Most definitely, the mother is in the wrong here but so is OP and his wife. Allow me to explain: if you have any self-awareness, you'll recognize that the mother is going through a grieving process. Her irritable demeanor is understandable. She didn't go overboard by cursing OP's wife; she simply expressed that she didn't want her there. She wanted only blood-related family members present.
OP and his wife acted out of love, which we all understand and appreciate. However, it's crucial to consider the mother's perspective. In her vulnerable state, she felt that OP's wife was imposing during a difficult time. While it's painful to hear, the mother's grief-driven reaction deserves some empathy.

I agree. Not saying mom was right but she is greiving and often that process is dark and ugly.

Just because she grieves her way doesn't mean anyone has to put up with it.
There's a difference between saying I don't want you id just like family.
The wife even said she would leave bu the husband insisted she stay
But then the mother went to far by being a bitch about the biological mother not wanting her.
That was uncalled for and literally did not need to be said.
Thats bullshit and she deserved her son leaving her ass.

@@lokilaufeyson4138 The mother was most certainly not in the right place emotionally or mentally when she made her statement. She was deeply entrenched in a period of profound grief, which clouded her judgment and affected her behavior. It's important to understand that her declaration was not a measured or well-considered response but rather a spontaneous outburst born from the depths of her sorrow and frustration. Her words were spoken out of anger, a raw and unfiltered reaction to the overwhelming emotions she was experiencing at that moment.
By insisting that his wife stay, OP reveals a significant flaw in his character. Despite his commendable intent to stand up for his wife, he chose to disregard his mother's wishes and failed to grasp the depth of her pain. While OP has had the opportunity to grieve his sister's loss in his own way, his mother is still in the midst of processing the devastating loss of her child. His actions demonstrate a lack of empathy and respect for his mother's grieving process.
      Also
Expecting adults to consistently behave rationally when they are in an intense emotional state is unrealistic and will inevitably lead to disappointment.

@@niamooresmith2831 being hurt doesnt give u free pass to hurt others, and the point here isnt being abt rational or irrational it is abt being a proper human being, the way she talked showed ppl her genuine emotions and her ungratefulness
