    Last week on Raw the WWF had a rookie beat a blue blood character to win the Intercontinental Title. This week on Nitro WCW did pretty much the same thing having a rookie beat a similar character to win the TV title, with a celebration that was also very similar to the one we saw last week on Raw. That can't be a coincidence, just saying.

    • @Thor-Orion
      @Thor-Orion 2 года назад +4

      @@Hyde_Hill Anyone familiar with both Jacqueline and Madusa would know that they were both extremely competent in ring performers. Two of the best American female WRESTLERS of their generation. Like Madusa had to go to Japan and have Japanese women come to the states in order to showcase just how good she actually was in the ring, especially when compared to her American contemporaries of that time period. Like sure Madusa is/was easy in the eyes, but she wasn’t just eye candy by any stretch of the imagination. She was also quite physically imposing for a female.

    • @Thor-Orion
      @Thor-Orion 2 года назад +1

      @@phantomsoldier87d na, WCW is actually still not only in a good place, but they acmjmhaven’t even come close to their peak yet. Once the Piper stuff c we ends and they start the build for Sting-Hogan that’s really when WCW was at their very best. They have like 8 months during 1997 when they were doing great shows every single week. Because they get the formula down in terms of what excited and captivated the crowd. It’s so sad the fed was so clueless in 1994, 1995 and1996, because they misused a ton of really gifted, talented and passionate wrestlers like Original Doink (who should have worked a long term program testing down the house with Bret since they could both work their asses off and Bret could be the more down to earth good guy against the 80’s comic book villain, and then instead of one of matches with Hakushi that should have been a short rivalry series. But what Bret really needed was more big men like Undertaker Sid, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Vader and Bam Bam to work extended programs with (sadly Yoko couldn’t keep himself in good enough health to ever be able to work a really good Bret Hart style match, Taker was able to cover for him which is the only reason why Yoko had such a great feud with Taker, their friendship meant Taker knew what his extensive limitations were and he used his great wrestling I.Q. to work around them). He only ever got to work an extended program with Taker and Diesel off this list. And we know how well those programs turned out (both men claim those programs to be the best solo feuds of their careers). i personally think Heel Doink and Bam Bam Biggelo together trying to take down Babyface champion Bret Hart over the course of an extended program starting right after Summerslam (or maybe even at THE Summerslam) and wrapping up at Mania the following year would have done wonders for Bret and the company. The story of Bret’s career is truly that of the all time greatest wrestling storyteller having the ball dropped on his runs by executives who would seemingly rather fail in order to try to blame Bret instead of allowing Bret and the company to succeed and make boat loads more money than they wound up making.

    This series inspired me to subscribe to Peacock to do my own revisiting the MNW. Some really good and some not so good stuff coming up.

    Please keep doing what you do. You’re awesome at it. Relieving the War is a weekly staple for me and I always look forward to it. The effort and detail you put into all of your vids is amazing and you are honestly one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Thank you for keeping us entertained like you do.

    This RAW was actually memorable and I watched it live. They did a great job of building up suspense for Bret and Sid.

    3 things to note. First is how well Bret Hart's heel turn was being conducted with the slow build. Second I totally forgot about the Steiners car crash so thank you for that. Third is the most important, my wife always ask me what do you watch on Thursdays. I tell her it's Horseman business, you wouldn't understand.

    Love reliving the war and have been watching since episode 1. Also, like the compromise idea, it must be very overwhelming for you to do, but I found the scoring helped break the show up and gave us an opportunity to refocus on the action, with so much going on I've found it hard to take it all in since Raw went to 2 hours. Thanks again for the brilliant work!

    Even this early in the war you can see the WWF getting their game face on. Since December Raw has been steadily increasing in quality
