    Amen to all that! I've had mine a few weeks now and it's basically my second skin. It oozes quality and performs brilliantly on the bike. Also, for reasons I won't bore your viewers with, I had a little trouble with the ordering process and was staggered to get a call from Casey, the co-owner at Goldtop, and his son and business partner, Tom, who sorted the whole thing out with me and gave me the kind of proper, old fashioned customer service that's all too lacking these days. Anyway, I've been meaning to say for a while how much I enjoy and value your videos, Stuart. And, like many others, I'm a devotee of 'The Full Fillingham' and doing my best to convert all the two-bucket boys I know.

    Marlon Brando's jacket in the Wild Ones was a Schott Perfecto jacket made in the USA. Have the 618 it's great and the original. Schott was the first to put zippers on jackets!!! Est. 1913.

    • @philmcclenaghan7056
      @philmcclenaghan7056 4 года назад

      Schott are crap because they have no armour at all, turns it into a fashion poser jacket and totally useless for a bike.

    • @blairtaylor9552
      @blairtaylor9552 4 года назад

      @@philmcclenaghan7056 You dress for the slide, not the ride. Heavy leather saves skin for sure, so not 'totally useless'. No, I don't wear Schott- a bit lighter leather, with some Seesmart armor, and vented.

    I 've looked at countless jackets but this video sealed the deal for me. Many cyclists use leather jackets here in Hawaii believe it or not! The night temps can get chilly in the higher elevations especially and I am looking forward to busting this out on the roads here. I think it should arrive in a week or two which is when I'll be picking up my 2024 Indian Scout Bobber.

    I must confess, I only discovered your channel a few months ago when I bought my Speedmaster and have been playing catch up watching all the old vids. I wasn't familiar with Goldtop before.However the nice man from DHL just delivered my new Goldtop Lancer jacket 10 minutes ago and it is amazing . Heavy, strong yet supple. My last 'serious' jacket was a Frank Thomas and even after 20 years of abuse it still is rigid and can stand without a hanger! Can't complain ,it saved my neck back in 2003 when I departed my VFR suddenly.Thanks for introducing me to Goldtop, I will almost certainly be dropping another few quid on them for that sweet BoB sheepskin flying jacket.

    I just received mine yesterday. Looks and smells fantastic and appears to be of great quality. Here in New England we just may have wider swings in temps than you do there. No way this jacket could ever be worn in summer months or the temps leading into or out of summer. Now if there was a version that had vents and mesh lining that would expand the range I could use in. As it happens I did buy mine for cold fall/spring temps and hopefully winter the months if there is no snow (ha ha) but the arms are too tight for both armor and layers. Body fits well and the arm length is good so the next size up would be too large. High 70°s to 81° this week which is way too warm for this jacket. Next week considerably cooler so maybe I'll be able to ride with it then.

    What a brilliant review of a fantastic motorbike jacket. These are so well made and oozing quality. As soon as I watched the videos and read the reviews, there’s no bad reviews at all so must be good. I’ve ordered one in black and although I don’t ride a Triumph I think it’ll still complement my retro styled Kawasaki Z900rs. Thanks again for your video review and interesting introduction. 👍 oh forgot to mention delivery day is tomorrow Saturday 22nd October 2021 and I can’t wait. 😉

    Very nice looking and well made jacket, would also look great in black in my opinion. It reminds me of my old Lewis Leathers Cyclone jacket which I purchased in 1976, wish I was thin enough to still fit in it. Just out of interest Hugo Boss designed the infamous black uniforms of the Schutzstaffel.

    A great looking and functioning jacket that really goes nicely with your Triumph Bobber. I love the Goldtop line and purchased a pair of their wool lined gauntlets in brown and the wool submariner sweater last year. They are both almost too warm for winters here in Texas. I've been looking over their jackets too and your review helps so much. Thanks for this review that I'm just now seeing.

    Beautiful Jacket Stu. I have an Oxford leather jacket that is the Steve McQueen replica which I absolutely love but commuting in it daily the last six weeks has been torture. Even with the linings removed and the top open the heat has been a problem. I know this isn't typical UK weather but if we are set to have more hot summers I am looking at the Rev'it Eclipse brown summer jacket. In saying that thankyou for an excellent review sir.

    Great review Stuart, on the strength of it , I've just got the Bobber Jacket in black, what quality, and what service from the guys at Goldtop! the jacket just oozes quality, and at nearly 3 kilo in weight you can tell that this is not like the others in the high street. proper thick leather.
    Reminds me of the good leather jackets you could buy in the sixties, the real deal! So thanks for your comprehensive review mate! cheers, Dave

    I think I like that jacket more than your Barbour. I do wish it had a removable liner. You are lucky that there are so many great options available locally in your neck of the the woods. I live in a Canada, other wise know as a mail order country.

    Have to agree, bobber and the bobber jacket are a perfect match, can attest to the quality of the jacket got mine a couple of months ago and I think it beats jackets twice the price easily. Looked at the triumph jackets and the leather was no where near as good in my opinion.

    Shaun, if I'm right in saying, you didn't actually say what the price of this jacket was? I have a similar looking jacket which I bought from J&S a couple of years ago, which was made by Frank Thomas and I'm very happy with it. I can't remember the price, but I think it was about £180. It would help if you gave a price in your review. Keep doing what you're doing, I'm enjoying your videos sir.
