It's amazing Mae has never acted before. Her performance, playing a version of herself, is incredible: vulnerable, charming, frustrating, incredibly engaging. Can you be a newcomer in your early thirties?
yes, we are always new, no matter our age- its super cool :)
Mae, Joe & co. created such an engaging series - I really hope they receive the green light to film a second season.
Us too, fingers crossed!
The part where they played "motion sickness" by Phoebe Bridgers right after a scene with Mae and Scott was such great attention to detail!
I watched the show twice and still can't get enough of it
so do i , i loved it
@@gabrielajgonzalez163 their vulnerability is just spot on!
1:57 "Oh myy goddd" Mae is turning into her Mum!
I stumbled on this series. I haven't seen anything so honestly written in such a long time. What a joy to watch. I can't believe Mae isn't an actress. I'm trying to limit myself to a couple of episodes at a time. What a great cast! Thank you Mae!
We agree, such a great show! Fingers crossed for a second season.
There's something very watchable and likeable about Mae.
great questions, great answers! Love that we can still have great interviews in the age of social distancing
Thanks for watching!
The only problem with Feel Good is that you are left starving for more after it's over.
My partners and friends dream of Mae presenting more comedy or even music from isolation. Is there some BBC content with Mae? Mae's Guilty Feminist contributions are also awesome. ...Starved for representation, I guess, like they said. I grew up on "My So-Called Life" (Wilson Cruz continues to be an amazing human, also played Angel in Rent), but there weren't ever any characters that identified with non-binary experiences so explicitly till recently. It's so crazy to grow up without any ability to describe the expierences you are having, without any allowance.
Mae brought myself and one of my partners here! We subscribed to Xtra immediately.
That's wonderful, thank you for subscribing! We hope you enjoy our other videos.
Mae came to my attention through LOL Canada. Then I googled her, RUclipsd her and learned about her show on Netflix, stumbled onto this as she is now showing up on my RUclips feed. Life is weird, a very talented Canadian Comedian has to go to England for me to learn about her. Thanks for the interview.
Thanks for watching!
I loved the show so so much!! It was so relatable for me. I've probably watched it like 3x already!! Thanks for this great show!! More seasons please!!
0:26 "But I really don't wanna sound like Madonna" hahahahahaha, yes Mae!!!!
Still haven’t been able to find a better show than feel good

It’s too good! I am planning to read her book too!
What excellent and insightful questions! Such a good interview

I really enjoyed the interview. Mae, I loved your honest answers. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching, Maria!
i stumbled upon this video looking for Mae Martin stand-up and i am SO impressed with these interview questions. Amazing job! Best interview i’ve seen in a while!
Yeah Mea, you are great!! You're on your way and here to say, stay happy everyday!! ❤😀I like to rhyme, it's how I shine. 🌞
This was a wonderful interview, comprehensive, intimate and discussed many intricacies! great work!
Thank you so much for watching!
Day 10 Quarantine; Day 1 Hunger Strike for more Feel Good.
We're hoping for a second season, too!
Great interview! Love Mae and Feel Good is amazing! Coming from the states-Midwest!
Thanks for watching and commenting, Cassi!
I'm surprised they've never acted , they were really good in their show. But also being a comedian is akin to being an actor, in a way you're kind of acting, or putting on an act.
Mae's performance was amazing in Feel Good. Thank you so much for watching!
when she said 'hola argentina' i just melted lol
Did she? Omgg
same when she said "γεια σου"
9:27 "hola argentina" mi yo más nacionalista y popular patriótico nunca se sintió más orgulloso, tanta adrenalina que podría recuperar Malvinas con un tirachinas
Great interview! Mae's answers always seem very thought-provoking and genuine
We agree, Mae was a great interview. Thanks for watching!
Exceptional interview, thank you. Instant subscriber. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I didn’t see the bi-phobia much in Feel Good. I did notice that George would say stuff to Mae as if Mae was the guy in the relationship. Like when they went to the party and she revealed that she wasn’t out to her friends. I don’t think you would say ‘ I promise to tell someone we are [insert naughty word]’ if I was dating a girl. I don’t think I’m explaining this right... I think sometimes when bisexual women date each other, they still have to get over the mannerisms and thought process and words they would use when dating boys who are supposed to be considered one track minded. I kinda almost feel like thats why bisexual women call each other complicated. Ok, thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Sorry if I have offended anyone. I just have a lot of love for good writing.
I mean, I saw alot of erasure after George came out, her friends were all asking her "so you're gay now?" and things of that sort, as if it's something that's like "opps, I'm gay now, might go back to being straight" when it obviously isn't the case. I guess that's be considered biphobia but yeah there wasn't much, but there was some and it was quite noticeable in my opinion, with Mae people just assumed she was a lesbian because of her haircut and George being treated as if she had become gay all of a sudden.
I actually think Mae’s character was quite biphobic toward George. She implied that George’s feelings towards her weren’t real and that she wasn’t really gay because she had only been with one woman. When George sees her set, Mae jokes about how “my girlfriend is straight.” I mean on one hand it was Mae’s own insecurity about her gender expression but on the other hand I think it was very invalidating to George’s feelings.
I think people (not you, but plenty of viewers) can have difficulty understanding the difference between art and entertainment that portrays something, and that same art actually taking that point of view. When a character does unlikeable things, that doesn't mean the show condones it. If every piece of art I consumed only showed perfect people behaving perfectly, I would be quite bored. Art can indeed have a point of view, and Feel Good has plenty of points to make, but saying 'the character Mae said something biphobic' or 'George's friends were biphobic' is quite different from 'Feel Good is biphobic', and I have never seen any argument that was valid in my eyes that the show itself is biphobic.
Dani shay I'm not a boy I'm not a girl, damn Mae's fucking good.
The whodunit set at a house party sounds like an ace TV show premise
