Looking for Things to Do in Naples, Italy in 2017? Mount Vesuvius is the ideal day trip or eve half day trip from Naples or even Sorrento.
Mount Vesuvius is a volcano located in southern Italy, particularly famous for the major eruption of 79 AD, which effectively buried Pompeii, Herculaneum and other towns in the area in volcanic ash.
You can access Vesuvius from MANY locations, either with an organised tour OR you can simply get the bus up, for example, as I did, from Ercolano with Vesuvius Express. This cost 10 Euros plus £10 to enter the Vesuvius Crater area.
Prepare for TOURISTS!! Vesuvius isn't exactly spectacular although the view over Southern Italy is pretty cool!

Have you visited Vesuvius? Let's face it, it's a fairly nice and average day out, but there's numerous more impressive volcanoes in the world.
However, it's history concerning Pompeii and Herculaneum makes it a must do in Italy.
Remember my front camera WAS damaged when filming this!

I remember doing this in my geography & history lessons and have always wanted to visit. It looks great, very funny with the English tourists as well! Why have a beer half way up there I don't understand either! Haha

Nice video. I also love volcanoes. I have climbed to crater of Vesuvio 20 times. Last time was in July 2018.
I watched also your "Campi Flegrei" video. Solfatara was closed also during my last visit.

Seems like tourist trap hell compared to Campi Flegrei, I wonder why they would bloody serve alcohol that high up on a hike?

Terry Lollback I just think serving alcohol somewhere like that is unacceptable. I know I had a limoncello but that's a typical Italian drink, unlike a bottle of Bud! The guy I got in a fight with didn't even go to the end point, what a waste of time! This is why I chose not to go to Pompeii..... tequila shots on the ruins?
Late next year is the plan, however the majority of the Tlogs that i see are drone shots and although its great, no one seems to be telling it like it is like you do.
