The miracle happened . unbelievable a year later they started filming on 17th April 2023 for episodes in the autumn .and one of them did go into a British soap soon after in Hollyoaks in the UK.
The UK made neighbours a success not their own people

@@karenfranklin7622 …I watched Home and Away when it first started, but didn’t take to it like I did Neighbours, but I’m going to try and give it a go out of desperation. I’m trying to be logical that neighbours was just a tv programme, I’m being silly, but it was the one constant thing in my life that was always there. It feels like a bereavement. How’s that for dramatic 😂 but that’s how it feels. I don’t see my family, the neighbours cast were my family

@@MoonSpinners feel the same I felt lost when I watched the last episode and I have family and pets ! I do watch H and A but it is not the same the characters I can not care about , I have read up it may come back has maybe one off specials or maybe people power will bring it back x
This is truly the best soap ever and everytime i watch it i feel a huge gratitude for 35 years i have been watching and growing up with. Thank you for all you have done and what ever you do in the future we will be right there with you all the way weekdays are not going to be the same ever again x

This show did not deserve to end, what a loss.
Probably because it was on channel 5 and the figures were so low.

Wow, I absolutely loved this. Neighbours was my happy place and my escape as a child and young adult. I haven't watched it for 10+ years but seeing all my favorites again felt really raw. I cried soo much. I'm eternally grateful for the memories and the people who got me through a difficult childhood 💖
Same for me. Neighbours was 25 mins escape each day. Dreamed of living there when I was little. As an adult I visited an old school friend in Oz and for a laugh I visited the set, brought all those old memories back. I owed it to my younger self to go see it 👍so glad I did it was surreal in a brilliant way

Eve was actually part of the crew as well. She was the Intimacy Co-ordinator.

Nice to hear Ned speaking as he didn’t get saying anything in the finale. That was disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing him again and the U.K. episode barely saw him unless you have good eyes lol. Your loyal fans are grieving.
You guys didn’t see his close up when they were watching the video messages in the house and his ‘mum’ Natalie imbruglia (Beth) says hi to him on the video?
@@aries898 no, we didn’t get that in the U.K. but thank god someone uploaded the Australian version to RUclips. I’ve always wanted to see communication between Beth and Ned since Ned first arrived. The Australian time slot apparently had more time to cover. We got an hour and 5 minutes in the U.K.
@@stephaniemcquillan1930 yeh we had 90mins but it was 3 episodes played together with no credits in the middle so at least a few minutes gained in there…. Also the final shot I think was different- we had the whole cast and crew waving at the drone camera not just the main cast like I’ve seen on the international version
@@aries898 we had an episode at lunchtime last Friday and repeated at dinner time then an hour-long episode at 9pm. If they didn’t have to put in so many commercial breaks it would have given more time. Up until 2008 it was on bbc1 which didn’t have commercial breaks. I suppose the commercial breaks were helping to fund it, although it seems it wasn’t enough…

Surely a channel or streaming service has got to pick up some of the episodes and start showing them?? I'd love to see it right from the beginning- I was too young then (only started watching from 92/ 93) so would be great to see them. Plus anything in the 90's- that was my era!
@@sarabeth7415 you started watching around the same time as me! I was 7 or 8. I remember Todd being knocked down and the Martins came for the funeral and stayed until 1999 lol
@@stephaniemcquillan1930 Todd!! I saw him pop up when Susan (I think) was looking through the history book. I was trying to remember how Todd came into it? Yep, that was definitely the time I started watching. Haha, yeah, the Martins ended up staying a long time for a funeral!
@@sarabeth7415 Todd came in before I started watching. He was the nephew of Beverley Marshall who was a ‘love interest’ of Jim Robinson. Paul, Scott and Lucy’s father. I think it was when Izzy was looking through the book when they showed the photo of Todd 🙂

@Cecilia, if it wasn’t for the show’s popularity in the UK AND Channel 5 buying it in 2008, it would have ended ages ago. Most Aussies never cared for it.
Haven't seen neighbours for years but saw thr final episode.
Why didn't they just run with the idea of having the weather on this day in Ramsey Street as being a cold day, as it was, and have everyone dress accordingly. This is supposed to be set in Melbourne, and everyone knows Melb is fricken freezing in winter. Why does everyone have to be dressed like it's the height of summer.
My daughter got married in Melb (23 years ago) aged 18, and had a gorgeous medieval long sleeve dress and a stunning long warm hooded cape worn over the top as she was married in winter. She looked magical. In the real world Australia isn't 12 months of warm sunny days, especially in Melbourne.
Good to see everyone was looked after with a nice warm blankie for in between shooting though.

Yeah It was always perceived as a sunny warm show from day one lol Even when they were all cold as hell filming in winter, It always seemed on screen it was summery. Heard that many times in interviews from the cast. And yes it was all filmed in Melbourne (apart from when they filmed scenes elsewhere), I've been there a few times visiting family and I was shocked how cold it can get during winter.. I'm not used to that coming from Onslow in the west lol. But the constant sunny vibe is what gave the show it's charm imo.

@@katethomas5712 Hi Kate. I had to look it up as I live in Perth, other side of the country, my daughter lives in Melbourne. Ave in winter around - 3 celsius to top of 14C during the day. No doubt you will think that is pretty mild but down here that's pretty cold. There is snow in mountain regions.
It was late Fall, Winter hadn't even started yet, I presume it would of had to be filmed that day despite the weather because everybody was coming, another day wasn't an option.

Neighbours is back in 2023. The new filming begins in late Summer 2023, with Amazon Freevee taking over the rights to the series.
Seeing Sonya back on Ramsey Street proves to me she should still be with Toadie and not Melanie!! But I am so happy more adventures await ahead of us for everyone on Ramsey Street!

That's a great idea
If they do, I hope they issue the classic episodes on Blu-ray so we’ll have sensibly sized box sets (about 6 discs) as opposed to DVDs, which would require about 27 discs per season (not to mention the ridiculous amount of physical space the DVDs would take up across multiple seasons). Once the series transitions to HD though, the disc count can increase to about 20 per season (which is still a lot lower than the equivalent in DVDs).
I strongly doubt that the entire series will be released on disc at all, but I would love to grab the 80s seasons at the very least, and maybe some of the early 90s seasons. I’m not terribly keen on anything beyond that.

I hope we see some of the actor, actress make guess appearance in UK soap ,I don't ever remember seeing a Australian family , in one of the soaps in the UK, the last Australian actress I remember watching was Emily Symons in Emmerdale

Freckles (Chris) is still a good looker. When he was introduced it was satisfying to see a gay character who wasn't a stereotype.
if Neighbours on Netflix then they will have fundings, million fans want Neighbours come back in the future. Netflix need more people joining subscribe.
It always seems strange to see Australian saying that it's cold. Some of the winters here in the UK, things like a high of minus 5c on some of the winter days, the worst I have experienced was a night when it was minus 21c!
Those scenes were in late autumn, and it wasn't even in Winter!

Bloody hell, I was at school when Neighbours began, not see the show in almost two decades, and in less than a decade, I’ll be a pensioner, life sucks! 😂 Admittedly, until this life month I thought Neighbours ended years ago after leaving the BBC! Oh well, life goes on but thankfully the greys haven’t reached my pubes... still thought I’ll share
