Breathtakingly beautiful. I don't know what it is about David that gives him the ability to just reach into our hearts and grab all of our emotions through singing a song. There are many incredible singers out there, but no one can move me the way David can and does with every single note. David, you are an Angel sent down from Heaven when this world needed you most.
This is the song that my family sung at my great grandma's funeral... i have never heard a better version than this... can you thank David for me please!
I will never be able to thank you enough for sharing this on RUclips. This performance was the start of my journey back to the gospel I love after 8 years of being inactive. God has used this song as a string of miracles and a beacon letting me know I'm back on the right path and in the gospel I love. When things seem hard for me, without fail this song shows up in one form or another, coming on the radio with various artists including David, on my iTunes shuffle, prelude music at church, etc. A reminder that I can be still and know the Lord is on my side.
David is absolutely amazing. Instead of resting, he went and sang to the less fortunate kids who are troubled. I hope those kids have been inspired and somehow would want to make their lives better. David Archuleta is a total, complete, adorable human being--so pure, so good, and unselfish.
I love this song so much. It's given me comfort beyond words. I remember the night my mother called and told me that my aunt, whom I was close to, had commited suicide. It was rainy that evening. As I stared out my window watching the rain fall, while weeping, I began to listen to this song. An overwhelming peace came over my soul. Jesus calmed my storm that night through this song, and I just wanted to say thank you for posting it. So thank you from the depths of my heart. :) -Andrew

I love the charity you show for those faith isn't exactly like yours. Its people like you that are helping our Lord bring all his children into the "unity of the faith" (ephesians 4:13-14). I myself am LDS & was a missionary in Texas once, where there is such religious diversity as Im sure you've noticed. I was so sure I lost my baby a short while ago and I rushed to my chiropractors that lived near me and after several therapys she awakened in my womb and moved again I needed peace this helped me relax after this distressing ordeal thankyou thank you
Can any singer reach into your soul like David A.? He does not sing to entertain the masses--he sings to communicate to each individual what he is feeling about the song & he makes you feel it. His emotive, passionate, soaring voice is one-of-a-kind and so is David. How can anyone say anything bad about him or his talent? I think now that AI is over the public is realizing that they had misjudged this incredible young man all along. His future is so bright, I will listen to him forever.

Sometimes it's a good thing to stop & really listen to one's inner whisperings. Sometimes it takes something like a beautiful, inspiring song, sung by a beautiful, inspiring singer to burn through all the layers that have been built up over time. What an amazing gift David has to be able to reach so many people on their own levels & with whatever is happening in their lives! Because David has opened himself to be guided by the Spirit, the Lord is able to work through him to touch so many others!
The church does not own my life or my money. Just listen to his voice! Can you not hear his conviction, his love for his savior! his gratitude for everything he has been given! Don't ever wish that away from him. He is sharing his testimony through this song, sharing his beliefs.

Thanks for posting this. My son became acquainted with the Archuleta's on his mission in SLC. He shared that when he was out they went to a baptism where David sang this hymn, and the spirit was so strong in the room it was unbelievable. Upon arrival home from the Mission, My son had no idea David was on A.I. and after watching 1 performance on A.I. said "nothing compares to when he sang 'be still my soul at that baptism' he should bust out some hymns for America" . I absolutely love this song. Davids heart and soul are felt. To clarify for some he is singing in the church chapel; however, the program is called a fireside which is held evenings either Sunday or any other week night. David was asked by a friend to give a short talk and he opted to sing too. Tho yes some would say should not have been recorded it is only so it would not disturbe those in attendence. I have personally listened to David singing Be Still My Soul over a thousand times. I Love it.

A woman from Norway named Sissel sang with the Mormon tabernacle Choir & someone asked the choir to raise their hands who have ancestry from Norway or Sweden or Finland. Why can't we just relax and enjoy David's MONUMENTAl vocal skills? He is a truly gifted young man who is sharing his gifts with the world. He has a truly kind and humble spirit and he knows who he is and stays true to his values. Do you realize how rare that is for someone's David's age? Try enjoying him and praying for him more and criticizing him less.
Be proud of Finnish composer Jean Sibelius for creating the beautiful music over a century ago. And German Katharina von Schlegel, for writing the beautiful words hundreds of years ago. And American David Archuleta, for singing this song with spirit and truth for children who really needed it.

I'm proud to be a Latter-day Saints. And i was served as a full-time mission in Philippines Olongapo mission at the year 2001-2003.

He has a truly kind and humble spirit and he knows who he is and stays true to his values. Do you realize how rare that is for someone's David's age? im a mormon too and it's really upsetting when people say bad things about the church and stuff when they don't even really know what we believe in and why
