This is my first year following baseball… I didn’t realize how sudden and sometimes harsh the Trade Deadline could be. Not with JT necessarily, but there are players who have spent their entire careers with a certain team, and then in less than a week find themselves somewhere else.
He's in a better place, now.

It must feel strange for a player to be pulled from a game because he was traded. I guess players know it's part of the game, but I would find it rather unsettling.
I guess over the next couple of days, there will be a lot more of that happening. 🇨🇦
There was one player who was traded during a game and played for two teams in one day. That was in the 80's. I googled it and found that in 1922 the Cubs and Cardinals played a doubleheader and made a trade in between the two games. Both players played for each team that day.

Breaks my that Justin Turner has been traded again. He was the only reason I watched anything about the BlueJays, last year it was Boston, I wish my Dodgers had kept him… But? Business is business.
I know, being a Dodger fan myself, I’m always interested in the activities of our old players. Sometimes the business side of baseball is a little unsentimental.

Listen to Vin Scully, Ross Porter, and if you can find them, there are even games that had Don Drysdale doing color analyzing/commentary or whatever they are calling it today.
Such great memories, and players pretty much stuck with their team for many years.

I see the Jays have another middling pitching prospect.... between Atkins/Shapiro unable to find/keep good pitchers, and Boozy Pete Walker breaking them, Toronto is becoming a pitcher's graveyard.

Jays fans seething, watching their team be sold right out from under them during a game. Especially after the inept front office moves and weak coaching decisions. There’s a team of ex Jays around the league who’s numbers would be playoff worthy. Cavan Biggio immediately started showing signs of life in LA. It’s coaching, coaching, coaching.
