So, is it still in the car? I'm considering a different gearknob for my European MK8 Civic. The stock one I consider to be too large and not very ergomomic at all. I'm experimenting soon with a cheapo Type R style aluminum sphere knob. It looks great, however, I imagine it being a pain in summer. It does get quite hot where I live. If I end up liking how the sphere shape shifts, does this teardrop style feel much different?

Yup, I am still running this same exact shift knob. No complaints at all! If weight is something you're going after, there are heavier shift knobs out there than this one. But for me, that's not a deal breaker because I do have supporting mods to help with the shifter feel. And I love the feel and style of the tear drop shift knob. Feels a lot better in the hand, and it doesn't get extremely hot to where it's untouchable during the summer months (big plus for me).
