get a couple licks in until the monster turns to face them, then attack your opponent from behind, your damage will more than double. Dual wield rogues pump out the highest damage by far, so take advantage. Just an FYI
Oh, also, maybe a fun tidbit for your character backstory--you picked the vallaslin (the Dalish face tattoos) dedicated to/inspired by the Elven God Sylaise! The God of the home, hearth, and fire. All things cozy and domestic. So there you go 😊
YESYESYESSSS. Not kidding when I say I've been soooo excited for this playthrough, I've been checking your channel every day. This is my favorite game of all time and I'm so excited that more people get to experience it.
Inquisition is here!!! Finally. Brace yourself up. I'm sure you will love this one. Oh, and you can turn off the helmet in the options menu. It will also be good to enable dialogue subtitles so as to not miss out on companions banter.
I think Dehnyla was the name of the wife of the Dalish hunter in the Brecilian forest who was turning into a werewolf and she begged u to kill her instead of tellng her husband how she ended up,,,,,
Kill everything that is hostile, use the heights to stay out of reach of enemies, chat with npc's in your bases and save the game often. You will do great, it will be fun to watch your episodes.
supply chest refills your health potions to full amount, arriving at camp and arriving on an map will also refill them. Teleport around the map and the world, just click and go.
Kiki I wanted you to know I’ve been watching these playthroughs with so much enjoyment! As a longtime DA fan it’s so fun to watch someone else fall in love with it too. I can’t wait to watch your Inquisition story play out in time for Veilguard!!! ❤
Thank you so much for coming on this journey with me! I must say these games hold such a special place in my heart and im so invested I just can't seem to get enough 😊
Excited to see you get started. Your name seems a lot like a certain elf who became cursed with Lycanthropy in the Brecillian forest. Kiki is outrageously intuitive, that's all I'm going to say. You will notice that you sometimes get a blue line over your health bar during a fight that slowly goes down. That's Solas giving you a barrier which stops you taking any health damage until it disappears. It is a literal life saver, because everyone is very squishy in this game and you can get one hit killed by stronger enemies, and barrier soaks up the entire hit. You will also see silver blocks covering Cassandra's health bar, that's called block and it also prevents health damage while it's there. Cassandra has abilities that create stacks of block. Eventually you will be able to craft weapons that apply block on your health bar if you want it.
As someone who leans toward (human) mages but will explore other races/classes sometimes, I'm so glad you didn't choose a fem elf mage for entertainment purposes. Yt is full of playthroughs of those. It's nice to see something even slightly different.
@kiki_maliki Understood; you mentioned already being warned about that in the 2nd video I believe. You also seem to have corrected the import issue, so the only default advice left is "focus on the main story until act 2 before worrying about side missions" (they admitted it was a design mistake to unlock so much side content - Hinterlands - before all the game mechanics are even unlocked). I am now out of useful things to say. Fun playthrough so far, though. 🙂
Kiki you're crazyyyyy I cannot believe you've actually played these 3 games back to back, so happy you've been enjoying them!! So fun seeing people experiencing this stuff for the 1st time
Please turn on the subtitles to make it easier to understand and review what was said. I think only the concluding sentences of the dialogues appear. If that's not your thing, so be it. Oh, you mentioned that you find it annoying to get close to loot in order to collect it. Prepare your patience and sanity if you are inclined to collect everything you can in the scenario, as there is no shortage of "opportunities" to collect all sorts of items, herbs, minerals, animal skins etc.
Hey Kiki! Hope you're enjoying Inquisition :D I'm surprised you didn't notice but I wanted to share a fun fact - The nightmare difficulty tarot card depicts Duncan! The art direction for this game is one of its highlights. The tarot card artstyle for companions and codex entries is lovely to look at.
Welcome to Dragon Age: Inquisition, Kiki! I had thought you'd play a Qunari but Dhenyla is super cute! The reason people keep calling her the "Herald of Andraste" is because the Conclave was held in the Temple of Sacred Ashes. As in, the temple Elhara and friends visited in Origins to get Andraste's ashes for the sickly Arl Eamon. It was supposed to be sacred ground, so the mages, templars, and chantry could hold a political meeting to discuss peacetalks without bloodshed. When Dhenyla survived with the help of that mysterious glowing figure, people assume it was Andraste protecting you. Thus, you're her herald. Also, helmet visibility is in settings 👍
Hello kiki very excited for this lets play, For looting, closing breeches, using latters, etc. instead of click on them when close you could use the F button :)
Given how terrible people are about hinting towards spoilers I think playing a month in advance is a good idea, although possibly not enough time to avoid all of them giving this games size, lol.
@@FabledAllOut OH! For real! I didnt thought about that! Havnt i see you also in the comment section of "Shenannigan" ? Hehe But then maybe she didnt red soon enough that she needs to avoid the description of the "Black Imperium" on the Map :( Because it spoilers...
@@ProjectAyumiie I'm not sure who Shenannigan is, so I don't think so! Although maybe it was a while ago and I forgot. Yeah, I hope she managed to avoid the Black Emporium for long enough. That spoiler is real dumb.
