That looks like winter mowing... that would usually be a bit tighter. The greens also seem "slow" - I know, I know. But those greens can be like a pool table.
Have never Played Myrtle Beach Area ,Our Group allways went To Spartanburg ,Greenville Area .It’s Magnificent ,We also played Santee Couple times which was also very Nice !
I usually play from the Senior (gold) tees now days - I'd have to play from the reds on this course. And a 240 yard par three....yikes. Crazy having a huge bunker if the middle of the fairway. But at least they have some nice sand in those bunker is I recall correctly. Beautiful course, but I'd take the ones you play near you, with the mountains in the background, all day. Still no doubles...well done man. Look forward to the back nine. Dude congratulation on hitting the 1K subs mark...not a surprise either. One of the best golf vloggers on You Tube in my opinion, and I watch a lot of golf vlogs. Proud today I have been with you from almost the start. You know back when breaking 90 was a big deal 😁 On that note I hope you don't mind, but I would like to plug another golf vlog channel I have been watching for a while now. Nice young guy named Andy Han. He's just starting out so you know how that can be. He's a vlogging rookie but has a good heart, so maybe your subs can show him some love and check him out too.
Solid start out there man, ridiculous length for that course . But seemed pretty playable beyond the length at least. Btw hope you had a great Christmas! 🎄
Merry Christmas my man! Yeah the length was by far the biggest challenge. Took.some getting used to for the greens as well since I played on 2 different days lol
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf thanks dude! haha yeah that’s not ideal stuff at all. You get any new golf stuff for Christmas? My family completely gipped me on any golf stuff lol
There is a course in Little River, SC, just north of North Myrtle Beach called Eagle Nest. They have a set of tees, appropriately called the Perch Tees, that measure over 8000 yards; technically making it the longest course in South Carolina. Be sure to check that course out next time you’re in the Myrtle Beach area!!
I appreciate that you are sharing your experiences in a variety of courses in SC/NC. My questions is how can you say that you are an "Average golfer" yet you can drive 300 + yards. I am 64 (soon to be 65) and I am just 5'5" and can barely drive the ball 200 + yards, so I play from the senor tees, which helps when playing short courses. I will say that your short game is where you need the most work, since that is why you don't shoot better scores, but I enjoy seeing the courses that you have played and I have played one of them in the Upstate of SC recently. Best wishes.
Haha hey there Paul! Yeah we progressed REALLY quickly from when the channel first started tbh, but being Perfectly Average is more about the mentality in my book than the actual physical representation. The idea of just enjoying where you are, learning and growing, and not sweating the score. Short game has been a BIG focus since these videos back in the fall and it's definitely helped improve my game astronomically. Glad you're enjoying the content and that it's inspired the idea of going out and playing some of them yourself!
WOW 86!!! Great round! Is there any way you can include the green and cart fees in the beginning of your videos? Just to give us budget golfers an idea. Great channel, great content!!!!!!
I 100% would but I actually booked this entire trip through MyrtleBeachGolf.com and it was just 1 fee I paid for all 4. I think this course is normally around $100 with cart and range included tho
I enjoyed this course when I played it back in 2016. I shot 88 from the whites, (6272). Birdied 2 & 13. However, on #8 I had serious issues and took a 6. You played from the back and Bogey is as good as par. I putted pretty good on the greens, (31). Nice round from the tips. On to the next course.
I don’t think it should go unnoticed that you just played a 7600 yard course with zero doubles or worse. My handicap is Sub 4 and I’m not entirely sure I could come close to doing that. Although, distance has always been my bugaboo. It seems you hit your 5 iron about as far or farther than I hit hybrid, and you’re probably 50-60 yards longer off the tee.
I'm actually low-key glad someone noticed that because literally my biggest goal on this first round wasnt at all focused around hitting a # of pars or birdies, just no doubles
I always have 3 goals in competitions: No lost balls, no 3 putts, and no doubles or worse. If I do all 3 of those in one round, chances are I find myself near the top of the leaderboard
Was waiting for those 0ne!
Hope it was worth the wait!
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf Absolutely was worth it. Thanks again.

I'd highly recommend it. Unreal courses everywhere

Playing here next month with my son then kings north. I thought you played a great round.
Ayyy You'll love both courses, definitely high up on the list of places worth playing in Myrtle in my mind! Best of luck lmk how u guys do!
Not a bad round.
Better than I expected tbh

I don’t ever set an Scoring Goal , When I’m playing My Best ,Am Hardly aware of Score ,Just Like get in an Zone I Guess !
Nothing wrong with that!
Great round, Alan! With the length of that course and bogeys basically being pars, you essentially went bogey free!
Haha I'm here for that logic!

Greens were by far the trickiest part of this course tbh which is weird since it's so damn long lol
Have me watching all these videos now. Stuck in snow in Colorado, havent been able to play since November. What month did you play?
Haha welcome to the channel! I played all the Myrtle courses in early November
Nice round, GD looks to be in really good shape. Looking forward to the next video to see how you take on The Gambler hole!
They had JUST redone the greens apparently, unreal condition
It is rated so high because us old folks do not have your range.
Hahaha okay okay fair
What clubs?
TaylorMade P7MCs!
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf Nice clubs.

Wait a minute. It rains you are wearing shorts. It is sunny you have long pants on. What irons?
Hahaha it was actually warm when it was raining but dead freezing when the sun was out
