Congratulations Marc and Kathleen, I am glad you found your apartment. As for which one I choose, Agua Azul would be my choice as well. That view from the balcony is amazing.
Know both places well. Can see how it was a tough choice. I would have taken Agua Azul. , too. loved that Saturday market and it is a short drive to Oldtown. I feel like you guys are so much like we were when we came. Great down to earth videos your making! Looking forward to watching how it goes for you there... Thanks.
Thank you so much. We already spend some time in Versalles so it’ll be nice to get to know a slow pace local neighborhood. Look forward to many local eat videos lol
I find the luxury apartments too modern and plain, a very cold vibe. I prefer a more traditional and local vibe. Agua Azul for me, who needs a pool when you can swim in a beautiful, turquoise ocean and sandy beach? As far as restaurants, you will most likely be invited to fiestas and local cookouts in a neighbourhood once the people get to know you, and the kids will play and enjoy piñatas! You can enjoy the restaurants on your way to the beach! 😊❤
We agree! That’s a big reason we moved to Agua Azul! Although our apartment lacks a traditional touch it makes up for it being in a great neighbourhood. We have already taken part in MANY fiestas being here lol
Thanks!!! That's not a bad choice at all. I would say renting in either Versalles or 5 De Diciembre for 6 months would be ideal - both are very well located with lots to do.
We live in Versalles and love it so I would have picked Versalles but it sounds like you picked the right place for you guys! Hope it turns out to be everything you hope for. Congratulations you guys! Wishing you much happiness in your new home. 😊
Hello, just subscribed to your channel. Heading down to PV ( well NV this time ) in a few weeks for our 14th trip. I'm enjoying your videos! thanks from THunder Bay, Ontario...I think that Agua is the better choice. That area is way nicer and has more of that local feel
Felicidades on your new Apartment. I too would pick Agua Azul; to immerse oneself a local neighbourhood is the way to go. No deck/terrace would be a deal breaker for me.
We lived in Versalles ( the house Olive by Rueben is now in) and went to the Saturday market at least twice a month. Love some of the housing in Agua Azul but never really got to know the neighborhood. So am very much looking forward to you sharing more of that area of PV! And congrats on finding a new home!
I also would have chosen Azul. The amenities and modern appliances etc are nice but the place you chose has way more personality and cool Mexican vibe. Good choice!
Ugh! It's so cringy to hear how touristy it is now. My neighbors were goats and a rooster when I lived in Versailles 23 years ago. 😅 Before that, I was over in Viejo Vallarta. But, i was thinking of renting a place for a few months, and this was helpful! Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.. admire you both for fulfilling your life dream.. and making the best of it.. wife and i will be in puerto vallarta next april hoping to stay at the buenaventura.. i saw your last video walk you did from there.. enjoyed it.. we love PV as well. Do you have any other better hotels to stay at near the Malecon.. thanks.. we are from toronto as well.. we live in etobicoke..
Thank you for watching al the way from Etobicoke :) We do miss a nice Etobicoke Sanremo bakery, Costco and Ikea run lol On or near the Malecon we have only been to Los Arcos in Zona Romantica and Buenaventura. Location wise and from what we experienced with our day pass Buenaventura is a great choice - food was excellent, vibe was right and its close to everything.
@Morelifediaries the Sanremo bakery is on Royal York road..I have driven by it many times but never stopped to try their bread or pastries.. I should check them next time.. Thanks for your info on Buenaventura.. the wife and I will stick with the Buenaventura..westjet goes to Puerto Vallarta..will book in the new year for April..Hope your car is mechanically sound now.. I do agree with you the stone roads can really be hard on the cars..You and Kathleen and the kids have a great.. week.. all the best .. enjoy the beautiful weather.. there.. Richard and Savi
No no no, not Versailles, my wife and I have decided to stop following you. Ha, just kidding. Regarding you asking for our comments, we thought you would select Versalles because of the kids school and library as you mentioned, but also giving Kathleen the 2nd bathroom, the air in each room, a pool to help with heat and a laundry room, as that is a must for us. But your reasoning for Agul Azul made sense because as you mentioned, it's the reason you moved to Mexico and we can understand that. If did also give you the air in the rooms, but I can agree with the view (from what we could see) and the storage closet space. And a great price, congrats! Thanks for bringing us along on your journey!
LOL it was honestly such a hard choice for us. The Versalles one had so many good things and a great price but we went with what felt right. We can always move to Versalles next year 😎
Ok, serious question. Every expat community I have ever visited is overflowing with Canadians. Why are so many leaving Canada just out of curiosity. And thank you for your videos. :)
Thank you 😊 I know that a lot of retirees are coming here now that were previously going to Florida because the insurance and overall cost of going there has increased. As for younger people and families: quality of life, cost of living, politics are probably amongst the top reasons. With the ability to work online now for a lot of people they can choose to work fro wherever and Mexico is amazing and it’s somewhat close by!
Hey guys, I hope your getting moved into your new place and your happy with it? I have a question for you about me getting a one bedroom Apt in Versilles for about 800-1000? Possible?? How do I start.
@@Morelifediaries Hey guys, love your latest Podcast. Want you to know I found a perfectly great 1 bedroom, like new, Apt in Versalles in my budget and exactly what I wanted!! Only downside is that it’s a third floor walk up!! There’s always a “but” I think I will handle it! Thanks for the suggestion. I move the first week of Nov. after that we’ll get together for coffee! I’m glad you love your new place!
You made a good choice for daily interactions with the local people. The first apartment was nice but seemed more tourist like overall. Your choice will be better for your children and fun for all of you. I am looking forward to the next video.
Congratulations Marc and Kathleen, I am glad you found your apartment. As for which one I choose, Agua Azul would be my choice as well. That view from the balcony is amazing.
Thank you 😊 once we get a little patio set we’ll be living out there
Agua Azul seems a wonderful option! Loved the view from your new terrace ❤ best of lucks in your new chapter !

