6:54 *It's year 1444 in court of Portugal* My liege something weird have happened! "What is this?" We have gained information, that we actually have people which are loyal to us in Katay! We don't know how they get to know about us, and why they're loyal but they have appeared in the same actually time as mysterious "Qing" empire have shown!
Meanwhile in Constantinople: "Sire! Sire! It's a miracle!". "What is it?" "We can't explain how. But all of the sudden, Greece and the rest of the Balkans are under our control!"
I wish they had a custom nation equivalent for Crusader Kings 2. In fact, why not just throw in an entire map editor so that players can design their own mods with extreme ease?
Holy shit dude, you just got a new subscriber here Not only you did explain it reallt well, but you also made a fun video while doing it The only minor (really minor) problem is low audio quality, but who even cares about that when you make a video like this =D
France around 1812 has a relatively large amount of territory which works well. Like others though my back to the future France had about a dozen cores which stayed with them when releasing the custom nation (disband their armies and you can win your independence war more easily!)
Then you are playing Japan very wrong Ayano. Never have I lost to Ming as Japan. Japan too OP. What you need to do is colonize all of the Pacific islands, like the Phillipines. And then maybe eat all of Korea and Manchuria as well.
In my latest game as Japan I by the year 1550 (this was when I discovered Europe) had a stronger navy than the British and the Iberians combined, and the only wars I had been in (apart from wars inside Japan) was two wars when I conquered the two provinces that have the "Spice Islands" modifier on them, because they made me 4 ducats a month each.
This exploit can even get more insane. I tried making my ghost costum nation France in 1812. Did not really work so i made a Super China myself. After I loaded the game i realised i still got cores on all of 1812 France because of my previous CN. Also I owned Monteferrat which made it easy to expand into europe^^
When I did this, I ended up with flying battery artillery because I did this with a 19th century Austria, which I definitely have no complaints about having this artillery on November 11, 1444, haha.
I tried it with russia and all went well, untill I got to the part where you release the costum nation because I could not choose for the custom nation, only
Well, naturally they have the cores they'd normally have in 1444, but this can be used to give yourself a few extra provinces at the start as france for an easier big blue blob. But if you take too many the overextension may become a problem
Most achievements are possible, though it cannot help with them all, you can use this to start as huge France, or Austria, or Ottomans for example. If you take to much land using the exploit, you can just release a vassal and feed the excess to them.
Either I'm doing something wrong or they patched this. Every time I try my capital state is preserved until I delete the nation, then I can't release the nation. It does, however, still bring all the original nation's provinces back in time.
BUG: For those who don't see the vassal available: you need to make sure the leaders of the custom nation you create has a reasonable age otherwise the custom nation will not appear later.
I am sorry if I wasn't clear enough. When you enter the game there is no way to fix this. You just have to re-do the game and make sure the leaders have some age to them and that your government accommodates for it, not thinking they are age 0.
Can you be a bit more specific? I go to the future, create the nation (load it), go back to 1444 and when modifying the custom nation the age of my ruler is stuck at 0, along with some other attributes like the kingdom rank.
i tried doing this with a reformed byzantine empire but i only managed to get my nation from the ottoman territory (that they own in 1444) and i just had a shit ton of cores in europe while not owning anything. did i do anything wrong?
Also I changed my countries flag, name, culture, religion, etc. I can not make it a vassal even though it hows it has cores all over my Qing Empire. Must I keep these the same?
Tested it out on Prussia and France but when i tried it and released them i didnt get the provinces i selected, as france i got about half of them and am not sure why... is it because of province cost because i set the values to 800 points :(
It is still a huge head start on that achievement. Worst case if you take TOO much to core, release a vassal and give the excess to them. You have plenty of time to integrate them.
I noticed that for me, if you save and exit and load back in, between starting the game, and trying to release the vassal, then the custom nation cores disappear, and you can no longer release them.
I didn't restart the game though oddly. i followed the guide step-by step and the option to release just isn't there. I checked the provinces and all the cores are indeed there from the custom nation i made.
+TheEuropeanCrux Make sure you didn't take ALL of the provinces of the original nation you built your custom nation ontop of. If you do, then it will be impossible to release because you would wipe yourself of the map.
Problem is that when you play as the released super-vassal, you aren't an empire. You're a duchy, and so the amount of states you can have is very low until you gain independence. This means most provinces will have 75% autonomy and anywhere from ~9-24 unrest, causing large revolts after a year or two.
KV3D the autonomy has nothing to do with the unrest, and u have almost no unrest problems as long as you make sure that you are a republic not a monarcy, finally im pretty sure you release at whatever government level you were in the creation
Hello mr. Blob, I've come to a problem using this recently. I did the thing with austria to get my fanatic colectism acheivement. I released and it went fine. But, if I try it without releasing, just getting more core. Like for a Blue Blob run, or with Ottoman for testing, at exactly year 1480, everytime, I get an error saying the saving file is corrupted. Deleting it and using the backup doesnt fix it, and deleting the backup just screw Ironman. I did some testing and let's say i do it with Russia and staying Russia (no release) then it work fine. Maybe it's because Russia doesn't exist at the start date but France and Ottoman do. I don't get this error if I play normaly either. I was wondering if you had this happened to you off-cam or if you know any plausible issues ?
Cannot say I have had this issue happen. In fact I used it with Austria happily. Are you using steam saves or local ones? Perhaps it doesn't like steamsaves (I have only ever used local ones).
I'm using local ones too, and it does the bug both on and offline. Anyway, thanks for answering and I'll try to reinstall see if it fix by itself. Keep up the good work.
If you do it as the Ottomans, you don't play as the custom nation, you use it to start as MEGA-ottomans. Release Syria, Iraq, transfer the arabian/egypt provinces to them and you don't even get crippled by the OE.
Releasing vassals, and transfering provinces to them. For example if you use this to start as MEGA-ottomans, you CAN handle the OE by releasing Syria and Iraq, and transfering most of the excess provinces to them.
I'm betting you didn't make the government type a republic, but left it as a monarchy right? If you make it a republic you don't start with the terrible legitimacy induced unrest.
