I'm so glad to see this fine home is being renovated. I have been there inside many times when my good friends Cindy and Clif owned it. I have climbed up into the tower many times and walked the surrounding lands. Another friend lives next door. I remember the home in the 1970s before it started to deteriorate so badly. once the home was sold, the caretakers assisted with its demise. BTW, the view from the tower was awesome, I believe that I could see my current home in Rosedale from there. Thanks to all those folks that are saving this Rosedale landmark from destruction. And thank you for my memories.

Great work on balancing the original and new materials for stabilization. We're glad you saved the fascia boards, eaves, and corbels as best as you could, and that part of the cast iron widows walk! That is a big part of the castle's unique identity. Looking forward to the curious discoveries in the next episode!

I lived across the street from the castle for about six years . Mr Berry that lived there at that time would let my sons play on the grounds I have also been in the castle from top to bottom Bud Wyman took me through there. I also know Clifton and Cindy. I am glad to see it being restored

You gotta be kidding me. Somebody actually bought that dump and is restoring it. Unbelievable.

I am extremely excited to see the restoration finally taking place. I was actually on the property around 2005 to document and take pictures of the exterior and it was very sad to see it degrading. I was born and raised in KCK so this Castle has always been very fascinating to me and my family. I did quite a bit of research on it back then and I remember emailing the owner that had lived in New York at the time, his response was very disappointing to say the least. I hope to one day be able to see the interior of this beautiful landmark.

From following the Facebook page to save this beauty to now seeing this is just really cool - rather than letting it fall to the ground. Man, that's sad about the brick discovery. Would be interested in knowing if those bricks will be restored too. So excited for the slate roof installation!

Steve Hammer and I use to ride our bikes past the old castle and wonder if it would ever be saved. Good job guys finally some one got a team and money together to save it.

I know a guy who restores old (late 1800 and early 1900) gas engines that have a lot of cast iron in them. I say that because he has had new parts cast that were broken. The widows walk looks like there is enough left for a pattern so that new parts could be cast. 3D printing could also help make molds for the casts. Those widows walks really add to the over all look. I guess they're not original though. I'm just glad work is being done to restore it.

Do they plan to seal the bricks to prevent water ingress since the glazing was removed.

Is there an Episode 3 coming?

Yes, we just released Episode 3. We wanted to wait until a milestone was hit, and that happened recently. The tower exterior is finished. We will continue to release episodes as more milestones are hit!

10 million for that house no way.

It appears to me that much of the original work was substandard - poor masonry depending on the outer layer for strength.

They spent 10 mil just for the decrepit house???
The Renos will be more than the mouse costs.
I sure hope this is the next Graceland bc that’s what it’s going to take to revive this

The new owners did not buy it for $10 million dollars. That's what the former owner listed it for - and that was for a brief amount of time.
