Bro not you making me want to do a comparison video between this lil thing and our full on camera car rig. haha. Thanks for the mention on my personal channel. I've been looking at this camera for a hot minute just as a little backup camera and this might be enough for me to by it to see what sort of shots we can get!
No way man! I appreciate you checking out the video that’s awesome!! 🙏 it’s definitely still a work in progress setup but a part 2 is coming soon with hopefully all the problems fixed! 🙏
Doing more with less, I love it! You've given me a few ideas here. Is this near Brisbane? Reminds me of some of the roads I visited in 2016 on a trip. Great job dude.
Yammie this is in Wollongong, NSW. South of Sydney, and can look similar to Brisbane as most of the east coast of Aus does, but most NSW cars have yellow number plates.
Aye!! I edited and came up with the idea in Vinh’s Video. I’m the guy introducing the pocket :) Glad to see it being done here. You did an amazing job. Cheers! 🍻
That’s so sick man! Gotta give credit to the ones that did it first 🤝🙏 glad you liked the video man! I actually have a part 2 to this video where I solved some of the problems I faced on the motorcycle
No-hands braking while adjusting the gloves - I know that flex. Always fun playing with a new camera and finding new ways to be creative. Good on ya, mate.
Dude the colour grading throughout this video looks absolutely stunning, I loved how it looked in the upper mountain region, gave me horror/silent hill vibes
Thank you so so so much!! That really means a lot because I spend a good amount of time colour grading! I have a Lut pack that I am working on right now coming soon🙏
Thank you for sharing your detailed test using the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for cinematic shots. 🎥 Your insights on overcoming challenges like vibrations are truly valuable! We'll definitely try a similar setup inspired by your experience. Your work is a great resource for anyone interested in these projects. Keep it up! #cinematicshots #filmmaking
Not a biker but found your video from suggested. I actually got the pocket 2 based on the same video and found it really hard to mount to my vehicles due to vibrations. I have since ended up with a couple other cameras for POV drives but the pocket 2 still rocks for cinematic handheld shots. Will be subscribing and watching any updates you do as it would be super handy coming up with a mount that kills vibration, I ended up with the gimbal on mine fully shutting down when I was stopped at some traffic lights in my mini due to the vibrations!
I really like the cinematic story telling aspect of your videos. That's similar to the direction I would like to go as well eventually. I still have a lot to learn.
Looks great. Looking forward to the next video with the Scotty Makes Stuff 4th axis stabilizer. And are you using the GoPro mounting hardware for that beast of a setup?
Part 2 coming tomorrow man! I think you’re going to love it!! I ended up opting for insta360 sticky mounts as they are a bit larger and looked less sketchy. You’ll see in the video! :) hope to see you over there 🙏
Insane video bruh! Instantly subbed! I have been looking at Osmo Pocket 3 from quite some time before as well for a vlog & cinematic shot setup for personal use instead of GoPro or Insta360... This is something new application I found it's awesome! Plus I like the fact that you're an Alpinestars and Shoei guy 😄
Awesome work! FYI also have a cb650r and destroyed my phones camera within ~10h of driving. It‘s the high frequency vibration of inline 4 that are troublesome. So I recommend to act fast before its too late. Keep up the great work.
The set up is really good. And actually the “wobble” part can be used in some scene, fo a trancition for example. This is really good tho, thank you for the inspiration
Great 1st test! Mounting the camera horizontally should reduce the shake. A small section of a "pool noodle" could act as a sleeve and help to dampen vibrations, mount that to the bike and slip the camera in.
Great video. I have the Pocket 3 but I wonder if it should be more secure. I have a One X 2 and do not worry about it but this one has some moving parts.
Get the Tilta cage and mount it flat instead of sticking up. Get a real suction cup mount (Tilta also make a nice one) and try to mount it as close to that as possible with a 3/16+pins to NATO clamp to grip the cage toward the center of mass. Also skip the extended battery (doesn’t fit in the Tilta cage anyway). That should solve a lot of the vibration issues. The cheaper solution is to just mount it to the back if your helmet.
Really nice footage, Dji have come a long way since their first version (I use to work near their main base near Shenzhen in China), this looks great. Definitely need that dampener though 😎
Ok, Bro, this is purely a game-changer.... Well, almost. If we can figure out a way to stabilize the camera and reduce the vibrations to nearly zero. This would be absolutely Epic. I am willing to buy one right now, but I want to figure out a way to reduce this vibration. This would make for an absolutely incredible day of riding with a friend. Well done on this. Please keep us posted on any ideas to stabilize better. 🤙🏼
That remix of "hole in the earth". Where did you get that? I love it! Great video man. I would really like to get into editing and am looking for a camera setup. Gave me some great ideas. Love your videos.
