No, the Florida flag is a gorgeous piece to hang on a wall. It’s plenty distinguishable on the flagpole at distance. The closest flag to it is Alabama, but Alabama is just a no symbol. Fitting for that state.
Washington’s flag may have a seal, and words, and a picture of George Washington, but it’s very recognizable because it’s *literally the only green flag in America*
I agree that flags can break the rules and still be good. I briefly mentioned this in the video when I said how Colorado's flag has four colors but is still good. I probably could have gone into more depth, though.
As someone who has lived in Colorado their whole life, I can testify Colorado is completely obsessed with our state flag. Like you said there are hats, shirts, mugs, key chains. Another popular one is people LOVE to get Colorado flag tattoos. It is quite a cool flag indeed.
As a native of New Mexico, it's the same here with our flag. You go to any gift shop in the state, and the Zia symbol is on literally everything. It's also one of the most popular tattoos to get in the state
It's in the hopeless category because if you take out the seal it is literally the original CSA Flag. Google the CSA Flag go to images because the one in the featured snippet is the Virginian Battle Flag. The CSA Flag is literally Georgia's Flag without the seal.
They might need to change the netire thing or maybe leave it as is, because the seal doesn't look too bad. I say that they do a complete overhaul though
yes i live in Georgia, and i think if its "hopeless", its like saying that a homeless person will die of starvation and its body will be thrown into an incinerator to that homeless person
I love thoughtful videos like this one you've made. Maryland has the distinction of having a truly unforgettable flag -- I've made fun of its eye-twisting design in the past, but I'd never call it *bad*, because it does exactly what a flag is supposed to do: represent. Alabama's and New Mexico's flags are my favorites, because they're so simple and striking.
The California flag is quite good. Yes, it has writing but it’s only two words and they are boldly printed and easy to read. Plus the grizzly bear alone doesn’t get across the forceful statement that the word republic does. The Bear Flag Republic.
Montana is only one word, and it's boldly printed and easy to read. That doesn't change the fact that the writing is terrible and an indication that the flag designer failed at the job of making a flag. - Texas was also a republic just like California was. In fact, unlike California, the Republic of Texas was recognized as an independent country for an entire decade, whereas the California Republic wasn't recognized by any other nation and only existed for 25 days. If any state has the right to use the word "Republic" on their flag, it's Texas. But they don't, because realize that they can represent the *IDEA* of a republic on their flag without actually writing the word "REPUBLIC". That's what their star represents. It's the reason why Texas is one of the most, if not THE most loved flag of the US states. - In fact, ironically, California *ALSO* realized that they could use a single star to represent independence because they also have a star on their flag. But... that star represents Texas. I'm not even joking. The star on California's flag represents the Republic of Texas. - California's flag isn't bad; there are much, MUCH worse, but it's not great either. It would be so much better if it focused more on the bear and less on the words. If they really cared about their republic so much they could have done the same thing Texas did: make a symbol to represent that republic.
There are exceptions to every rule. California's flag, in particular, has significant cultural connection with the lettering on their flag. For them, having "California Republic" there is a matter of pride. At this point, the identity behind the letting is strong enough that it now belongs there. And that is what truly makes a flag "good".
Such a simple but well made video. Great sound and visuals, it really shows how much work you've put into it. Awesome video, I'd love to see more. Keep it up!
Washington state is an exception. It's green (distinct color) and it does not have a traditional seal. It has the face of George Washington, which makes sense because of where it gets the name of the state from. The flag stands out from the rest like a flag is supposed to do.
I'm proud of my New Mexico State flag I think it really captures history with the Spanish colors and the Zia symbol really represents heritage and unique and it really shows who our pepole are
I agree. A lot of people consider it the best state flag and I can see why. Being a Colorado native, I'm biased to prefer the Colorado flag over New Mexico's flag, but you guys have a great flag as well.
Chase Vision it’s not ugly. If you’re from Maryland you have at least one item or object with the flag on it. We love our flag. A LOT and in Annapolis that’s all you can see and we love it
I think the Rhode Island flag is under appreciated. It has lettering but only the word HOPE, a very easy word to memorize. Not the name of the state. Also I think the fact that it is a square is symbolic of how it is the smallest state. Maybe that’s just bias but who cares
