Thanks! When I get too busy with orders I have to put doing my show aside to get caught up. Now that Christmas is over and I’m getting more caught up I should be able to start getting shows out again soon. Happy New Year! MK

Great! You have put a few videos over the last three weeks. Love watching your show on a Saturday. I'm just a watch enthusiast and I love leather straps, so I don't have much experience in what's right it wrong. Just wanted to know if you have a specific way when cutting the strap material from a chip. My inexperienced eye tell me there's a waste of material involved. Maybe you can shed some light in your next video. Take care my friend.

Hi Michael, RUclips changed my username but it's me Bob M. Yes, it took 2 1/2 months to receive my order but it arrived yesterday. Both straps are made perfectly and to my exact specifications. You continue to perfect your craft! These straps are unbelievable. I'll send more photos and wrist roll videos. Thanks for everything Michael!

Love your show Mr. Knapp!! I was curious what acrylic templates you use and where you got them? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mike! I’ve bought several over the years, but a few years ago I found Will DePass on Etsy, who happens to be a strap maker himself, and he makes the best. His Business is called Buzzard Brain Leather. All of the templates I use today are from him, and he’s even made me several odd sizes that he now lists. They’re much thicker than other cheap templates… Here’s the link to his store: www.etsy.com/listing/763459933/watch-strap-templates-for-leather-craft?click_key=b60419f7e95aa835aceff352717d12b436539839%3A763459933&click_sum=e579f406&ref=shop_home_active_42&frs=1&crt=1

When making a strap for an Omega clasp, you want both ends of the strap to be about the same length. The Omega clasp has a contour to it that’s supposed to follow the curve of the wrist’s side, so it shouldn’t land on the middle of the wrist like a regular pin buckle. The measurement for example should be something like 105/100 not something like 120/80. Just thought I’d share that with you. You also want to keep the top leather of straps at 1mm thick. The Omega clasp will not function properly if you use thicker leather at the turnback. The buttons will catch on thicker leathers because there will be too much friction for the buttons to release after they’re pressed, meaning the clasp won’t always lock securely. The overall thickness of the strap where there’s no padding should be about 2.2mm to fit cleanly through the slot of the clasp. I noticed it was a tad thick and didn’t clear the slot easily. I also make straps, I’m in the Orlando area.

Hi M. do you shave the sides of the piece you use as the bolster material to make the strap thicker?