I did set to republic government in custom nation mode. But it simply changes back to monarchy type automatically after release as vessel. What have I done wrong?
It can be very picky. I've noticed that if you don't have at least positive 'cost' to your nation when you get to the 2nd stage (the setting the ideas stage after having moved back in time to 1444 and having Qing on the start screen), then it didn't work for 'remembering' the government type for me. There could be some other variable, play around with it and if you work it out, do leave a comment to let others know.
I tested out multiple approaches. Find out maybe it's purely due to territory size of the custom nation claims. If the size is too large like the tutorial here presents the government type will always be forced to monarchy. I try only claim southern part of China, it works totally fine and the government type successfully set on Republic.
So i've tried this with qing first, getting 100k+ rebels in the firs 3 years alone while starting with zero army and being a vassal. You start with 20 legitimacy, low religious unity etc. So basically you'll be swamped in rebels for decades to come, any tips and tricks to make your ghost nation actually work? Then i tried it with russia, chose orthodox religion, hoping to have less rebels, same shit happens, how will you prevent those rebels from splitting up your blob when you start out with only 10k manpower and no standing army and after the first 1 or 2 months, your overlord deletes his army due to maintenance cost on 1 province...
I don't understand the question. If you exit reload the game after starting but before releasing the vassal state, it can 'forget' about the custom nation cores. But aside from that, how you use it is up to you. It works very well with the Ottomans, who can transfer the excess provinces to Syria and Iraq. Similarly it works to boost France and Austria, or by actually playing as the custom nation!
It can be used to make super powerful vassals. F.e. in some time when Ottomans have much more land create few custom nations on the "new" lands - spend 800 points to give them super ideas, return time to 1444 delete custom nations, start game as ottomans and release overextended land as vassals. Great to make them to have f.e. super generals or get few free colonists.
The Blobber I released the ghost nation as vassal and played as that vassal, exactly as you showed in the video. As a vassal i can't release vassals to up the religious unity or reduce the amount of provinces with unaccepted culture or different religion. Before i can start a war of indepedance, i need troops, and when you play as the ghost nation with all those cores in place, you also start without troops, 20% legitimacy and a 1 province overlord. Before you have a decent enough stack of troops to start a war of independance and subsequently release some vassals to manage the quantity of rebels that spawn, they already spawn and 100k+ is the usual. So i ask you again, how do you manage that amount of rebels either NOT to spawn that fast or how to kill them in time before they cut off pieces of your blob.
The Ghost Custom nation HAS cores on everything. So you when you 'swap' to playing as them, all the OE goes away. I don't under stand why you are getting rebels. If you are having trouble understanding, either play around with it, or wait until next Tuesday, I have a new series starting which shows the exploit used. You should be able to work out what is going wrong/differently then.
The Blobber The cause of the rebels is religion, separatism, not OE. I managed to have all the cores by playing as the vassal. -religious unity low -legitimacy low 20% (seems to be the default for a vassal after releasing?) -hardly any prestige -no power projection -no positive stability (though i've tested investing in it, which is expensive due to low religious unity) which might only delay the inevitable -many provinces have unaccepted culture aswell, which can't be very helpfull, though shouldn't be a huge issue. In such a situation, the first idea group i'd choose is humanism to counter all the reasons for unrest. I'm playing with the dlc's up to common sense, still learning the game and trying to get the finer points and learning all the tricks that are out there to reduce cost of expanding, either diplo or coring. Wanna paint the entire map my colour and this ghost nation seemed ideal at first. Might get the rest of the dlc's later but i like that i'm getting the hang of the ones that i have, don't wanna reset that just yet. I hope in the games you show, you browse a bit through the map modes regarding religion, culture and unrest. When i did russia, the provinces that belong to uzbek at the start, got 20% unrest or close quite fast. gave them autonomy but to no avail. 10 stacks of 8 to 10 rebels spawning. Maybe you did something that allowed for a higher spread of the main religion or wether the ghost nation's main culture was applied to the provinces. Also check for your legitimacy right after you release the ghost nation with it's 170-ish cores. Those 3 things probably work different for whatever reason. cheers.
It doesn't seem to work. I selected the netherlands and some of the land near them and dit everthing you did but I didnt get my land nor did the nation under pup up?
Often when something gets pached they acidentally 'unfix' it later down the line; the nation swaping exploit has resufaced for example. So even if it doesnt work right now, it might again eventually.
Hurricane07 Technically you start as a 'normal' nation. So all usual achievements are available. You only become the custom nation after the game starts.
Yes, but you can only transfer land to nations that own it in another startdate. So you can do Hungary to Austria, because they own it at the end of the game, but you cannot do it the other way around, because Hungary never 'own' Austria.
Why the hell when you go back to 1444 no custom nation's land shows up? I did it and some random provinces remained under my control (most of them besieged by the Ottomans lmao)
Yeah I messed up everything lol. What's funny is that I already used this exploit a couple of months ago with Prussia and it worked just fine, but apparently is too hard with Ottomans or Russia because you'll get tremendously high unrest. Apparently doing it with the Qing is the best way.
M. Miretti The ottomans are very good to do it with. Release syria and Iraq and transfer the provinces you dont have cores on to the vassals to spread the overextension around.
What do you mean mate? I play as the released vassal of course, and religious unity is way too low. Also consider that my released vassal is a tribal despotism and i want to convert to Catholicism, so I started fueling Catholic uprisings (that got instantly crushed by my turkish overlord)
As the Ottomans, you use it to 'time travel' ALL the land the Ottomans have, in say 1812, so that they have them at the very start of the game. The only problem is that they don't have cores. To get over this problem, release vassals and spread the uncored land around.
Not that I'm aware, but there are so many things that are part of DLC that I just take for granted now... When in doubt check out the eu4 wiki, its usually a fairly solid resource.
I notice that when I release the custom nation its name disappears and its dynasty changes. Also it has to take the religion of its liege. Is there a way to fix those?
DKraeff From the main menu, after clicking single player, there is an options menu in the bottom left - above the 'back' button. From that option menu, go to the custom setup subtab, there you can set the points limit.
The Q in Qing is a "ch" noise

