Lots of people are asking about the Ranchero: I didn’t crush it. It’s way beyond reasonably fixing but it does have several easy to sell high value parts, so I took it to the ranch. You’ll see that video coming up later this week!
Spent a couple years at a salvage yard in Pennsylvania,Slates Salvage.Worked on the motor pile ,a huge FREAKEN motor pile.I tore down almost everything you could think of even an old HEMI not 426, had a cutting torch impact gun and multiple sledge hammers ,broke the heads of wood handles had to make a steel pipe handle 8lbs maul. Rotor motors ,aluminum Buick,Lincoln engines ,olds Buick. Had to pull all pistons ,beat them out, all aluminum was taken off and taken to our smelter . A huge barrel of bolts separated, magnesium from VW engines, any carb was thrown in another pile. It was the best job .Wish I had access to all the stuff that I junked. They used me as the engine pull out guy . The sold an engine I’d pull it with everything nice and neat for the customers. We melted down tons and tons of aluminum transmissions into ingots ,45lbs each .What a great job it was.
It’s funny your such a kind person paying people appropriately for there cars where I’m from they give like 200$ for a perfect shape full size car with some minor issues and they treat you like your dirt when they talk to you I wish we had more people like you where I’m from hats off to you for being a gentleman
You are one busy man, there are a few folks still left in this country that do not mind working. I always appreciate your videos, keep 'em coming, thanks.
Silas, you're the master with the skid steer. Pulling things out of the brush and tall grass and placing them with ease anywhere you want them. That stuff must have been there a long time for the trees to grow up around them. Can't wait for the next video to see what else you find on that farm.
From time to time. I take a walk to rid myself of the stress that I get from my job of driving a school bus and after awhile, the stress level drops as well as my blood pressure. On some weekends. I hop into my car just to get out of the house and head to New Hampshire just to cruise and enjoy the scenery.
Good morning, Silas! Enjoyed another clean up video and your talks about your day. I really like the old farm equipment. That spider on the skid steer would have really upset my day. Thanks for bringing me along.
Had a rocky start, but it ended up working out. Like the skid steer. I was thinking how much our cows would love to eat that grass then saw the milo. I don't think the farmer would want our cows in that. :D
Another great clean up adventure, thanks for carrying us along.Silas you never cease to amaze us with the adventures that you come up eith. Have a good weekendand, get ready for your mini vacation.
i enjoy your vids , I'm in my 70's aircraft mech work everyday . its always been funny to me that grown men are afraid of spiders ha! keep the videos coming ,I've learn a lot . thanks
You need to have several go bags full of GoPros and mounts and chargers and batteries, one for every vehicle everywhere so you always have one available.
I'm sorry you had a couple of bad days! That happens when we get so crazy busy. You know my husband has done the same thing with the fuel/money, more than once! I put 2 20 dollar bills in the insurance folder over his visor. Now if he heads to work without his wallet he'll have some money. It would sure be great if we could work that fast, (in the video) but gosh would we be tired 😉 Love when you do that in your videos. Stay safe and GOD bless.
Hey Silas if you run across a 60 travel all I would be interested in part of the body !! From the front door jam to behind the rear door at the window!!😊👍👍👍👍
Although these videos are great to watch , there sad at the same time. Farms being sold and the land being cleared. In a few years videos like this is all you'll have. Because the rel farms will be gone. You do a great job on the videos.
I always enjoy your farm clean-ups. It is interesting to see the old vehicles that were left out in the woods and fields. Do you let folks visit your yard(s) where the older stuff is?
I like that Ford Ranchero. I hope you keep that 1 in your collection on the ranch. If I lived closer I would like to see your collection of cool old vehicles! Take care.
i wondered how good the headlight bezels are on that blue ford there in the trees is, as far as condition goes , mine got damaged by a tow truck driver several years ago.
Clearing the land of junk metal is the most rewarding part of watching your vids. When you transfer one shot up hunk of junk to your land and store it, I can't really understand why. Great videos just the same, and I miss it when you don't post. How do you handle those big propane tanks? Must be questionalbe at the least.
Looks like that trk with the all aluminum trailer should be able to scale around 50klbs net weight. With a gross of 75klbs your load should be around 45klbs net weight. You can buy a scale for your loader for around $4k plus labor to install you will pay for it in less than a year. Working by yourself you have to make every move count.
Hon' it's cool, really, he cleans up a farm! C,'mon watch it with me. Hon'? Sweety? Look at this old truck! Well the dog is watching with me. Bo' come back boy!
At 9:43 into this particular video, Wow I have never seen people work so fast. The music on the video should have been, It’s Been A Hard Days Night, by The Beatles.
I thought it was the law in Kansas that ALL farms are required to have some 1960s and older trucks and equipment spread through the farm! Haha, but it should be! That running and driving 55-57 Chevy needs to be saved! It's not unheard of to see trucks with other brands bed on them, in the PNW either. I love that shot up and stripped out 30s shell! I'd keep it too!
The old truck looks cool from a distance, but it sure needs a lot of tlc. It might make a better donor truck than a rebuildable. $ talks, so I guess the guy with the $ will decide what happens to it.
With cooler weather those clean up's should be a breeze. What's the coolest morning so far Silas? Here in Mesa Az we are in the lower 60's in the mornings but it still heats up in to the 90's. Thanks for sharing your day.
I like the '56 truck. If it is the original engine, it would be a 265 cubic inch. On the front right side of the engine, in front of the head, there is a flat with the engine serial number, plant, year, and type of engine. The serial number started at 1001 each year. The plant was F for Flint Michigan and Tonawanda New York. The year of the engine 1954 to 1957 was the two last numbers of the year. The last is two letters about the engine. A quick check is to look for an oil filter. The 265 did not have an oil filter, unless someone added a bypass filter connected with usually copper tubing. In '57 they started using a full flow cartridge filter low on the engine. Later they went to the spin on filter. The right person would really enjoy the truck.

