    I bought this exact model last week. So far I'm impressed. It does a good job for what its meant for. As far as battery life it lasts as long as my 65 year old arthritic knees will.

      Same here. Bought it yesterday. I did not know it does not have a chain break bar, only a handguard which is fine, thought they were useless on a cordless anyway. Did amazing, cutting felled Leyland Cypress, Bradford Pear. I am sorta like you, 63 and my back wore out long before the battery! 4 months of sitting around isn't good. But now it's Spring, back to work and back into shape...lol

    I got one of these, very nice chainsaw. I have to admit I was surprised at it’s cutting ability. Easy to use, no gas and oil mixtures. I cut up several trees in my yard that had fallen during a storm (Houston) I still had 1/4 charge. I love the design and how and easy it is to handle. It lubricates the chain very nicely.

    Mine works like a normal chainsaw. I'd say like a $130 gas. But with much much more reliability etc... it works much better then my old gas and i do not have to keep pulling on it. i do not try cutting frozen oak though, lol. Im very happy and it is worth the money easy.

    Did you dull the Ryobi's blade before you did those tests? I have the same saw and it's super fast. Way faster and more impressive than what I see in the video. No need to crank on it either.

      I haven't seen any chainsaw cut "Frozen" wood any better than this did, bad choice of wood to do a first cut. And if your trees diameter is bigger than your bar, get a bigger bar.

      I wasn't going to get a 40 volt 14" chainsaw, I was doing great with my 18 volt 12" brush less chainsaw. I liked it so much I just got a upgrade 14" bar and chain from Oregon. It seems to work great and last for a good while. I did however get the 18" 40 volt chainsaw when it came out, it cuts fast with the brush less motor. So for now I will use the 14" for limbing the branches. I went with two ( like new) used 6 amp hour batteries and one 4 amp hour battery. ( Half the price).

    I bought this chainsaw about two weeks ago. It worked fine except that no oil was getting on the chain. I checked the weep hole and cleaned it out with a shop vac with a narrow tube attachment. Still no oil, dry as a bone. I took it back to Home Depot and swapped it out for another one. Brought it home and filled it with bar oil and ran it over some cardboard to see if oil was coming out. Oil was coming out but didn’t seem like enough. Used it for one week clearing brush and, again, the bar and chain were hot and no oil. Cleaned out the weep hole etc.. Still no oil. Took it back to Home Depot and swapped it out for the 18v. It has the manual cap bulb oiler so we will see how that goes. I have a lot of Ryobi tools so I was pretty disappointed with this chainsaw. Interested to know if anyone else has had the same experience.

    • @Impact-OG

      Yes I had trouble with mine too, I swiped mine out for the 18volt brush less model and I love that one. So mine wouldn't cut for shit. I had chain issues and battery issues but the oilier worked ok.

    • @ernesttremblay7037
      @ernesttremblay7037 5 лет назад

      Just started having the same problem. It worked great this fall, I probably did three cords with it. There is a small amount of oil on the interior plate but not enough to get to the chain. I’ve tried blowing out and even ran a small probe through the tube. Seems like this is common problem. No faster way to ruin a chain. Any fixes come up yet?

    I bought one the other day. And I have already cut down or trimmed up 14 trees up to 10+ inches in diameter. Any bigger and I go to my ECho timber wolf. I have found this saw to be very fast cutting. Faster than my ECho 305cs. It looked like the chain may have been backward cutting that log. I tried cutting a tree down

  • @NoSoup4U2
    @NoSoup4U2 4 года назад +1

    I would like to know the real, unedited time (not sped up) of how long it took to get thru that 15" log. I couldn't quite tell what kind of wood that was. Ash or Maple maybe? But time would certainly be significantly longer if it was hardwood over soft wood like pine. I good gas powered saw should go thru 15" of hardwood in under 10 sec's is my guessimation. But that little Ryobi looked like it had a tough time getting thru that in, what looked like a full minute?
    Please let me/us know the true time? Was the saw used before this vid was made? Was the chain dull and/or properly sharpened too?
    Thanks for posting the vid, but to speed up the camera without a timer, doesn't really help us in making an educated decision.
    CHEERS!

    • @Impact-OG
      @Impact-OG  4 года назад +1

      I cant remember what kind of wood it was, but it was well below freezing and the log was frozen so that's why it took so long to cut through.

    Ive ran mine for a few weeks now through various parts of my property for a spring clean up. Its done everything ive asked of it. The charge time is a little disappointing at 2 hours roughly, but it makes for a "break time" to grab a bite to eat, then get back at it. I have 2 batterys for mine. Look, I'm no lumberjack, nor do I play one on TV, but in my estimation this chainsaw is for doing some light trim work around the yard, with maybe, (maybe) some heavy work on limbs and trunks that are 6" at most in diameter. Please stop doing demonstrations on pieces of wood that are longer than the bar! I see all these reviews of people trying to show what the most extreme scenario they can think of for testing out these tools. How about reading the owners manual and taking the manufacturers guidance to heart when putting them to the test? Show what they are "designed" to do, not what will break them. Your tools will last MUCH LONGER when you use them appropriately instead of finding the breaking point right out of the box! I appreciate your channel, but please give your demonstrations a dose of reality. That is what we crave in a review.

    Is the chain on backwards? I have the 18V brushless and it would have cut that log almost as fast. You should have been able to cut that log way faster than that. Something doesn't seem right.
    Addendum: I just watched you cut the 4X4. I don't think your saw is cutting properly. Check that you don't have the chain on backwards. Plus it should not have stalled cutting a 4X.

    That is the worst chainsaw performance I think I've ever seen something is wrong with yours frozen are not chain saws will chew through eyes easier than they will wood I have the 40 V 2.5 :00 amp hour greenworks Then I have gone now and cut trees just as big as that in a fraction of the time that took in it's a 14" blade as well either that change is home backwards or that saw is absolutely terrible after watching this and there's no way I would buy a ryobi unless I saw a cut a whole lot better than that of it I bet you were probably sawing on that for a 1/2 hour or more

      Yeah I did have trouble with it, It seemed to cute ok at first then It wouldnt really go threw anyting, It was really weird, Im not a chainsaw expert but it seemed a little off, My 18 volt one cut better than the 40.

      I have gen 2 Ryobi 40 volt and mine would have cut threw that 14 inch log faster. I think there may be an issue with your chain dull on backwards etc it just seemed like it was not performing as it should?

      @@lichking1951 hey thanks for the comment, the chain was not on back words I'm not mentally handicapped hahahah, and that was right out of the box. and there was something wrong with it. It cut like shit.

    damn dude, you didnt even have bar and chain oil in it. It would gone alot better if you had the oil in it.

      @Impact-OG  5 лет назад

      Yes I did have oil in it, and I prelude the bar, it just doesn't cut very well

      @@Impact-OG Ok well it didnt look like it. I bought that saw and it works and cuts awesome !!

      There was no oil. I've used that saw, you can see the tank is darker when there's oil in it, there's another smoke coming off the chain from friction, and no oil flying off the bar tip. The saw can cut through that log much faster and use way less battery when it's oiled.

    " I cant talk, let me weigh it ,the tool pops out real easy" a fail on all of these and I didnt even watch to the end. FFS if you're going to do a review at least pre plan a little better or else people will not take it seriously and will not check back on your reviews. Now back to class and make things better....