Have you considered mounting the camera to you rather than the bike? Guessing it would help a lot with removing vibration. Maybe put it on your ankle for low shots, on your back for mid and on your helmet for higher angle? Just a thought.
I‘ve been inspired by the same idea from the same video! But never was sure if it will work, cant wait to see more of your footages, to spend my money 😂
great idea, wont work as much with my kinda riding i.e. mostly adventure and dual sport. Also, I'd be super careful hitting a pot hole or a speed bump with that setup. Rather go with an Ace-Pro or an X3
I'm still in the process of deciding to get a DJI Osmo Pocket. But man DJI better sponsor you, these shots are insane! Love how much effort you put in these movies, hope to see some more of it
Man your video production is insane, thanks for taking the time to make a review on the Osmo! Definitely interested in picking one up. You should forward the vid to dji so they can see how much promo you got them 😅
Thank you so so much! I just contacted them by email to see if I can get something sorted 🥲 I really appreciate it man, I’ll update you if I get a link or anything!
Thanks man! I’m glad you liked it. It’s in INSTA360 adhesive mount that comes in their motorcycle bundle kit. I know chinmounts also just recently came out with a similar mount. I have a link in description for them. Browse their website 🤝
Can’t tell what kind of mount is on the bike can you do a video on what is exactly attached to the back of the bike, like is that a permanent mount then you have another attachment from the pocket camera ?
Hello, Quel camera utilises tu pour filmer sur le menton de ton casque? Car la qualité est sublime tout au long de la vidéo surtout sur les épingles ou il fait sombre dans la forêt. Merci à toi 😉
Quality video man. Just wondering what would happen if you mounted this to the back of your helmet? The neck is one of the most advanced vibration dampening systems around, removes the majority of the bikes vibrations?
Hey dude, really enjoying your content. Great to see some aussie riding content! How are you finding the cb650r, im pretty torn between the older cb650f and the newer cb650r.
If you don't put or use some kind of vibration damper on the setup, you will mess up the focusing over time. The z-mount might be good idea but again your increasing the weight and will probably need a new place to mount the camera for better stability and for the camera not to fly off the bike. Also the wind could affect the bounce/balance from the z mount, making the footage useless. your onto something. Try mounting it to your passenger peg area with strong selfy stick, and see how that works out.
Yes I came to this conclusion aswell, at the end of the video I talk about vibration dampers and other solutions and you are spot on. I’m definitely gonna figure it out 🙏
If I remember correctly, the old osmo pockets had this spring like hand held mount that compensates for up and down movement or basically the Y-axis. If you look up 4th axis stabilization for osmo pocket you’ll see what I’m talking about. For dampening, the phone mounts have that triangular dampening thing, maybe could be rigged? Anyway good luck!
Ya when i owned the original osmo 4k, I bought a z mount that worked great. I guessing something similar or some type of dampening system like quadlock has but bigger for a drone might work. But at that point, you will need this system clamped down or bolted to axle or subframe, I wouldn't trust it with 3m tape lol. Honestly though, keeping this system on a car is probably the best option. Not much room on the bike and the suspension on a car with 4 points of contact is way better than the bike with only 2 points.@@siardyhome1418
The mount that clicks on came in the creator combo, and the sticky mount stuck to my bike is just a GoPro mount. But I won’t be using that again to sketchy and risky. Will be changing that for the next time.
Hey mate. Great video. The song at 0:17 I couldn't find on your play list. Can you share the title? Thank you! *EDIT:* Actually nvm, I used google song search. It's Waste of Love by Strlght if anyone else is interested.
Hi Jay, I just recently found your channel! I love your work! would you have any advice for a freshly beginner motorbike digital creator, like me? I am currently looking into getting a Insta360 X3 to record while I ride. I currently have a Sony zv-e10 camera, I use to record stationary videos, but looking into getting a camera for roller shots, as well as a chin mounted go pro or insta360 Ace Pro. Any Thoughts?
yes vibration from bikes do tend to kill the optical stabilizer, usually phones' cameras get destroyed if you try filming while it's mounted on the bike. You can maybe study something to lose some of the vibrations through the mount tho edit: i didnt see the last bit and you covered what i said, i'll look forward to the next video to see how this works, i might also do the same thing tbh...
I believe you could achieve the same result way more easily (and even cheapier) with a insta360 in a stick mount. I adapted a insta360 stick on my S1000RR single seater, maybe it helps you, because you are already doing a great job with the editing!
This is true but the camera on the osmo pocket is a lot more ‘cinema’ like then the 360 camera’s plus you can add ND filters to the osmo and make it look buttery smooth with motion blur 👀 also I’m interested, DM me on instagram 🤝

Ah yes the brand new crossplane r3 I've not seen one in person yet but I heard they sound really good XD
