there are actually a lot of little changes i don't really like in this new update.
i'm not very impressed.
i don't like the camera tweaks, they are just way too close to the player, luckily they are allowing you to change it back, probably can't say the same with the other changes such as the perk system.
the new armor for the black ones looks god awful, like i get it, they are using the armor from the show, but the show made some really stupid design choices for some things, especially changes in ethnicity when they should have just stuck with the lore instead.
there is a reason or why there are many reasons why the TV show is doing badly, and i just find it a bit tacky that CDPR would include the bad design decisions in the update when everything was done just fine.
The quick casting of signs? I haven't played for a while it may have been in an earlier update
Guard nerf should've been a thing a looooong time ago. i remember how immersion breaking it was back in 2015 that some plebeian guards are able to defeat a badass master witcher.
Bruh if u ever died to a guard then you aren't as good as the Witcher you're playing 💀
@@theunknown4645 Actually 8-9 overleveled guards with shields + crossbow jerks behind were annoying as fuck and if you did not use potions in a fight you could die very easily. It was worse then Leshen + wolves in the woods.

And now you can sprint forever, I counted 200 steps while sprinting and the stamina bar did not go down one bit!
they did that so the decoction that let u get health while performing actions wont work anymore, but that also means that the werewolve decoction become useless cause it makes sprinting doesnt cost stamina but maybe theyve change that as well, havent check it out yet.
@@majinboo6377 sprinting still drains stamina in combat so werewolf decoction could be useful for fights.

If I remember correctly, the cat elixer was to enable clear vision in absolute darkness. The magic of it being that you don’t need any light source at all to see when using it, far beyond merely having night vision.
I mean changing skill points from 5 to 3 makes it so heightened tolarance doesn't bring your overdose threshold to 100% making Euphoria a lot less viable.

Well yeah, sadly some metas are gone now. Although Igni build I want became a lot more useful.
Yeah not only that but also maximum toxicity is only 232 with manticore bc that was nerfed too and while decoctions only have 50 toxicity now you still can only have up to 3 without negative effects. Aside from those perks and the indirect but intentional euphoria nerf, the whole alchemy tree is pretty much neutered making potions and bombs pretty useless. It has to be a joke to call fcr3 a rebalance mod bc it unbalanced alchemy as whole to what, make signs a bit stronger? They were fine before if you knew how to play the game and built into it. It's pretty bullshit that this mod was forcibly integrated with the patch leaving no way to disable it. It's not like I have been using it for the last 7 years.
Also the grandmaster wolven set got a set bonus redesign, now instead of focusing on oils it targets bleeds 🤔

Guards would attack me in the old versions of the game for stealing. Also one of the alchemy skills allows you to have 3 oils equipped now, was part of the wolven set bonus before.
This was really helpful because a lot of this was a bit confusing when I jumped in after updating and noticed a lot of things I once used was kinda not working the way I remember
Troll Decoction was also changed to give health in combat only after kills, though it does appear to stack.

That feeling when you have played with FCR mod for so long, you forget that vanilla was 5 points per skill.

FCR is mid, Ghost Mode, Redux and Enhanced Edition are much better, FCR was made by an ex witcher dev and it's really just about emphasizing the vanilla vision for progression which isn't all that great as it is so getting closer to it is actually a bad thing

@@writer7997 Exactly, all it did is shift vanilla meta from alchemy towards signs. Which does absolutely nothing for the game.
I still have to play it but I like that they reduced the skill cap from 5 to 3. Glad i don't have to waste skill points just to unlock the next of row skill s anymore and I can give geralt a few different sign modes in my builds.
Yeah, definitely, I mean Potion of Clearance is always there but this is just easier for sure. 5 tier upgrade was too much anyway.
They added a hybrid minimap option that makes the minimap fade away during gameplay until you press the "focus button" (I'm not sure which button that is but I think that it's either the lock-on button or the witcher senses button). Sorry if you already mentioned this.

This was super helpful for me as I start building my skill tree decided which decoctions I choose to create first.
You're really underselling the supercharged glyphs change, they are very strong but only with a full sign focused build with 400% sign intensity minimum. If you put entanglement on your armor you can wipe out 20+ guards with 1 alternative yrden in the Nilfgaardian army camp
This is definitely the new strongest sign build, it does % health damage so I killed both Eredin and the Toad from HoS in seconds while testing

@@danvez5656 Yessir i mainly play on performance (60fps ) tho when im exploring and doing quests and shit sometimes I’ll switch it to ray tracing for a picture or a certain cutscene
@@ericwilliams7945 30 fps is not smooth. People have 3080 and stronger to have SMOOTH, and thats 60+, and on lower res more likely 80-100 fps with dlss. But cdpr did not optimize game well, fps and drops are bad for a lot of players.
Bomb builds from my testing got a massive buff. Green alchemy skills now also buff bomb damage by 15% per maxed out skill, and Heavy Artillery in the General skill tree adds a 3x multiplier to all bomb related damage (e.g. Poison/Fire DoT and Grapeshot).
Manticore armour euphoria northern wind cluster bombs . Game changer
Noice, i will just wait for them to update slots mod on nexus to be able to add more skills in build, to test all combinations. I just hope modder will update the mod.