Adusakful XD EU4 IN A NUTSHELL
Meanwhile in Constantinople: "Sire! Sire! It's a miracle!". "What is it?"
"We can't explain how. But all of the sudden, Greece and the rest of the Balkans are under our control!"
qing is pronounced Ching, that's where China comes from, my friend laughed at me when I used qwing
jklahsd32 laksd13 origin is a little older, but you're correct in the pronunciation
actually the name "china" came from Qin dynasty, the first dynasty to unify china.
***** yeah i have seen the video "china doesnt exist"
Even written in english, it'd require a u to make it "Quing".
Макиавелли принц english is wierd af, so it probably doesnt matter.
I wish they had a custom nation equivalent for Crusader Kings 2. In fact, why not just throw in an entire map editor so that players can design their own mods with extreme ease?
A map editor (mod) does exist.
Holy shit dude, you just got a new subscriber here
Not only you did explain it reallt well, but you also made a fun video while doing it
The only minor (really minor) problem is low audio quality, but who even cares about that when you make a video like this =D
best EU4'er imo. Keep up the GODly work.
Its fixed😢
Your Tricks and Tips videos are very good, keep doing them!
holyshit Qing wormholed back to 1444
Yes
France around 1812 has a relatively large amount of territory which works well. Like others though my back to the future France had about a dozen cores which stayed with them when releasing the custom nation (disband their armies and you can win your independence war more easily!)
My god man this is DDRJake level of exploitiness.
So what's the best ideas to make a Qing sized blob even more OP?
Benjamin Yang Discipline, Morale of Armies, and Infantry Combat Ability?
+Republican Tradition, -Core Cost, -Diplo-annex cost, -tech cost. Imo
Then you are playing Japan very wrong Ayano. Never have I lost to Ming as Japan. Japan too OP.