I'm not sure if I agree with this 100%. I'm Nevadan, and quite like our flag. I actually have a shirt with its emblem on it. The flag might not be the most beautiful from a vexillological perspective but it holds a sentimental appeal. The symbolism is also clear -- there's a silver star for us being the Silver State, the words "Battle Born" indicate that we entered the U.S. during the Civil War, and the Sagebrush is our state flower. And our neighbor to the west (California) might have lettering but from what I see the design is incorporated into t-shirts, drinking glasses, posters, and a bunch of other merch. They seem happy with it. Just my opinion :D I respect those who disagree.
Maryland sorta breaks the " keep it simple rule" bc as a kid I was never really able to draw the flag from memory lol. But it does stand out from the rest of the U.S flags and we have it on pretty much everything; hats, socks, blankets, shirts, sweaters, shorts etc. Us Marylanders love our flag
Living here in Maryland (the state with the coolest flag in my opinion) I can find the flag on literally anything that a tourist would like to buy, and in general that people wear. Socks, Clothes, Cups, Glasses, Things for your car, and even pencils, all can be found sporting the Maryland Flag. It’s because it’s cool to look at and is one of the most distinguishable flags of the US
And it’s history has meaning to it, however controversial. The Yellow and Black symbolizes George Calvert, First Lord Baltimore, the founder of the Maryland colony. The Red and White cross represents the battleflag of southern rebels during the Civil War. Since Maryland remained in the union despite being under the mason Dixon line, many men in the southern regions of Maryland took up arms against the union, and to prevent confusion, used the red and white flag that is now in the modern one as their battle-flag and unofficial ceded state flag.
Donald Trump it sounds awesome, I think it would be cool The to have the come and take it flag and the Texas flag combined to show our history and rebelliousness.
The one flag I disagree on is Alabama’s flag, because it’s the exact same flag as Saint Patrick’s cross. I don’t know if the flag was intentionally plagiarised, but it was made a century after Saint Patrick’s flag and apparently modelled after Saint Andrew’s flag (the Scottish blue and white cross). At the end of the day it’s a very minor problem in the grand scheme of things, but it does kinda irk me.
You could just take away the seal for Oregon and just have the back as the full flag. It is a bit weird but unique for Oregon to have two different sides, and if Oregon changes its flag it would probably just take the back beaver...
Also to make people look at your flag and instantly know it's your country, it needs to be unique. You can see from the USA flag everyone knows it, (apart from malaysia it looks like a copy) and the UK flag, everyone knows that too, that's because no one else has the same flags as you. So it makes it easier for people to know that your flag represents your country.
You know, getting the people of these states from both sides of the isle to vote on new flag designs, something they can ALL rally around, seems like a great way to cool down the political tensions between right and left.
North Carolina is one of the bests to it just has 2 dates which not many people know what they stand for. But if you look up the dates they are a big piece of North Carolina’s history and that’s why I think it’s one of the best and I’m proud of that. I’m also a little biased because I live in North Carolina.
n8nks77 North Carolina seems decent to me. Certainly not top tier, but not terrible either. The way it breaks the lettering principle of vexillology allows it to follow another, be distinctive. If you take the scrolls and lettering away it just looks like an upside down Texas and Texas an upside down NC.
I think he is right about North Carolina’s being pretty good, but not great. I feel like it could use a little redesign, to what I don’t know, but over all it isn’t too bad. Also from the great NC, and the true Carolina.
+name Pennsylvania is only trivially different from Michigan. When waving from a flag pole 100 feet away, the two flags would look identical. I think all the seal flags are terrible, but if I *HAD* two pick which one is the most memorable, it would either be Washington or Louisiana. There's frankly nothing unique about the Pennsylvania flag.
I made my own version of a redesigned PA State Flag. It's a green banner with the Keystone symbol in the center, flanked by 2 stars. The Keystone because the keystone state. The 2 stars because we were the 2nd state, and the Green represents the woods. Because Pennsylvania means Penn's Woods.
How is Alabama a good flag and Florida a hopeless flag? When Alabama is just a simplified CSA flag while Florida’s flag nails every point in the good flag handbook except the seal bit. The red saltire on a white background represents Florida’s Spanish heritage, the white, red and yellow further represent its Spanish heritage as Spain’s modern colors, the sunset background of the seal represents the sun. It is distinguishable at a distance, and it’s basic form is simple. White, red, yellow, Red Cross, white background, orange circle half the measure of the hoist and centered. It’s a middle of the road flag, room for improvement, not the best, not the worst. It does its job and doesn’t brag about it.
But then you think about that C which is Text and another RUclipsr said light separates dark for a good flag. Colorado has The C as red touching blue and they are both dark colors. Sorry to ruin it