It used to be that I couldn't face higher level enemies before with red skull icon - meaning swords wouldn't do dmg at all. Now I can while definitely being super vulnerable to their attacks but the fight is manageable still. Is this a new change?
I personally love making a crossbow build. I say “build” but really it’s me equipping any related skills and trying to remember to use it more

Thanks for the video I couldn't understand why I started dying to toxicity with my old build. Guess I'll have to do some tweaking
running no longer cost stamina, werewolf decoction now regen 50 % stamina faster than normal when in combat during full moon (or is it half moon ? cant remember). decoctions cost now 50 intead of previously 70.
My old build is broken now. Thank you for this video and now I know why.
Do the NPC's having sheaths for the swords now a thing added in this update or did they put that in an older update?
I don't know if I'm just doing somting wrong but I rarely use food since it seems like I need to use like 200 food to heal to not even full health so to see it being nerfed is very annoying.

You can enjoy it on PC just fine, people just need to lower their settings and be realistic about their own systems. People with midrange hardware review bombing the game because they can't handle Ultra+RT is dumb as hell. The update looks way better than the old version even on Medium/High without RT, and it'll run fine then.
If you want RT + Ultra then either get a 4080 or cap your framerate to 30. People need to learn how to PC game.
Would love to hear more hidden/secret changes/patchnotes that werent written down by cdpr in the patchnotes.
Flood of anger is my goto skill for a geralt build which uses only combat-alchemy-common skills. This way I have all signs and alternates on hand and can use them as a special mid fight with variety.
Yrden. Combined with ekkimara decoction and dumplings is pretty useful when dealing with multiple enemies.
Excellent compilation. I wonder why CDPR didn't just write and article detailing all these changes for us? Thankfully we have guys like you willing to do the research for the rest of us.
probably because there are degenerates who barely know gameplay mechanics and barely can read but they just read a changelog and they decide to say nah this sucks , I don't want the changes from a certain mod from a random person ,gimme back vanilla !

Anyone else noticed that Geralt does a small jump/overhead attack with his sword alá Witcher 2. He also now says, 'Im gona hang your head from my saddle' - something I've never heard him say before. Also, is it me or does Geralt sometimes hold his sword like he did in Witcher 2?
I don't know if this is a bug on my end, but all trophies are in a Hessian bag.
Some trophies are in a bag, but not all of them should be. (Like wyvern or griffin heads), but all the smaller ones are like the wraiths etc.
Geralt hold his sword in two manners during combat now
Either vertically (new animation) or horizontally (like in the base game)
I just really wish there was a transmog system, i love the ursine grandmaster set but i focus on using signs

Was it this patch that changed running out of combat to use no stamina? Also, this is my 4th play through on death march - the last two were alchemy builds, loved those. We’ll have to see which build I lean into; it’s hard to change from a favorite.
I noticed that you can no longer set an enemy on fire with igni and then throw a dragon's dream bomb to instantly set it off. Not sure if this is a bug or not.
- What about Crippling Strikes? I've read in the mod that it now does normal bleed damage + 125 dmg per second. I have not been able to test it yet (don't have any old savegames on my PS5).
- What about Hunter Instinct, did they fix this finally? It used to only work when you had a crit because you attacked from behind.
- How is bomb damage now with an alchemy build? I see that alchemy now also increases bomb damage.
- At low level the alternate Quen mode doesn't seem worth it. How is it on higher levels?
- What is the max Toxicity you can get now? It was 280 with all recipes (if I remember correctly), that means it's now 190? Decoctions now apply 50 Toxicity, so you can savely jug 3 of them and still use potions, albeit you go over the (190*80%) save threshold of 152. But that would be okay with Fast Metabolism. It's a nice balance.
In a way, eating helping with regeneration makes sense for a Witcher. You give the body more material to repair itself with. The missing biomass doesn’t magically appear (eh, mostly).
Umm... The part about Witcher seeing in the dark... Do you only mean brighter nights? I find myself using cat potion much more indoors after the update. It seems like RT lighting is sometimes quite brutal during the night indoors. Previously I used it only in the darkest caves. Now every cave requires cat potion, even some buildings.

