    Thanks for your videos ! Mid 60's here. Started using a 30lb kettle bell on the Russian swings. Watching your videos, I decided to buy a small, cheap, 3 piece set, so I could learn the moves before deciding on what weight I need next. Also with the lighter ones, I'm hoping to get my kid started.

    I have a bunch of kettlebells and no club so I practiced this movement pattern without learning to do it with a club first.

    it's encouraging to see the potential of this training for athletics and life. It's a little discouraging to hear that you won't be ready to attempt this for years.

    Do not hit your knee. Do not hit your knee. For now, I will stick with clubs for these movements: much more slender.

    I do a ton of walking, and rarely ever have any back pain. Oh, yeah, I also do inside and outside circles with a heavy club. ;-)

    @MarkWildman Hey Mark, I just wanted to ask something, I'm 20 years old and I have been doing kettlebells for 2 yrs now, I have been in a bad shape in my teens and so (on a recommendation of my friend) I bought a 4kg kettlebell and watched the "introduction" videos and started excercising, I am in much better shape now, I use a 12kg kettlebell. But I always did the excercises the way that I set a minute timer, did a number of reps on both sides (if it is needed), put the weight down, had a break for the rest of the minute, then set off the timer again, and so on and so forth, and increased the weight when I felt like it. But then I realised that you said to increase the weight when you can do a certain number of reps in a certain time without putting the weight down. So should I continue excercising the way did it for two years and it worked for me, or should I start excercising explicitly so that I do it for, say 15 minutes (I'm still kind of a starter), without putting the weight down? I know its kind of a long comment, but I believe that if you want to help people you will read through it, have nice one.

    Absolutely love all of your functional movements, but I believe anyone who has done physical labor of most types , is gonna pick this up fairly quickly. ( A year or two seems excessive)

    Hate to contradict you, but elephants can throw heavy tree limbs at their enemies using their trunks. True, they are not using their legs, but then again elephants don't have arms.

    Ah, the sagital plane of moment aka the buttkicking plane of movement.
    In the background is the future mad max war chariot pulled by motorcycle. The Taliban would've like this.

    Do you do pummeling with kettlebells?

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  Месяц назад +1

      Define pummeling

    • @joshuadeanb
      @joshuadeanb 29 дней назад

      @@MarkWildman it’s a milling movement with two kettlebells. Starting in the rack position you would push one bell out laterally to arm’s length and then the bell would swing down towards the midline of the body and back up to the rack position. At this point the bell in the other arm would be pushed out laterally to repeat the process. There are a few videos out there on it, mostly from a decade ago.