you have a bear on your flag!! focus on the bear!! make it bigger, scarier... remove the "claifornia republic" text and just enlagre the bear... that's how i would improve it... you??
I don't think the bear needs to be bigger and scarier, it's fine the way it is. I think I'd remove the text "California Republic" though. That's all I would do.
The Missouri Flag just needs to get rid of the seal. The twenty-for stars in the center, in a circle is nice (twenty fourth state to join, in the center of the country, and the circle pays homage to the original US flag), but the seal needs to go.
Felt like the quality of a popular channel, but then I realized I misread 1.5k as 1.5 million. That's solid evidence you're underrated in my opinion, when I didn't question it until I noticed.
I understand how you can dislike Iowa's flag, but, 1: Our neighbor has put a bald eagle aswell 2: The words mean something 3: It has a sort of simple design. Now I understand where your coming from, it sucks to draw and we had to do it every week in my old school.
Flags don't have to be simple to be good, the same goes for any other art form. All flags have to be is original (even from a distance) and aesthetically pleasing, this can be done with both simple and complicated designs. The flag of Venice is aesthetically pleasing and original, making it a good flag, even if it's complicated. This applies to all art forms, like I said, paintings, music, industrial design, architecture, both simple and complicated designs can look equally beautiful and be equally as effective. The idea that every flag has to adhere to strict rules or it's not good, is a way of thinking that should be avoided in art. Just like with music, there are no real laws that govern if a song sounds good or not, more so very general guidelines, which are heavily affected by culture. The seals on bedsheets designs are bad because they're unoriginal and because they're simply not flag designs but seals printed on blue cloth. Also lettering on flags is fine, I don't know why someone came up with that rule of it being universally bad and why it's being followed like law, it's probably the silliest of these vexillographical rules. The fact California's flag has "California Republic" on it is what makes the flag unique and it doesn't take away from its overall aesthetic. Same can be said for Brazil, for instance, or even the flag of Saudi Arabia.
IMO NY should take one of the city flags that use the Dutch tri color (blue, white, and orange) and put the state seal in the middle instead of the city seal. Definitely better than seal on blue background trash we have now
As a Hoosier, I COMPLETELY agree with your evaluation of the Indiana state flag. I like it well enough, but even as a little girl I felt that it could look cooler. I was never able to draw it accurately from memory back then because the concept is great but the design is a bit too delicate and detailed. I like the alternate flag suggested at 6:53
ok but some flags with seals actually look pretty cool, and no they don’t all look the same, most of the blue ones yes, but some blue ones still stand out as different. new jersey has a seal but it’s one of the better ones with seals bc at least it’s not blue. it’s lemonade yellow and it looks pretty cool and very distinguishable flying. the washington flag is also distinguishable i just don’t dig a face on a flag. also the delaware flag also looks pretty cool, but i’ll say itd be better without the letters on the bottom, it still manages to look pretty ok with a seal. so sometimes these rules are broken and the flags are still ok...
Of course, Colorado, your example of a good flag, breaks two of those five rules. Specifically, it uses four colors, and there is a big letter C on it.
I probably should have talked about this more in the video, but these rules are more like guidelines. Colorado is a good example of when it's okay to break the rules. The color rule is more about not having so many colors that the flag becomes too complicated. Two or three colors are recommended, but more are okay. Just don't put like 10 colors on the flag. South Africa is another good example of when breaking the color rule works.
I think Brazil still works even with the words on it. The rule about no text is there for two reasons: 1) Flags are meant to represent things and if you need to put the name of the thing on your flag, then the rest of the flag isn't doing a good enough job of representing the thing. 2) Text is usually too small to read when a flag is far away In regards to #1, the Brazil flag doesn't say "BRAZIL" in big letters on it, and the rest of the flag is pretty iconic and representative so it's good there. As far as #2 goes, the motto on Brazil's flag is too small to read, so I think it doesn't need to be there. Brazil is still an amazing flag though. It's sort of like Rhode Island's flag; It would probably be a slightly better without the "hope" banner, but it's still way better than all the flags with complicated seals on them.
It would be good if it didn't say, "CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC" on the bottom. Find a way to represent that without just dumping the words in. The Texas flag represents the same thing (though they were an independent nation for significantly longer than California), and their flag is one of the best state flag designs. I'm sure there's something else California could use to represent its once week-long independence.
