@@Henry-gz2gn It's a clock chime. My grandparents have this old clock in a glass case that makes a tune every 15 minutes, that plays more parts the further into the hour it is when the tune plays. The one they did in the video is for any time at :30, or half past an hour. Look up the Kundo Louvre 400 day clock, I think that's what it's called, or at least similar to the one I'm familiar with.

Basically you actually have to be in the middle of them and like below, in the claw's zone, otherwise it doesn't count. It's not a forgiving hitbox at all and you can see multiple times in the video where Simple and co just barely graze it but it doesn't count, so they go sailing through 80% of the claw, just not the 10% of it that matters to the game's mechanics.
