    I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.
    Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.

    Farzad and Nick, some constructive criticism. I wanted to show this video to someone who was considering investing in Tesla (at my recommendation which was not investment advice). He was okay with watching a 3.5 hour video. He's an older gent. I prefaced it by saying that this featured a "deep bench" of Tesla investors who keep a close eye on everything Tesla and are qualified to (not) give investment advice. But then he saw Nick, and I lost all credibility with him. "Is this a joke?" he asked me. I didn't know how to respond. My question to y'all: Would the call have been any less educational and informative if Nick had instead appeared without the costume? Seriously. If we all want to be taken seriously, we need to "read the room", and the room consists of people who would have thought Nick's getup was "cool" AND people who would react as my friend did. So, on balance, a good idea if credibility is of paramount importance?

    3:15:59 one of the reasons that I love Tesla, and one of the reasons I want to purchase one of their vehicles, is that they’re not trying to overpower, overtake, or destroy the competition. They are reaching towards a base of consumers that have never had a car as nice as a Tesla. They are looking to sell their cars for less money to an audience who can truly appreciate the wonder. That is the machine they’re driving. they’re not necessarily shooting in any direction of takeover or destruction of the other companies that provide vehicles because they know the value of those companies and we still need them in order to meet the demand of the world needs. He’s coming out from a standpoint of abundance, not competition, and that is one of the reasons that I appreciate Tesla as a company.

    Even after Emmett’s Dad told him they have an advertising index number of 97 (better than APPLE). I own and advertising agency for 25 years working with FORTUNE 50 companies, they would have to spend north if $1B to make an dent. In this market, he is gun shy. He clearly stated he has “PTSD”.

      PTSD? Elon knows better than many that the US is financially involved in two wars and just printing money. One of these wars may escalate to WW3. Any idea where the economy is headed? Analysing sitting in ivory towers is futile.

    It isn’t about just the EV. The charging infrastructure is still woefully behind.

    Elon did not sound great to me. He sounded very tired and rather downbeat. He rambled a couple of times and that was concerning. I'm a long-term Tesla investor so I'm counting on Elon being well.

    Loved this podcast! In my opinion, I feel like EV's are more abundant in other countries because the governments have stricter pollution laws. Tesla needs to advertise. Have there cars in more movies. Get some big celebrities onboard. Target a younger demographic.

    People are buying inferior vehicles because they live in apartment complexes or condominiums in downtown areas that do not have a "home charging" infrastructure. There must be a movement to incentives apartment complexes and condo parking lots with charging infrastructures so that people who live there can own BEVs. All my sisters and all my nephiews except for 1 nephew live in apartment complexes and condominiums. They all want a Tesla but they wont buy a Tesla if they are not going to have the cars charging over night.

    Re advertising: You completely ignore the fact that Tesla has continued with 50 percent increase in sales a year for years without advertising. Why change what is working? that is just idiotic. The sales so far are no doubt from word of mouth and this will continue to be the case without advertising. Elon's beliefs in this regard are well-founded and backed up by the rising sales. And when the Model 2 starts coming out demand will again increase and once again Tesla won't be able to keep up with it. Elon believes an affordable superior car with sell without advertising and so far he has been proven to be right.

    Re: levels of FSD. What people are not realizing is: FSD is also a huge safety feature, and historically Tesla doesn't charge extra for non-mandatory safety features it invents. And, there will be people who want FSD for the safety feature and not so their car can be used as a RoboTaxi. So for those people, can't FSD be included with the car as AutoPilot is now, and for those who want to use FSD to make money (RoboTaxi), charge them for FSD. I can't pay $12,000 or $200 a month for this safety feature, but without it, there could be a serious accident. Not a good scenario. How about: If the driver is sitting in the driver's seat, no charge for FSD. If the driver's seat is empty but there is someone in the car ("chauffeur mode"), a small "convenience" fee for FSD. If the car is used as a RoboTaxi, $20,000 or $3,000/mo.

    There is a reason why so few carmakers have tried to make the car the way that Tesla is trying. Its very hard to make standardized cars out of stainless steel chassis. Think the current problem at least according to some articles i have read is that Cybertruck shakes a bit when one is driving it. Meaning it isnt a smooth ride atm which has to get fixed before you enter into full production. Also If Mercedes accepts liability and if Tesla doesnt that tells me that Tesla doesnt trust its own fsd system as much as it claims to.

    • @korodibalazs

      What positive impact would it bring to the company if Tesla accepts liability?

    • @sliceofheaven3026
      @sliceofheaven3026 6 месяцев назад

      It shows trust in their own product. Do you trust the quality of your own product if you dont accept the potential liability if things go wrong @@korodibalazs ?