It's not because of RT, I play without it and it was dark as hell in some caves.
I can't find the Gourmet ability under General on ps5, does anyone know If it's still around? Or unlocks further as I advance in the game?
Playing on Xbox so I don’t have the slowness issue that PC has but there are some other annoying issues. 1) every time you loot there is 1 second delay where Gerald can’t move. 2) trying to back away from a fight/attack, also very slow and sometimes just difficult. 3) combat movement seems a lot more sensitive. I twirl and “fly” across space a lot more. Will need to practice more to get accustomed to it.
Im on pc and ive noticed that delay before moving again once ive stood still, its annoying
i am on pc, i thought i was the only one who had this issue and just ignored it. workaround i found is to double tap movement key.

I dont know if this is a bug but if you equip the Full set of Forgotten Wolven Armor you get an increase of 9 points in your stamina regeneration, I have the School of Griffin Skill point equip and 13 out of the 16 I have equip are all for signs, it went from 47 to 56, I have my forgotten armor upgraded to Grandmaster as well
Okay I tried playing with it and combine with Grandmaster Griffin to get the double casting sign bonu

I still get the 9 points increase in stamina regen and now I can cast signs twice thanks to the Griffin armor bonus

Yeah, noticed it only with guards though, most likely not to kill them. Not sure if it's new though, might be.

@@noah4868 You can fight a Doppler during the contract quest Skellige's Most Wanted but for some reason he didn't drop his mutagen. Maybe they fixed that, though I wouldn't count on it.

Is anybody else having issues with the combat audio issues on PS5? The audio when fighting enemy’s are almost muffled/nonexistent, It happens more when I use the steel sword. It’s really immersion breaking. Especially when it goes from really quiet when in gameplay, then is super loud in cutscenes..
I was having the same issue on Series X. If you're using Dolby Atmos in your audio settings you need to change it to "uncompressed". Check your PS5's audio settings.
Nice to have videos explaining the new features because I can't play the damn game. I get 25fps on 1080p low settings with a 1050 ti (v1.32 I get 50+ fps on medium settings)

@N7 Andy I have a 1660 and I can run everything on ultra+ except shadows which I turned down to ultra and I get 50-70 fps. I also updated my drivers which helped a bit.
@@N7Andy But even with the 3060 that I have, I can't even seem to make the game work, it crashes instantly the moment you load a save. It's very weird. Maybe I'll wait a few more days, or just install the game again, even though I was using an already clean install.
Have you tried running it on Dx11? I'm also using 1050 ti with i5 7400. I got stuttering before, until I changed it to Dx11.
Biggest thing I've noticed was that the Grandmaster Wolven Armor has brand new set bonuses that are based around bleed

Because of the way they reworked the skills I can finally do the Swirl or Rend sword attacks lol

Some builds are nerfed btw, for example you can't get to 100% toxicity without losing health anymore. It's capped at 80% now. Euphoria also has a lower buff amount
Forgot to add that rend was also nerfed since you have a small cooldown after using it now.
Also i've noticed that Tolerance from alchemy got nerfed from 100% to 80% following the 3 point from 5 change.
It's a way of nerfing Euphoria since it's pretty broken.
After beating the game twice for 100% and wanting to play it again now, I am a little peeved that I can't abuse active Quen shield of deathmarch but also excited to see how the new buffs would affect playing deathmarch
if you completed the game twice and still need to spam quen to get through the game on any difficulty level then theres something wrong somewhere mate
Use both potions for health, reduced damage mutation would be most useful also. Freeze/burn bombs. Its also a bit challenging on Hard until proper armor and swords are found.
@@cez_kor relax I just mean that I love the game but I played it so much already that it would have been handy to use quen spam on death march for steam achievements. But realistically this dsnt bother me at all, I'm excited to try different builds

Can someone tell me if glyphs words is still strike to your bank acount or did they make it cheaper?
The horse movement is tolerable but It can't reverse. Striking doesn't seem powerful enough. Maybe more vibration or sound effects would fix that.

@N7 Andy It's almost not worth using them now, especially on Death March where some enemies can virtually one shot you now. Just using swallow and White Raffards now.
I like the slots mod so I can have all the abilities active at once. I don’t like that the skills I earn in the base game aren’t always available and it makes no sense either gameplay-wise or lore-wise. Geralt isn’t a Pokemon who can only remember four moves. He’s a superhuman killing machine.
How did you get that round centerpiece in the middle of your character tree
If you are referring to mutations that's unlocked when you start Blood and Wine expansion or well during a quest there.
What's that white-handled sword you're packing?
Protective coating has been nerfed from 25% to 15% resistance. Meaning invincible builds with ursine armor are gone. Which is a good thing.
One of my favorite small changes was making an upgrade for saddle bags available early.