@@FabledAllOut it is! And they could patch it out SO EASY :( .... Lets hope And Shen is also a Lets player who is playing Dragon Age Also for the first time! Right now playing DA 2 :) I thought i saw you there XD
So excited to see you play Inquisition. I love playing as an elf too. I would always play ranged either a rouge or mage since that is their bonus. This game dwarfs the others in it's size so it will take awhile to play through.
this is like Origins, when health is low, pull back and let your stamina bar regenerate, drink a health potion, your warriors are awesome, let them do the charge forward and melee the enemies, circle behind to back stab then move back, repeat.
This is wonderful timing! I've just re-installed Inquisition for a playthrough nice and fresh in the lead-up to Veilguard (SO EXCITED!). I love this game, it has its flaws like they all do but it really is special. Inquisition was my introduction to Dragon Age so I really can't shake it as my favourite. I know this was probably recorded some time ago, but I wanted to offer a couple of tips RE the controls and key bindings if you haven't tinkered with them already. When I play, I always unbind the A & S keys from the camera movement and rebind them to left and right strafing so I can move normally with WASD. You can rebind the camera to Q & E, but I tend to just leave it unbound because I only ever move the camera around with the right mouse button anyway. I also rebind the search button from V to ALT, so I can just tap ALT with my thumb while moving. Much more comfortable for me than hitting V. I also like to rebind the basic attack from R to E, but that's very much just personal preference. Looting can definitely be a bit awkward until you get used to it and even once you are the animation can become quite laborious, especially when you are needing to loot resources like herbs. I don't know if you are interested in mods, but there is a fantastic mod for this called Don't Break My Stride that disables the looting animation, increases the search radius and optionally increases the collection radius. It's a truly life-changing increase to QoL while playing this and might be especially appreciated for the purposes of a let's play. ☺ Always love seeing a fellow elf girlie 😊
00:12:00 My biggest complaint about this game is that the scar/mark on your hand is the distinguishing feature that makes you the "chosen one" of this story but you never see it. All you actually see is a perfectly unblemished hand with an occasional flash of green light.
Yay I finally got to your DAI game!! Had to skim a bit but I'm just excited to catch up with you lol. I loved your reactions to your new and old companions. Cassanda and Varric........... they are everything to me. Yes I ship them. I saw the look you gave them at 32:16... join us......... hehe jk. unless? The controls for this game are pretty finicky at first yeah!!!! I actually prefer playing it with a controller. I assume by now you've gotten used to them by where you are, but just in case: To loot and interact, you can use F (i think) once close to it instead of having to click with the mouse. I find that much faster.
omg ur character is so adorable!!😭❤️dont comment much but wanted to say ive been loving ur playthroughs and im so excited to see u start inquisition so i hope u have fun w it!!
Hiding helmets is under the Interface tab in the main menu. Ignore the Trials tab that's a few extra difficulty options such as getting rid of health potions or increasing the amount of disapproval you get from companions. How companions use their abilities is also different than the previous 2 games. The tactics menu is very different, the 2 most important options are potions and their stamina use. By default they use their potions when they get to 30% health but they won't use health potions automatically if there's only 2 left, you can change both of these. They also won't auto-use abilities if their stamina or mana is less than 50% to encourage players to control them themselves but I usually lower that to 0% so they will use their abilities without restriction.
as a rogue you could choose to wield a bow, throw grenades, set traps, plenty of different styles to fight. please set markers on the map, run to the marker, take your time and go everywhere on the map
so excited to watch your playthrough! your inquisitor is so cute and baby🥺it took me about an hour to make my first inquisitor too (which was a silver haired elf warrior so i understand you completely lol) 😅don't worry about taking your time to learn how to play it's a long game so don't worry about rushing it. One of my tips is to upgrade your and your party's armor and weapons as soon as you get new ones and remember to manage your inventory often throughout the game. You can customize your party a lot more than in DA2. As far as playing a dual wield rogue you will do a lot of damage by flanking and hitting enemies from behind! it takes a while to get used to doing it tho or at least it did for me because i play warrior a lot and am used to rushing in the front lol. Also there is a lot of crafting in this game and i suggest getting to know how to do it when you get there because some of your best weapons and equipment will be from crafting. hope you enjoy the game!
after you created your character you fell unconscious after leaving the rift, and there were some soldiers who walked up to you. I assume they saw the woman behind you then
Yay I'm caught up Definitely agree with the others to turn on subtitles! Also it's funny I've seen a bunch of people start this game and I'd say 90% of ppl miss the first level up I think they shouldn't have put dialogue that urges you to keep moving at that point. You did really well against the pride demon I still remember my first play through was a dagger rogue too and I thought that was the hardest fight in the entire game lmao everyone kept dying
I'm excited to see your run and I actually wait a bit to be able to watch in a row a few videos 😁And your character is quite cute, I'm glad to see an elf
This game has loads of lore if you're interested in exploring places. It is very long though but there is a lot of cool stuff to find if you want to. Also romances in this game have racial and gender preferences. I would say just flirt with the people you're interested in as you can make your decision when you're 100% sure.