couldnt be more right about colorado. i was born and raised there and EVERYWHERE and EVERYTHING has the flag on it! i have the flag hanging in my room, got a few pieces of clothes with the flag on it and i even have a headband with the flag design on it. its crazy how much colorado natives LOVE the flag! larimer square has a bunch of flags all lined up down the street and its beautiful! love colorado!
@Cieran Therrien I did my research and may have found the answer. If you don't like reading big chunks of writing, don't click 'Read more'. Really, bear my warning. OK, here we go: Texas' side: Texas is a state in the southern part of the United States of America that joined the union that it is a part of on the 29th of December 1845. But the flag dates back further than that. You see, Texas was actually its own country for about 9 years and the flag was made then. So Texas established the flag in 1836. Fun fact: a flag just before that which had a blue background and a yellow star in the middle was suggested. Chile's side: Chile is a country on the west of South America that declared independence on the 12th of February 1818. But yet again, the flag dates back further than that. Chile used to be controlled by the Spanish Empire until Chile started their War of Independence against Spain. A year before the end of the war, Chile created their own flag that is the same as the one today. Overall: Texas seems to have copied Chile. It all matches up: the Chile flag was established before Texas, Texas gained independence from Mexico which used to be a Spanish colony (Chile was also a colony), that's about it. Bad boy Texas... Please let me know for mistakes in proofreading and misleading facts.
No when you look at the Texas flag you think Texas, when you look at the Chile flag you think Texas. Texas is far more noticeable than chili. Not to mention that Texas invented chili.
Hey man, I just found your channel but I'm already a big fan! I've had so many ideas for videos like yours but have never had the motivation to actually make them. Seeing another person my age putting their ideas out onto the internet is really great. You've inspired me to give my ideas more consideration :)
A case for the Flag of Oregon: Yes it's technically one of the uglier flags with it's big seal, and bold lettering... but I think it's a bit more distinct than you made it out to be. The flag of Oregon is the only flag in the Union to sport two different prints on either side of the flag!! On the front, you have the ugly seal and lettering, but on the back, you have an adorable little beaver, our state animal. Plus we don't use an excessive amount of colors, only two highly contrasting ones. Yes I think my flag needs some work, but I would never put it in the ranks of "bad flags."
Washington has two different prints as well - because Washington on the seal has to face "forward" on both sides, but they can't mirror it because of the stupid text. The beaver is... not particularly great either... and all it really does is make these flags more difficult and expensive to produce...
You call in my States flag ok everyone I know in California loves their flag some people even think it's the best flag in the world so come on man I mean there is some good points But I think the California flag looks good either way Not just ok
California's design was great until they decided to write the name of the state across it. The flag already had a bear and a star on it; the lettering was just so unnecessary. That said, I still think it looks alright. Top 20, easily.
I think California is top 20 for sure and maybe top 10 but just maybe barely at number 10. The lettering and the bear being too detailed etc. I like the redesign California he showed at the end with the bear silhouette. Remember you’re looking at it from far away so all that detail is kind of dumb.
Pfft I can tell Missouri apart from the others. it uses 3 Main colors, with minor symbolism of the seal in the middle. i think its a good compromise between texas like simple and maine like bleh.
Problem is without the seal it's the flag of the Netherlands, so everything depends on the seal. It doesn't belong down with the seal-against-blue-background crowd, but it's only one notch up from that.
It takes more effort to make a good minimalist and memorable design that can be recognized at a distance than to slap as much garbage as you can onto a bedsheet and call it a flag. Like I'm sure actually drawing out Nebraska's flag with its train, hay-bails, riverboat, metalworker, mountains, and all the other parts of the seal would take more effort than drawing, say, the Texas flag, but all that "effort" doesn't mean it doesn't look like shit.
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and subscribe because: 1. It's a good and informative video. 2. You included my local flag, the Scanian flag. I love you for that.
I got a Maine flag idea💡 1: Light yellow back ground. 2: Canton blue with white star in middle. 3: Teal tree with 3 spikes on each side and a teal stump centered on the fly. I like this design and I hope you like it too
I am sorry but as a Californian, WHY THE HELL IS CALIFORNIA NOT ONE OF THE BEST, I mean common bro sure we have lettering but we are way simpler than Maryland and we have a FREAKIN BEAR