If my euphoria build is down a decoction I don't see any reason to use manticore anymore. That was pretty much it's purpose.

Yes! They fixed that and hopefully the djinn on Yenn’s quest cuz it had the same problem but I’m not there yet but did do the rats and it’s fixed

Can you make it auto select the correct sword? Yes i know silver bars mean silver sword but i cant seem to ever remember in the fight as im to scared on nightmare mode lol
Yeah, in settings under gameplay disable manual sword drawing / sheating and it will pull out the right one
why dont they make the trophies apply those awesome buffs like what that mod does! and give us teleports without having to use the signposts!
So they buffed crit chance on potions and concoctions. I already thought the alchemy crit build was the best one damage wise.
Noticed during the griffin armor treasure hunt . There always only just a ekkimara in the cave but now there’s also a level 20 leshen in there now too. This happen to anyone???
I played through the game a few months ago and also ran into the same high level leshen. So not new, just a bug I think. My theory is that the caves run underneath the forest where the leshen spawns and his aggro range detects you through the ground and he teleports to you lol
It's a common bug. Head back sometime and save frequently. Reset if he teleports under
I somehow managed to kill the leshen even in Blood and Broken Bones difficulty. Certainly seems like you can agro him because I agroed him outside the cave, fled, waited for him to give up chasing, entered the cave and there he was.
Wait, they lowered the fall damage distance? I've fallen from like 10 feet and insta died many times, hopefully that's just the bug he mentioned and will be fixed at some point.
If you go to the barber in Novigrad close to the Oxenfurt gate and ask for a buz on the side except ponytail there is a new cut scene where Gerald tell the man that's not the haircut he wanted and you get a new haircut. Unless i miss that before i'm preatty sure it's new.

I think there's nothing to "fix" there, the PS5 simply cannot handle it.

Yes, not all but most changes are now included directly into the game
They didn't fix the horse. You can leave roach a mile away, get I to combat, and he'll still find you and run circles between you and your opponents. Also, he still will be running straight and for no reason just run into a tree or jump off a cliff, or my favorite, just stop while crossing a bridge during the races.

Just a quick question, I ported my save from PC to xbox and since then the textures on NPC clothing in certain places like, hats, pants, sleeves and accessories has become really blured and low poly but its only in cutcense. I wanted to see if it was the save so I started a new game went to talk to a NPC who was effected by the bug and the textures were fine so I assume its the save that has the proplem. I was wondering if anyone else had expierienced this and if they have whether they had a fix, becasue it really off putting to look at in cutcenes and its kinda ruining playing again with the new update.
It’s just a bug with the new version, started with a fresh save on the Series S and I’m getting the same issue.
Damn, that's a strange bug. Sadly I dont have xbox so have no idea. My advice is go to Witcher official forums and see under technical support if you can post it there, maybe they can help you.
Going to try a fresh install just to see if it will fix the issue, seems to be an issue with just non main quest NPCs, like monster contract givers or random civilians that you talk to.
I have this bug on my new ps5 save. It’s the arms of outfits for some reason and spiderwebs are a little weird
@@neville2308 I’m getting it on the arms of the outfits, some leggings, some dresses, hoods, and oddly enough sheaths on knifes attached to NPCs
For me it still crashes after I try to come back from elven world with Aval'ach and Ge'els it just crashes in loading screen

Has anybody started really testing additional mods yet (outside of those incorporated and green lit by CDPR)? Looking on nexus there are now quite a few prefixed for next gen but I'm wary of using them as well as tinkering manually and definitively wary of using ModOrg or Vortex. Don't want that fresh install hassle. I'm particularly looking for immersive HUD addons to build on the optional HuD elements included. They don't quite cut it. Might have to be patient I guess.

you can switch between all bombs on the fly now so you dont have to go into the inventory for it

@@LastKnownMeal just wanted to confirm something. Before this update, Decoctions doesn't drain life when it exceeds the threshold right? Only potions do but now even Decoctions drains life too
They reduced a lot, and i mean too much health regen from food, it was 50 80 points now it is 10 15 points, so gourmet is basically useless skill. But that 400% regen from glyphs i will definitely use on some sword.

I think there's gonna be a very good build based around the new Forgotten Wolven Armour it appears to make full Aard and Yrden absolute beast mode but then I don't care about Min/Max and meta I like a challenge and to have fun.
I noticed drinking and eating gives you less health than it used to. At least on ps5. Makes the game harder and makes you use potions more which I feel like is a solid change.
Yeah, food and drink were way too strong, so this is definitely a good change.
I haven’t played the game in since august and realized my pork only gave me 15hp instead of 80
