Your back and forth comparison at 5:25 is extremely unfair. You deliberately chose to not talk about the BRAND NEW ship combat and the multiple extremely well built locations like the beautiful port town you go to for one single missions to recruit a couple men for your ship which is actually a real place and sooooo much more. Having an opinion is awesome but don’t be a politician about it and hide things you don’t want to praise.
The problem is, Assassins Creed Stopped innovating, in Assassins Creed 3's defense they really innovated on the combat with the Kenways I have said that the Kenways could have been so much more but Uibsoft did them dirty, the other problem is that most of these new AC games have downgraded a lot of what AC used to do so well, they made the maps flat and the stories bland, just so that they could make lazy RPG games which Assassins Creed was never supposed to be, great video man :)
While I hate live service games, I could live with this formula if Ubisoft actually delivered quality content. The problem is Ubisoft and quality are antonyms
I really liked the old AC games too, but in my opinion, they don't play very well nowadays. Especially Black Flag, one of my favorite entries, has very linear missions that feel boring today. Ubisoft even tried to develop smaller games with Mirage and Shadows, but honestly, it only hurt Mirage(i hope the extra time on shadows did work out). Surely, that's partly due to focusing on the wrong mechanics, but I still wouldn't call titles like Odyssey and Valhalla bad. Overall i agree that they need to innovate once again. But they will milk that cashcow as long as they can and only improve in little steps.
Yeah I really wish I could end this video on a hopeful note, but I think Shadows will be subpar and Ubisoft will get sold to Tencent or something like that and there will be no chance of their popular IPs ever being more than crappy mobile games
while everyone is biased in their opinions you can at least try to provide proper reasoning and examples to prove point but this video isn't it. that comparison between ac 3 and ac 2 is the definition of a lazy criticism you barely give any example use factually wrong statements to reach the conclusion you want and the way you push the audience to agree with you is just talking about ac2 energetically and talking about ac 3 like you are bored out of your mind and then to shit on ac RPG elements you bring games like ff16 or forbidden west which have all the issues you mentioned with ac and way more but you conveniently don't talk about them and just expect your audience to take you on your word as to the quality of those games and even with pricing you cant even be bothered to research your video and know they changed their pricing model making a video calling developers lazy and uninspired is very rich coming from someone making the most generic run of the mill ac sucks video without doing any sort of propper research
@@Moons1167 Yeah I think you nailed it. If they trimmed the fat and just made it a good 30 hour game I would have liked it, but I spent 60 hours in it and just gave up after awhile because it was boring.

Because its not made to be fun, its made to be playied as long as possible and most importantly to make as much money as possible
ever since origins. oddysey, valhalla and mirage. i couldnt love them.. i hope hsadows can change this.
Its not even out yet so how do you know
because Ubisoft lost its magic...
don't trust me? Well, they bankrupt
You kind of pitched a live service ac game really, where they add a new time period each year

Mirage is maybe not innovative but pretty good. Valhalla was awful tho
I mean you barely even play as an Assassin now lol its just ubisoft original ahh historical game

Hot take: I liked Odyssey better than AC2, just thought it was too long and grindy.
if do only main missions it's not so bad, but doing only main missions is not what AC is about
