Rajini in the PS1 trailer launch also said the same thing that the Neelambari character was penned with reference to the Nandini character from Ponniyin Selvan. The crowd that they showed who were lining up on the tractors were crowd who came to see the shooting. There is an interview of the director who directed this movie but sadly there is no substitute.