For a first time renting an apartment in PV I would have went with Versailles. Thanks for the video.

Thank you 😊 we love Versalles too and thankfully are often there. This allows us to ge to know new neighbourhoods
Aqua Azul for sure. Love that balcony.

Private outdoor space is nice
A must for us!
Congratulations for your success by finding best for you and your kids.
Thanks 😊
I also would have chosen Azul. The amenities and modern appliances etc are nice but the place you chose has way more personality and cool Mexican vibe. Good choice!
Yes absolutely 😊 thanks for watching
I'm glad you picked that one. Neighborhood is very important, and the other one was too modern? Now you'll feel like you're really in MX!
Yes exactly!!!
Good choice!
Thanks 😊

Sounds amazing! I (Marc) came 26 years ago with family but I don't remember much lol
@Morelifediaries I went as a teenager on vacation w/ my mom and just... stayed. 😅 Congrats on finding a place, though!

Thank you 😊 we think so too
Thanks for the update. I enjoy following your channel. Hello from Ottawa Canada 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Aqua Azul for the win🎉
🔥🔥🔥
For me I would choose Col Versailles especially if it has AC. But we all have different likes and family situations.
Versalles is great 😊
Agua Azul was a great choice. Close to the hills. How long of a walk to the beach?
Thank you 😊 About a 20 minute walk to the playa.
Felicidades
Muchas gracias ☺️
Versalles !
Versalles is awesome 😎

Thank you :) best thing to do is search on facebook marketplace. Adjust your pin to Puerto Vallarta and search for departementos!!

Thank you 😊 and it definitely was. A lot of snowbird stay in the area as well. We’re looking forward to making some local friends.
Is your accent French Canadian? ( the husband)
Oui Oui it is 😝
That is amazing you found a place. It does look like a comfortable living space. You will also be near El Salto Waterfalls.. Congratulations..!
Thank you 😊 it’s a few minute walk to there and there are so many other hikes. It was definitely a selling point for us.