I don't remember what episode it was you heard the name Dhenyla and wrote it down, but whenever it was, I was like, 'bet that will be the Inquisitor!!' and I was so right~♡ She looks SO baby, I adore her already! I have been looking forward to you getting to this one a frankly silly amount, but I'm glad we're here. You are always very insightful! Hope you have fun, and excited for next one!
Ohh, I am so excited for this one - especially to see your future theories about the story and characters of this game! ☺️ As someone who also loves playing as a rogue in Dragon Age - I can say that it is really fun to level up and pick the skills in a way that works best for your build in Inquisition imo, especially since rogues are a little bit like glass cannons. So leveling them in the right way just makes the combat so fun here! Also love the look of your character and that you named her after the Dalish woman that got turned into a werewolf in Origins - I think it just adds more to the meaning that way since your girl is also a Dalish hunter now! Can't wait to see how you flesh out her personality from now on with the choices you make! ☺️❤️
I actually played Inquisition first. I genuinely love this game and have replayed it so many times. It actually made me LOVE the archery combat, even though I'm more a magic guy. Dual Wielding isnt as good here as it was in DA2 but the specializations can make it soooo good. I wont lie I hope you end up trying archery but you will enjoy daggers just as much. I hope you love the game it sadly gets a bad rap sometimes.
oh Kiki! there's something on the war table called The Black Emporium - you can go here to edit your character at any time just like in DA2, but i *strongly* advise you don't interact with it or at the very least don't read its description until after a certain point in the story. you'll know when it comes. it's spoilery for the villain. just letting you know!
Replying so this gets boosted.

Good advice, one of my friend was spoiled by it in his first playthrough...how could they have forgot to edit that ?
This ^^ yes. Wild that they never patched that out of the game.
Look for the Knight Commander Meredith statue in the Black Emporium.
ooh, you went with an elf! exciting!

Kiki, The temple that exploded at the start is built atop the same area you went to in Dragon Age Origins to retrieve the Urn of Sacred Ashes.
also, if it would be okay with you, could you set the settings so subtitles are on the screen? Thank you!
Seconded!
I'm a few episodes in front because I pre record but I've put subtitles on always now 😊

Im sure soneones already said: but on the war table avoid the Black Emporium until later in the game. Theres a spoiler in the text

Also there is a lot of crafting in this game and i suggest getting to know how to do it when you get there because some of your best weapons and equipment will be from crafting. hope you enjoy the game!
Kiki, if you can, a controller is so much better for this game than the mouse/keyboard!
after you created your character you fell unconscious after leaving the rift, and there were some soldiers who walked up to you. I assume they saw the woman behind you then
Woo! I'm so glad you're playing this so I don't have to rush through another play through myself, lol.
pick up ore and herbs as you go; ore, hides and cloth are needed for armor; ore for weapons; herbs for potions. A lot of crafting in this game.
Ooooh 👀👀
As another dual-wielding Lavellan: hiii
Yeeeeeeeeeessss! I've been waiting for this!!
Haven't watched yet. Just wanted to say how excited I am!!!!
Yay I'm caught up
Definitely agree with the others to turn on subtitles!
Dual wielding is my favorite dai class, I hope you have fun woth the gameplay!
I'm excited to see your run and I actually wait a bit to be able to watch in a row a few videos 😁And your character is quite cute, I'm glad to see an elf
When I did my elven rogue I named her Arwen from Lord of the Rings
Ooooo I love this 😊
This game has loads of lore if you're interested in exploring places. It is very long though but there is a lot of cool stuff to find if you want to.
Also romances in this game have racial and gender preferences. I would say just flirt with the people you're interested in as you can make your decision when you're 100% sure.
I think this about the last week one can start Inquisition with hopes of finishing it before Veilguard.
I Always come back to this game ! Let's go !!
Yessss it was very much between this name and a name in the City elf origin but this one won! 😊
love her first reaction to Solas! can't wait to see how she builds relationships with all the characters ! also..does Kiki have the DLC???
Ohh, I am so excited for this one - especially to see your future theories about the story and characters of this game! ☺️
As someone who also loves playing as a rogue in Dragon Age - I can say that it is really fun to level up and pick the skills in a way that works best for your build in Inquisition imo, especially since rogues are a little bit like glass cannons.
This is such a good playthrough...
Kiki, this is a 5 month journey to finish the game, you'll get better each time you play.
Exciting! Wondering if you will have the same romance option as me in this game as well lmao
Oh yes! Dragon Age Inquisition, let's go! My favourite of the games. I hope you like it as much as I did, let's go!
Will she finish trespasser before 31st Oct?
Dhenyla is adorable!
options > hide helmet
Finally in the best Dragon Age game.
We are here!!!!
Im so excited
Can't wait for more! BTW, is there an option to switch the UI off in conversation cutscenes? Seems odd for it to be there.
It does look kinda weird. Might be glitched?
Also dont forget to level up xD
Yaaay let's go!!!
I'M SO EXCITED
Dhenyla sounds cute but if i were in the camp with her, i would joke non stop that shes in "Deny-la"
Here we go. You are pretty good with predictions. This is going to be very interesting, if you can predict some more Storylines. ;)