If you want to I can make a short guide on how to Japan well

Just make sure not to swap to the 'old' artillery when you start unlocking the real ones. Else you lose those extra pips.
"Kwing"
lmao at kwing
I tried it with russia and all went well, untill I got to the part where you release the costum nation because I could not choose for the custom nation, only
I tried to do the same to France, and about 50% of french lands still stayed with them when i released the custom nation
Well, naturally they have the cores they'd normally have in 1444, but this can be used to give yourself a few extra provinces at the start as france for an easier big blue blob. But if you take too many the overextension may become a problem
It's because france has cores on that land in 1444.
Nah I tried it many times the game just crashes after
wait but Most achivements will be impossible to get right so it Kind of fixes itself again
Most achievements are possible, though it cannot help with them all, you can use this to start as huge France, or Austria, or Ottomans for example. If you take to much land using the exploit, you can just release a vassal and feed the excess to them.
That seems way powerful. Brb, going to take over the world easy mode.
I don't understand why your custom nation had all the cores
wombatmike if you don't know yet, custom nations automatically have cores on the land that they start with.
Either I'm doing something wrong or they patched this. Every time I try my capital state is preserved until I delete the nation, then I can't release the nation. It does, however, still bring all the original nation's provinces back in time.
What version of the game is this in?
Which achievements can you actually get?
Brajan Frant conquer the planet
You gain sub only just cause i made many achivments by this xD (and cause thats awesome)
BUG: For those who don't see the vassal available: you need to make sure the leaders of the custom nation you create has a reasonable age otherwise the custom nation will not appear later.
But, you can't edit it in 1444. It's stuck at age 0, so no immortal emperor.
What brilliant idea do you have to fix that?
I am sorry if I wasn't clear enough. When you enter the game there is no way to fix this. You just have to re-do the game and make sure the leaders have some age to them and that your government accommodates for it, not thinking they are age 0.

I go to the future, create the nation (load it), go back to 1444 and when modifying the custom nation the age of my ruler is stuck at 0, along with some other attributes like the kingdom rank.
custom nation has cores but i cant release them ,what did i do wrong?
omg u amazing bro awesome
i tried doing this with a reformed byzantine empire but i only managed to get my nation from the ottoman territory (that they own in 1444) and i just had a shit ton of cores in europe while not owning anything. did i do anything wrong?
Can you do this more then twice? for example going twice back in history?
Also I changed my countries flag, name, culture, religion, etc. I can not make it a vassal even though it hows it has cores all over my Qing Empire. Must I keep these the same?
Tested it out on Prussia and France but when i tried it and released them i didnt get the provinces i selected, as france i got about half of them and am not sure why... is it because of province cost because i set the values to 800 points :(
Thanks for the video but I think paradox fix it is there any glitch to teleport nations ?
no
btw it is pronounced ching not kuing.
Any tips on achievements to go for with this? Big Blue Blob will be impossible since you have to core it all
It is still a huge head start on that achievement. Worst case if you take TOO much to core, release a vassal and give the excess to them. You have plenty of time to integrate them.
This is so broken its hilarious, time to get some cheese achievos.
it keeps making my heir 0 years old then crashes, how do i keep him 15 years old or whatever
Oddly when i do this i cannot release the custom nation that i made, have you ever encountered this? if so how do i fix it/work around it?
I noticed that for me, if you save and exit and load back in, between starting the game, and trying to release the vassal, then the custom nation cores disappear, and you can no longer release them.

