- FINALLY! My first generation Toyota Celica is up and running smooth! The 18RG engine is equipped with dual side draft weber 45's which can be difficult to get tuned. But after tinkering with them, no more spitting back and straight POWER! In this video, I hooked up my GoPro to give you guys some cool driving angles. I had this engine in a 1984 Toyota 4x4Truck.,it was not good. The mechanic I bought it from put dual Makuni carbs on it, they would never stay in sync. But when they were synced the engine woke up at about 3500 rpm and screamed at 6000 rpm. Not good for a truck, but it was kinda fun. I sold it and got the same truck with a 22RE. Much better.
This is an awesome video. 2nd car I ever owned was 1971 celica back in 1989 and had the 18 rgu swap as well. Good luck on the build

they are building allways bigger cars and there is less place ...in stead of building cars like the celica,
You have tge rarer toyota heads rather tgan the more common yamaha heads

I can do that. I actually just set the choke up so it fires right up when cold👍🏼

@@CM79150 I actually just made a custom manual choke for it yesterday. In a week or so I will make a cold start video and also show the choke👍🏼