I think the Rhode Island flag is under appreciated. It has lettering but only the word HOPE, a very easy word to memorize. Not the name of the state.
Also I think the fact that it is a square is symbolic of how it is the smallest state.
Maybe that’s just bias but who cares
Maryland, Texas, Arizona and California are the best

Just my opinion :D I respect those who disagree.
not to be a triggered viewer but the sheild on the Oklahoma flag does look like a seal it is not a seal
Ok
You're right! I'm from Oklahoma and that is most definitely not a seal. It's an Osage nation buffalo shield!

I think Iowa California and Hawaii are not “just ok.” They’re actually pretty good.
Kolin Martz I agree, but I might be a bit bias due to the state I live in

YES IOWA THANK YOU
Yea iowa is good but the word iowa doesn't need to on the flag
Hawaii has a flag within a flag lol.
The Iowa flag would be great if the text was removed and the eagle was made the main focus.

Yep, We love our good ol’ flag!
Just because they sell it on clothes, does not make it good. Lots of other states do that too. Your point is null and void

I would say Nevada has pretty good potential you just need to blow up the sage and stars to the middle and get rid of the words simple.
Didn't expect this video to be so great. Amazing filmmaking, marvelous editing, and delightful storytelling.
I love my Ohio flag :)
Same here
I finally found a fellow Ohioan
Hello my penant-flagged brethren

I love that Ohio's flag is the only one that isn't a rectangle!
You know, getting the people of these states from both sides of the isle to vote on new flag designs, something they can ALL rally around, seems like a great way to cool down the political tensions between right and left.
Tell the GOP that the flags look like government documents, not symbols of the people.
North Carolina is one of the bests to it just has 2 dates which not many people know what they stand for. But if you look up the dates they are a big piece of North Carolina’s history and that’s why I think it’s one of the best and I’m proud of that. I’m also a little biased because I live in North Carolina.
1:49 you forgot North Carolina
n8nks77 North Carolina seems decent to me. Certainly not top tier, but not terrible either. The way it breaks the lettering principle of vexillology allows it to follow another, be distinctive. If you take the scrolls and lettering away it just looks like an upside down Texas and Texas an upside down NC.
1. I agree the flag is good.
2. I am from NC
I think he is right about North Carolina’s being pretty good, but not great. I feel like it could use a little redesign, to what I don’t know, but over all it isn’t too bad.
Also from the great NC, and the true Carolina.
n8nks77 I'm from NC to
I am from North Carolina too and I think our flag is okay.:-)
I love my state (PA) but it’s flag is horrific. A seal, blue in the back like every other one that has a seal, and it’s just a cluster of symbols
Though, imo, its the most recognizable out of all the seal flags. The horses give it away so its easy to tell.
+name
Pennsylvania is only trivially different from Michigan. When waving from a flag pole 100 feet away, the two flags would look identical.
I think all the seal flags are terrible, but if I *HAD* two pick which one is the most memorable, it would either be Washington or Louisiana. There's frankly nothing unique about the Pennsylvania flag.
PA has a wider seal and the horses are black
I like the PA flag and that it looks like others doesn't bother me.
Fuck you, P.A flag is the best flag.
I love the Coloradan flag. Hands down the best state flag
Mike Rotch agreed
*ahem* hands down the best state

But then you think about that C which is Text and another RUclipsr said light separates dark for a good flag. Colorado has The C as red touching blue and they are both dark colors.

you have a bear on your flag!! focus on the bear!! make it bigger, scarier... remove the "claifornia republic" text and just enlagre the bear... that's how i would improve it... you??
I don't think the bear needs to be bigger and scarier, it's fine the way it is. I think I'd remove the text "California Republic" though. That's all I would do.
6:08
Actually the California flag is in the bad section.
NyleDaBeast No, that's in the OKAY section.
Viva Mexico Sorry.
The Missouri Flag just needs to get rid of the seal. The twenty-for stars in the center, in a circle is nice (twenty fourth state to join, in the center of the country, and the circle pays homage to the original US flag), but the seal needs to go.
I agree with you on that. The colors reflecting French influences and the stars are a nice symbolism without the seal.
Felt like the quality of a popular channel, but then I realized I misread 1.5k as 1.5 million. That's solid evidence you're underrated in my opinion, when I didn't question it until I noticed.
I understand how you can dislike Iowa's flag, but,
1: Our neighbor has put a bald eagle aswell
2: The words mean something
3: It has a sort of simple design.
Now I understand where your coming from, it sucks to draw and we had to do it every week in my old school.
Wyoming’s flag would be really good if they removed the seal.
Take a look at the Australian state and territory flags. They are practically all the same except for Northern Territory. Please do a video on them!
Yeah Colorado!
4:54 we got a Tim flying the mighty Nail and Gear!
WHOOO HOOO!! GOO TEXAS!!! GO TEXANS! 😉😀 #TheTexansSquad!

