Wow Jameson, that's awesome. Good luck with your project! Thanks for your support!
I usually get the ball joint threaded an bit before I connect the end. About to do this on my Rig again. - Doc
"Looks like I may need a bigger hammer..." love it. Hope to finally get my 97 TJ (automatic) redone. So gotta love any info or things you encounter. Thanks.
HAHA, Thanks John!
Changing mine tomorrow!!! Thanks for the vid and confidence. Im from Ga so i appreciate the accent too, made it alot easier to pay attention. Thanks bro! I didnt notice a problem with mine till i put 33s on it. 40mph and up she starts kicking. Hopefully this will get me by until i do a whole front end job.
Thank you! Glad you found d it useful. Hope it works out for you as well. Over time, I replace the other joints and drag link to make it all fresh. I got my stuff at rockauto. Pretty good prices.
Thanks for the video. This is one of the things I needed. Another is the draglink too, so I will go see if you have one ao that!
You are welcome. glad you find my content useful! Thanks for watching.
With patience and little by little you will leave your TJ in perfect condition. Each step is one more improvement. See you next week.
Thanks for staying with me on this! Proud you are still watching!
Easy fix, however anti-sieze for all bolts subject to water and rust. Restored 98 TJ
Great video mate, absolutely great looking Jeep
Thanks Cheap Jeeper! I really want it to turn out good.
Love your videos! Have to get to work on my own keep now!
Thanks! Glad you like them! More to come
His ratcheting sounds like Rabbits thumping. LoL!
Never noticed until now!
Thanks for the video
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
No need for the ratchet strap. Just turn the steering wheel and it'll move the frame back and forth over the axle.
Nice! Didn't try that. I will next time. Thanks!
Absolutely love your videos makes me feel better about working on mine to see your step by step progress seriously thank you. Also I remember you said you painted your dash in the video you bed lined the tub did you pull the dash the do it or did you do it in the Jeep
Thanks Dude! Yes I pulled the plastic from the metal dash frame. Not that hard to do and will give you a much cleaner job in my opinion. Thanks!
hard to tell but i thought i saw your driver side lower control arm movin a little to much.of coarse its supposed to move some i gguess cause it has a rubber bushin in it but just looked a little much.maybe not.good video
That's funny Robert. I am about to install front upper and lower control arms lol. Your analysis is correct. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Changing mine
Nice Randolph!
Did you need a grease gun.
awesome video! i have a feeling im going to need to change(or upgrade) mine soon :D
which brand did you go with? or did you stay stock?
also, that fire truck came out of no where LOL!
I stayed stock. Got it from Rock Auto. I still have to replace the drag link. Slowly but surely it is getting done. The $$$ is starting to add up at this point lol.
@@ForceBuilt yeah they'll suck you dry if you let them! i have a good few parts to replace/upgrade underneath just from casual wear over 90k miles, and then im going lift kit & tires! my bank account is going to hate me
besides the enigine light @ 10:04, it looks your TJ is performing great - hard to believe that it's jsut a 2.5L...
Thank you Bernie! Yeah, the evap canister throws a code about every 4k miles and I just clear it. Runs good and I am happy with it.
Great video my friend. Inwas wondering of you could help me. Ii have wondering issue in my 2000 TJ especially highway speed. I repacked trackbar with metal cloak and Y Currie steering set up as well. New ball heavy duty ball joint, hub and axel ujoints. But still wondering issues, turns really sharp to the right steering kind Knocks side to side. All I can think of steering box and or shaft? Any direction would be amazing. Thank you in advance
Is it like it has a dead spot in the steering? Like where the steering wheel moves a little but doesn't turn the wheels? If so the gearbox may need to be tightened some. It has a lock nut and a set screw that can be adjusted. Just make small adjustments at a time. Thanks!
@@ForceBuilt a little bit, bit mostly steering wonders to right, within 100 yards i would be on side walk. Also at 80 mph gets scary, didn't 8swd to be that way. Thank again
@@coachbiggsremedy9634 sounds like taking it to an alignment shop might be your best bet. Also If it has a lift, the caster may be a little off also. That will cause the front to feel flighty and unstable. Thanks
@@ForceBuilt Yes 3 inch life Terra flex. I did alignment and check all tire balance and rotated (new Toyo tires 264=75). You can see my frustration 😆 still fin though
@@coachbiggsremedy9634 did you add adjustable control arms in the front? 3" is a little beyond what the stock ones can handle.
I know this is old video but replacing the trackbar and then the drag link, (passenger side) did that fix your wiggle in the steering??
Yes it did. Thanks for watching!