Keepin my ears on! 👀
Thank you for giving the Ranchero a new lease on life, at least part of her will live on in other Rancheros!!!!!!!

A bad day scraping is better than a good day in an office.
Thanks Silas, another great video. 👍

"Don't hurt the Ranchero!" ,my inner car collector grid out when I saw you approach it from the rear in your mechanical mothra!
Good morning, Silas! Enjoyed another clean up video and your talks about your day. I really like the old farm equipment. That spider on the skid steer would have really upset my day. Thanks for bringing me along.

The cab is really worth something, I am not sure how much but they are often far better than the pickups and you can interchange them.

Look for half dead elm trees while mushroom hunting we live in Minnesota that’s where we usually find them and we love all your shows.
Elms, cottonwoods, and maples are my best trees around here to find them
When I was Scrapping I wish I had a truck like that

A cherry limeade from sonic would help your day go easier.

That Ranchero was nice when it was new!
Two tone paint.
Painted rear view mirrors!
High stylin!
Thanks Silas! If I did your job, I think I would save so much, I wouldn't make much money, i'd have a cool yard though!!
Loving you videos Silas. At least you get to spend most of yours days outdoors.

Keep $20 in the ash tray.
Nice job on the clean up. I gotta ask, how many broken stoves does one need?
Nice tube ford grill.
Hon' it's cool, really, he cleans up a farm! C,'mon watch it with me. Hon'? Sweety? Look at this old truck! Well the dog is watching with me. Bo' come back boy!
Wow, quite the operation!!!!
Love your videos man
Another great video Bubba 👍👊
At 9:43 into this particular video, Wow I have never seen people work so fast. The music on the video should have been, It’s Been A Hard Days Night, by The Beatles.
Hope the Ranchero doesn't get crushed.
👍👍👍
Doesn't matter, great vids.
Great job!
Please save the 67 Bumpside!
Imagine the junk-o-lanterns you could make with those hog feeders
Have you seen cowboy car crusher? He has a rack to stand the cars on to work on them pre crushing? 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍

Get a hold of rick maylender with classic truck rescue he likes them old chevys the year of the flatbed that you got in
Silas I loved breaking cars only we sold the parts then crushed them so we made more profit
keep saving those fords man.
The old bumpside ford grill is $$, you probably know that. Thanks for another enjoyable video
I keep hearing the Benny Hill theme song on the hi speed loading
Good job
It would be cool if you had a magnet attachment for the skid steer. It would save time on all that hand picking of scrap on the ground.
I would love that Chevy TRuck if it were closer to Australia. Classic Truck rescue in Oregon has cabs and so on for those.
First one let see how this one goes always good
@ 14:44, is that a "Red Fish" brand boat? Super collectible.
what you have ,would be my heaven
Another good one !
good stuff thanks
Wearing the new hat👍 could you use fuel from the newer cars that comes in or don't you trust it Silas?🍻
I was wondering can you tell your listeners
What you make for profit on a job like this. Thank you great video 📹 👍
All my life I’ve been waiting for the people to say
Roll the passenger window up in that wheat truck.
That white ranger looks mint lol
That's awesome
If you were closer I would love the old chevy
Chevronational🤣. Spiders give me the creeps but always cool content you bring to the people of RUclips.
I need some parts from that Ranchero, hopefully I can get to you in time.
The old truck looks cool from a distance, but it sure needs a lot of tlc. It might make a better donor truck than a rebuildable. $ talks, so I guess the guy with the $ will decide what happens to it.
Not bad. I wonder what brand the lawn tractor was...
With cooler weather those clean up's should be a breeze. What's the coolest morning so far Silas? Here in Mesa Az we are in the lower 60's in the mornings but it still heats up in to the 90's. Thanks for sharing your day.
Friday morning I could see my breath. Not sure what the temp was
Look on RUclips for classic truck rescue the owner's name is Rick and he collects old trucks like that
Good guess 283!!!
Is it weird that i look forward to the weather updates as much as the crushin ?

ya every time you crush a ford i,m just jumping with joy its great to see a flat ford talk about a flat head
Have you seen Yerty Auto service they have 2 videos of car crushing, 1 like yours & a smaller 1 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
