Really appreciate the in depth behind the scenes 'techno stuff' you always show us. You present a microscopic view of the car wash issues that can make or break the revenue and customer experience cycle. I guess that's why I keep watching!
For monthly maintenance: On the coin side, keep all moving parts greased. Put a pea-sized blob of grease onto the chain after wiping off excess with a dry paper towel to keep it fresh. On the bill acceptor, blow out the dust, then wipe down all rollers and optical sensors with a damp cloth.
I didn't know what stringing was either and I been in this business for 20 years until I was strung, HA! It's when a person extends a five, 10, or a $20 bill and sends it into your validator and waits to hear a click and pulls it out really quick and the pulses are sent to your hopper to disperse quarters. Its a art and takes a really good person to do this. I put in one of my location $500 worth quarters and they call me and ask when are we getting quarters. I went back on the video and it was two guys one wiping his windows and the other stringing and putting the quarters in his back seat in a large tub. I am outside of Chicago about 90 miles and they finally caught these guys in Pennsylvania and are now doing big time as it was the second time they were caught. When they were caught they found 10,000 quarters and 4 stinging bills. They also found in further investigation that they had 4 machines in there garage in Florida for practicing.
This is what worries me about coin operated machines. They are just targets no matter what. I know you said in the video that many people still use bills and coins, but I believe most people use credit/debit cards because it is a must for most purchases especially if you are buying anything online.
Interesting video! Obviously never knew how the quarters were dispensed from the machines. Now,down the road have you thought about buying your own soda etc machine? Thx

Wow thats a crazy story. It seems like these newer validators will error out if its tried. The old change machines I bet are still targets.

Do you mind giving the details on the new coin changer? I'm interested in it since it's a double.
Can you go over how you got the money to make this happen? How you worked a deal with the old owner to buy/lease the car-wash?