Really?
It looks like a government document.
5:34 wtf Washington?

So proud to see Tennessee in like every example of solid vexillology
Well, yes, Maryland's flag is easily recognisable but I wouldn't exactly call it simple
How do you have only 300 subs?
Of course, Colorado, your example of a good flag, breaks two of those five rules. Specifically, it uses four colors, and there is a big letter C on it.
The C outlines the sun. Its used as a symbol rather than lettering really
Actually it’s a pac-man drawing not a C
I feel like that's nitpicking
Proud to live in Maryland
Ashton Horstman same
This video is delightful!! Great to revisit 2 years later!!
Awesome video btw!
yea but what about brazil
I think Brazil still works even with the words on it. The rule about no text is there for two reasons:
1) Flags are meant to represent things and if you need to put the name of the thing on your flag, then the rest of the flag isn't doing a good enough job of representing the thing.
2) Text is usually too small to read when a flag is far away
In regards to #1, the Brazil flag doesn't say "BRAZIL" in big letters on it, and the rest of the flag is pretty iconic and representative so it's good there.
4:10 May I get an oof for my fellow Kansans?
*Oof*

My state California according to you is an OK flag
Paula Mais yeah cuz the bear on our flag is extinct and we arent a republic anymore. Lol.
Our flag is good but could be better
Anthony Long the bear barley lived there at all
It would be good if it didn't say, "CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC" on the bottom. Find a way to represent that without just dumping the words in.
The Texas flag represents the same thing (though they were an independent nation for significantly longer than California), and their flag is one of the best state flag designs. I'm sure there's something else California could use to represent its once week-long independence.
Paula Mais I’m kinda mad I mean it’s good but not great

“You see Texas’ flag and think ‘Texas.”
No, you think of Chile.
Yesss lol
I look at both and think "who copied who?"
@Cieran Therrien I did my research and may have found the answer.
If you don't like reading big chunks of writing, don't click 'Read more'.
Really, bear my warning.
OK, here we go:
Texas' side:
Texas is a state in the southern part of the United States of America that joined the union that it is a part of on the 29th of December 1845. But the flag dates back further than that. You see, Texas was actually its own country for about 9 years and the flag was made then. So Texas established the flag in 1836. Fun fact: a flag just before that which had a blue background and a yellow star in the middle was suggested.
Chile's side:
Chile is a country on the west of South America that declared independence on the 12th of February 1818. But yet again, the flag dates back further than that. Chile used to be controlled by the Spanish Empire until Chile started their War of Independence against Spain. A year before the end of the war, Chile created their own flag that is the same as the one today.
Overall:
Texas seems to have copied Chile.
@@gen.washington1893 I see. Very clever.

Hey, I noticed you put my states flag many times (Tennessee) but I think we can all agree that it fits the booklet very well
that cgp grey flag tho
Brian Hove hello internet flag actually, related because it's co-hosted by cgp grey
Well, actually, when I look at the flag of texas, I think "is that the flag of Chile?".
+Egil Stellison *ne ne papa*
Washington has two different prints as well - because Washington on the seal has to face "forward" on both sides, but they can't mirror it because of the stupid text.
The beaver is... not particularly great either... and all it really does is make these flags more difficult and expensive to produce...
This is so creatively made I love this
Massachusetts flag is 10/10
It has symbolism
It uses 3 basic colors
It’s easy to draw by memory
It’s easy to recognize from far way
You call in my States flag ok everyone I know in California loves their flag some people even think it's the best flag in the world so come on man
I mean there is some good points
But I think the California flag looks good either way
Not just ok
So the more effort into the flag is the worst
Sounds legit
It takes more effort to make a good minimalist and memorable design that can be recognized at a distance than to slap as much garbage as you can onto a bedsheet and call it a flag.
Like I'm sure actually drawing out Nebraska's flag with its train, hay-bails, riverboat, metalworker, mountains, and all the other parts of the seal would take more effort than drawing, say, the Texas flag, but all that "effort" doesn't mean it doesn't look like shit.
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and subscribe because:
1. It's a good and informative video.
2. You included my local flag, the Scanian flag. I love you for that.
I got a Maine flag idea💡
1: Light yellow back ground.
