- I do not own any of the material that is featured in this video it is purely for educational purposes. Showing the rise and fall of the British empire, from the establishment of the east India company by Elizabeth the first, to the twilight or height of the empire at the turn of the century.
The industrial revolution, without it you wouldn't have railroads and most modern technology now. We were technological pioneers. Have a look at how many inventors and scientists were British. The English language which you're speaking right now. Modern democracy. An Empire yes. But an Empire with meaning. Yes there was bloodshed, yea there were bad times, but look at what the land of the free did to the native Americans. The British Empire was never defeated. It was dismantled by the British themselves. It's really was. We knew democracy was the way to go. We gave back our territories because it was the right thing to do. HEAR HEAR, well said sir! We must not forget that it was through technological advancement and enlightenment, mercantile trade, as well as superior military stratagem, that for a time propelled the British nation to excellence.
