THIS IS THE STUFF!! My mom and I were at my grandparents' house one Friday afternoon and SFT was on - it was where Tony had the heart attack and fell down the steps. I insisted we watch on Monday to see what happened and Mom and I both got hooked. I totally remember Jennifer falling through the plate glass window and being all bandaged up and wearing her hair swooped over her face. Oh and I was in love with Scott. :) These clips brought back so many happy memories. THANKS!!!
This is a perfect era for Soaps! I have read about this s/l for many many years & never thought I would EVER get to see some actual clips! Thank You for sharing these gems!!!! The mid to late 70's were & are my all time fave in Daytime! These sets on SFT look really good & the lighting back then was so much better than today's dark approach.
I agree with you. This is really really good. If i were to ever create a soap I'd want to write scenes this good. Growing up I use to hear about this soap and I remember seeing the face of Liza and Travis, but I was a kid and I didn't pay attention to soaps. I watched a couple of years ago some of the episodes when it was on NBC, and my favorite is when Warren Carter starts a fire in prison and everyone thinks he's dead, to me that was the best storyline from that, I wish i could see from 76 and on. I'd like to see the storyline about Dr. Wade Collins and Jennifer Fall through the glass I think it was.
Hey! It’s 2020 and your comment is still there. Just wanted to let you know. LOL!!! Such a great scene with the intense music. Morgan Fairchild was really pretty here.
Thanks for posting these scenes. Haven't seen them in over 30 years. Still can't believe they killed off Eunice and wrote off Morgan Fairchild. Stupid writers.
This was the best episode of "Search for Tomorrow.". Jennifer ended up getting sent to a sanitoriam, but never came back. I watched that show from 1983 until it went off the air in 1986.
yea, all this back-from-the-dead in recent years is a little tiresome..Val DFour, as Walter Curtin on AW, was killed in a car accident; on SFT, accidental gunshot..here on SFT, Ann Williams, as Eunice, died of a gunshot wound; on EON, as Margo Huntington, a blow to the head..nowadays, they would have found a way to resurrect - over and over again..ugh..
I was 5 years old when this happened, and I still remember it vividly;-) I thought it was the real thing! Poor Eunice, and that rotten witch Jennifer...
The only person who could even come close to this as Morgan Fairchild was in this is Kimberlin Brown as Sheila Carter on Y & R and Bold & Beautiful, anyone else agree? and by the way Kimberlin has returned to B & B very recently although I'm not sure for how long.
Omg ...this is a perfect writing class for soap writwrs today....the start...the build up ...the suprose...the mucic...god i miss when soaps were good!!
This soap was one of the best during the mid 70's . Only a half hour long at that time. I remember a story concerning a Wade Collins during the summer of 78 or 79, I believe. He was kidnapped by a doctor and his mistress. They kept him in a shed and demanded his wife pay a ransom. If i remember right she paid the ransom but when the doctor went to release him, Wade jumped him in the shed and the doctor shot him dead. Very sad because he was a main character and a dear friend of Jo. The story carried over into the start of the new school year and I missed much of it. My mom watched all the CBS soaps but this is the only one i cared for. Does any one remember this story line ?
I remember the character Dr. Wade Collins. My mother loved his character. He should have a longer stay on Search. He was a good guy doctor like Dr. Bob Hughes ATWT and Ed Bauer of Guiding Light.
I wanna see Morgan Fairchild fall through that glass patio door again. It was in slow motion and it was really cool. I can still remember the words she spoke right before she turned to run away from the person she was arguing with and burst through the glass. I saw the episode when it first aired when I was 10 or 11 yrs. old. Well I guess that's the only time it was ever aired. And I'll never forget her saying: "when you said you didn't love me, that was the truth! that was the truth! Everything else has been lies, nothing but lies!" And then she turns in a hurry to move away and then BAM! Right through the glass. I think the person she was arguing with was named Scott and he played Jennifer's husband. Can anyone find this scene?
