Nasi kandar is rice with variety of curry dishes, very popular in KL and Penang. It originated from Penang, nasi is rice and kandar means to carry. In the olden days, nasi kandar is being sold from place to place, the seller will use a wooden plank carried on the shoulder, with one end, a pot of rice, and on the other end, pot of curry gravy etc.
@@Yasin_Affandiomg that’s sooo cool!! Nasi Kandar I love the meaning of that! You’re so awesome for giving that history lesson two thumbs up for you 😍👍🏽👍🏽

FYI the white curry mee comes with sambal/curry paste that you are supposed to place in soup. First time I've seen anyone eat that while still white colour.
When you have any meal with "Nasi' in the name then rice would be the base item that you should take and add on the dishes to it as the whole meal. Rice is the staple food in this region of the world to soak up all the curries/sauces and never a side dish :-) BTW - Nasi Kandar is rice with mixed dishes and doused in a mixed curry gravy. No plate is the same everywhere as it depends on the experience of the person slinging the curry sauces for their personal mix.
I see! Haha I always get grilled for not eating rice. I grew up with rice as a staple since I'm Asian but I stopped eating rice for personal reasons and to maintain my figure lol. I guess I should eat rice the proper way for the dishes sake and for RUclips!
don't wear shoes inside the house, even on Airbnb, Asians don't wear shoes inside the house due to keeping the house a clean and hygienic place. you don't know what you've stepped on when you're out there, take notes ok
Yeah I get it, Asians typically don't wear shoes inside the house. I'm literally Asian lol. I normally don't walk around the house with outside shoes. I have indoor slippers that I wear. But I guess I didn't remove my shoes and change into house slippers since I'm recording from the moment I walk into the house. But yeah I get what you mean.
Nasi means rice. So if you order nasi kandar (kandar refers to the tool used to carry all the food) and there's no rice, it should alert you that you've ordered wrongly.
Only USD33 per nite for the whole apartment in KL Malaysia??? Sounds Super cheap can't wait to revisit Malaysia on the first available ✈️ right away 😅😅
If you two want to go to a restaurant or something, it's best to ask first, 'pay cash only or cashless'? I like to ask that first. Sometimes I worry about not having cash and so on. I can eat kandar rice there without causing any problems to my stomach.
Nice place! The "curry" mee loses its flavor without the spiciness. You took fish cake and fish balls. Heat level usually around 3 out of 10 when it is on its original form. Nasi Kandar originally from Penang. Its original form comes with steamed rice that is served in a wooden container. The rice is topped with curries, meats, and vegetables. Has side dishes that has pickles, fried eggs, fried anchovies, and sambal. Nowadays it is just a choice of your rice like nasi briyani, nasi minyak or plain rice (nasi kosong or nasi biasa) and cafeteria style dishes. I remember that Nasi Kandar Saddam closed down and moved to a new location near Pos Malaysia outlet at the same area. If you are still in KL, I can list down locations of non spicy food.
Ohh hehe I cannot handle spicy 🥵 Mmm yummy fish cake and fish balls! Oh wow I didn't know Nasi Kandar originated from Penang! Omg it closed down?! I wonder why! And yes I love foodie recommendations! 😋