+TheEuropeanCrux Make sure you didn't take ALL of the provinces of the original nation you built your custom nation ontop of. If you do, then it will be impossible to release because you would wipe yourself of the map.
You have to leave at least 1 province open when you choose your provinces. The province can not be one that starts uncolonized though.
I can use 6 pip cannons from day 1 with this exploit, it's insane. the problem arises from the religious unity causing unrest
Problem is that when you play as the released super-vassal, you aren't an empire. You're a duchy, and so the amount of states you can have is very low until you gain independence. I'm using local ones too, and it does the bug both on and offline. Anyway, thanks for answering and I'll try to reinstall see if it fix by itself. Keep up the good work.
I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but I also got cannons in 1444
Has this been patched? I can't click on the date to change it by typing
So what are the most OP nations in this exploit? Qing or also someone like brittain or france?
Qing, Russia, Ottomans are all good. Britain doesn't really hold that much land directly.
you can't do that to ottomans.
if you do, you only get the provinces the ottomans don't own in 1444 and that isn't much.
If you do it as the Ottomans, you don't play as the custom nation, you use it to start as MEGA-ottomans. Release Syria, Iraq, transfer the arabian/egypt provinces to them and you don't even get crippled by the OE.
The Blobber well, that makes sense
i might want to try that
The Blobber What if i release the custom nation but don't play as them?
that would be one OP vassal
If you do fast forward a nation in w/o reverting to a custom nation, how do you deal with the OE?
You don't
Releasing vassals, and transfering provinces to them. For example if you use this to start as MEGA-ottomans, you CAN handle the OE by releasing Syria and Iraq, and transfering most of the excess provinces to them.
I have a question about the exploit. How to handle the insane unrest at the beginning even after release as a vessel?
I'm betting you didn't make the government type a republic, but left it as a monarchy right? If you make it a republic you don't start with the terrible legitimacy induced unrest.

The cause of the rebels is religion, separatism, not OE. I managed to have all the cores by playing as the vassal.
-religious unity low
-legitimacy low 20% (seems to be the default for a vassal after releasing?)
-hardly any prestige
-no power projection
-no positive stability (though i've tested investing in it, which is expensive due to low religious unity) which might only delay the inevitable
-many provinces have unaccepted culture aswell, which can't be very helpfull, though shouldn't be a huge issue. In such a situation, the first idea group i'd choose is humanism to counter all the reasons for unrest.

try in a previous version
for me is working with no problem
just remember to delete after the modify
well there is a problem, it is always kingdom, whatever i do

Hurricane07 Technically you start as a 'normal' nation. So all usual achievements are available. You only become the custom nation after the game starts.
So we can with that solution give more land to basic nation in 1444 ?
For exemple i can give all Hungary to Austria ?
Yes, but you can only transfer land to nations that own it in another startdate. So you can do Hungary to Austria, because they own it at the end of the game, but you cannot do it the other way around, because Hungary never 'own' Austria.
Ok thanks :)
Why the hell when you go back to 1444 no custom nation's land shows up? I did it and some random provinces remained under my control (most of them besieged by the Ottomans lmao)
M. Miretti the order of operations is important. Youll get the hang of it.
Does releasing the vassal at 5:50 require a DLC?
Not that I'm aware, but there are so many things that are part of DLC that I just take for granted now... When in doubt check out the eu4 wiki, its usually a fairly solid resource.
You need Art of War
Cruz Nunez no I can do it without ANY dlc
Nah, I figured it out. Vassal is no dlc, but releasing a Client State requires Art of War.
自定义点数其实可以通过修改文件增加
有人认为修改游戏文件是作弊行为。这只是游戏漏洞利用的一部分。请原谅不熟练的表达方式(不识字).
How do you have 800 points for your nation? I can only grt 200?
Louis O'Brien game options. there is way to increase how many points you get
and qing also spreads the technology.
I notice that when I release the custom nation its name disappears and its dynasty changes. Also it has to take the religion of its liege. Is there a way to fix those?
Not that I know. But seeing as you can give urself +1 republican tradition using this exploit, you should be playing as a republic not a monarchy.
What's the benefit of playing as a republic?
You can 'grow' your leader, by re-electing them, until they become a 6/6/6.
does this give me the manchurian candidate
where do I get the custom nation? is it a DLC?
DazidSpore24 Custom nations were a dlc feature yes. Hit up the eu4 wiki for exact details (I forget which one).
Im gonna make a one province minor with some mad Mil ideas and just shrek
Wow
*KWING*

no, but you get the highest level artillery at 1444 which is weird
Doesn't work anymore :(

This was patched, no longer works in this form in 1.20 or newer. You'd need to play on an older version of the game if you want to use this exploit.

How you can have 800?
DKraeff From the main menu, after clicking single player, there is an options menu in the bottom left - above the 'back' button. From that option menu, go to the custom setup subtab, there you can set the points limit.
Thanks
It's "Ching". Please at least try to pronounce things properly if you're playing a historical game.