I do remember that episode where Jennifer fell out the window after arguing with Scott. The scene was gruesome as Jennifer fell it was played in slow motion and silent. That scene was aired in July 1975 two weeks after Jo's husband Dr. Tony Vincente had a fatal heart attack after a tussel with a mobster who tried to kidnap a female patient of his. My mother was also a fan of CBS daytime back then. Great memories from then of these soaps. Nothing like it today although their are only four soaps left on the air.
Punkanelly Lovejoy Yikes! That's the scene I was looking for as well. I was also about 10 or 11 at the time. It's the only thing I remember about Search for Tomorrow. I remember Jennifer arguing with a man, the slow motion fall through the glass patio doors, and Jennifer laying in shattered glass with cuts on her, saying "it hurts." Scared the daylights out of me.
Peter and Courtney Simon, who played Scott and Kathy, were interviewed recently on RUclips. They talked about that scene, about how they used “sugar glass” for it, and how SFT maximized the return on its investment in the scene by rerunning it constantly in flashbacks.
I was thinking about this today. When I was a young kid I had some first cousins who were teenage girls and they loved this soap opera. They would come to visit in the summer and the only way I could watch re-reruns of Bewitched was sitting through this soap opera with them. I remember Jennifer Phillips....she was nuts and I also remember something about her getting her face burned or something too....fun times.....
You no why this is so good?,, cause its aloud to play out .in todays soaos this would be split into 4 scenes and lose all impact!!!!! This todays network heads and writers is how to do soap!!! You no when people actually watched!!!!!!
in response to the date query, all i remember is it being some time in November 1976..for those who remember, Jennifer framed John out of revenge for rejecting her - although all of this was going on solely in her mind..John was tried for Eunice's murder and convicted; but before he went to prison, the truth about Jennifer came out..that was in March 1977...
I just saw an interview with Peter Simon and his wife Courtney. They had nothing but great things to say about Morgan and also talked about the glass pane that she (a stunt person) fell through. Morgan is really pretty here.
Yeah, Morgan just turned 72 in February. I was 16 years old when this episode came out. I came home from school & my mother was watching it. I got to see the last part of it when Jennifer shot Eunice, but caught the whole thing on RUclips just now. GREAT WRITING & GREAT ACTING! Congratulations to the outstanding acting of Ann Williams, who played Eunice & Morgan Fairchild, who played Jennifer. Fine acting REALLY good storyline!
I so remember that storyline. Jennifer was married to Scott Philips at the time. I also remember that Scott had a severe drinking problem. Scott, who was divorced from his wife, Kathy, who he was still very much in love, and had a son with, only married Jennifer because she got pregnant by him. Scott didn't love Jennifer. She always suspected this and he pretty much confessed it to her. That led to a big fight between the two. As Jennifer accused scott of betraying and lying to her, she fell through the glass sliding patio door, landing on her stomach. I think she was attempting to pound on the glass in anger, but instead, Acompletely crashing through it. She was rushed to the hospital, but the baby didn't survive. After all was said and done, Scott divorced Jennifer, and reunited with his wife and son.
@harlee490 LOVE OF LIFE was canceled in 1980 which allowed Y&R to expand to an hour. SEARCH was dropped in 1982 to make room for CAPITOL. It moved to NBC where most affiliates didn't air it.

I'm looking for a scene I remember from July 1975: Jennifer Pace (Morgan Fairchild) crashing through a glass door. Can't find it on RUclips or anywhere. If anyone finds it, let me know. CBS showed a Search for Tomorrow commercial with that scene for about a week, and then it was finally aired as the Friday cliffhanger. A lot of talking about sitting in the first few min of this scene. Lol! Guess they had to find a way to fill up the half hour... However, this was when Search was on top of it's game... Unlike the shambles it had become by the time of it's cancellation.
Maybe but Jennifer knew she was gonna kill Eunice and relished every moment of fear and humiliation she wrought during those last minutes.
This was soap opera
