This Batman suit still looks ahead of its time. Jose Fernandez was and still is a costume sculpting genius. Its no wonder he went on to make Batman and Wonder Woman's suits in BvS.
From a technical standpoint, the suit material will probably not hold up, the neck connector was tough to remove when posing or swapping the eyes, and not the best articulation or split-cut boots...BUT I don't care, I still love them! Really fortunate their hands are interchangeable. The Sonar suit in particular is ripped right from the film, he shimmers so damn well.
I have the set of these two and it's an incredible looking pair of figures. I love the movie and these two are ripped right out of the screen in their accuracy and presence. The material doesn't seem to be as fragile as people are making it out to be. I don't see any problems posing them reasonably.
I pretty much have the same feeling you have. I know it's not the greatest batman suit but looking at them just gives me all the nostalgic feels when I was a kid I wanted these toys so bad and was able to get robin and I remember just feeling like a million bucks when I brought him home and for this reason alone I'd would love to have these hot toys in my collection.
These two figures are beautiful! I have them both. I hope Hot Toys gives us the Forever "panther" suit and Carrey Joker, Returns Catwoman and Penguin, and B&R Mr. Freeze as well... those would all be exceptional figures, IMO.
Love these figures. I was 11 when this movie came out and I still love it. Whatta pair from hot toys. Also the movie was very well received and a huge hit back in the day. It hasn’t aged well and the George Clooney one almost killed the franchise lol.

Once you opened the Box and the Batman forever symbol appear, immediately The Batman Forever's theme played in my head.. One of my favorite Batman movies.
I’m one of those few crazy folk who only got Robin instead of both! I’ve always been a Robin fan since I was a kid, and like you this was my Batman movie growing up. And since space is incredibly limited I am determined to have no more than one of the same character. My Batman spot has been claimed by the suicide squad version, which is just the BvS suit with some tweaks and that’s my favorite bat suit in general 😅 Thanks for the review though! I wish Robin came with some accessories…maybe just maybe they’ll make the black and red suit from Batman and Robin
you'd think that they would have shared some of Batman's accessories with poor Robin. These are a couple of very cool looking figures, those colors pop. As for Robin's "assets," I think there's somewhat of an optical illusion with the color contrast between the red and green emphasizing those said assets. 😆😉
The gadget that you didn't know about is a different type of grapple gun. You see it in Batman Forever on the gadget wall when he puts the sonar suit on. I don't think it's used in this film though. However you do see it being used in Batman & Robin. A scene where Robin and Batgirl are falling and she uses this device to save them both as Robin's failed. It's either called the grapple pincher or Batgirls grapple.
It’s not my favorite movie. But, the figures looked pretty good. They look right on compared to the movie. The look turned out great. The material used for both have some issues to deal with later. Over time there is going to be some degradation. The bending in the joints are ugly. Robin was treated badly as far as accessories. They totally ignored him. Once you set the figures up, I will say it’s definitely a win. They look great standing up. Your reviews continue to just be outstanding. Something I failed to mention countless times before. Plus after watching Val Kilmer in Top Gun Maverick and learning more about his condition, I wanted to get this as a sort of tribute Edit: Holy crap, is Michael Keaton really that short? 😂😂
19:52 Ironic considering IRL Chris O’Donnell is 183cm tall and Val Kilmer is 182.6cm tall. I think they used lifts to make Batman appear taller in the film. 20:57 Micheal Keaton is actually only 175cm tall IRL. So the height difference between his Batman and Kilmer’s Batman is accurate, it’s the height disparity between Robin and the Batmen that’s the issue. Robin isn’t tall enough to be Chris O’Donnell with Val Kilmer’s Batman, at least off screen, but the height is accurate to the film depiction. And he’s not tall enough in comparison to Keaton’s Batman either.

I've been waiting for this review. They look awesome. I love Batman Forever and Val Kilmer in the role. A massively underrated Batman. He's the Batman of my childhood. Batman Forever is such a fun kids movie with hints of Batman's dark psychology and is nowhere near as bad as some folks try to say it is. Except of that booty shot. That was weird lol. And what other Batman movie gives you Batman at the start of the movie??? Suiting up and walking toward that fantastic Batmobile rising from the ground. Ahh. Sweet 1995. Can't wait to have these. Fingers crossed for the Panther Suit someday soon. Robin The Throbbing Wonder lol Too bad accuracy didn't permit leaving the nipples off. I could have done without them.
The booty shot was probably for the ladies eye candy because Kilmer and O'Donnell were heartthrobs during that time. Same for Clooney and O'Donnell. Edit: I agree that it's flat out weird they did that.

They are really good! Can’t wait 👍🏻 nice review Justin
Thanks!
I actually would have loved the first Batman costume from the movie with the Robin. Seems like a more natural combination. I love that Robin a lot so that's why I would rather have only the Robin because I am not a big fan of the sonar Batman costume.
The panther suit. Yes me too
Justin finally you got them. Amazing I am definitely getting the Kilmer Batman.
I've had them for about a while, I have been sick so there was a delay
@Justin's Collection well I hope you are feeling better my friend
masterpieces 👍
They are!
gotta love the batcheeks
Yes!
really beautifull figures, but like you said, its for a museum pose
It is
im surprised hot toys included other hands for batman. i thought robin would have the extra hands for the both of them so you have to buy both.
Haha that would have been an interesting tactic
Hi Justin, I’m not sure did you notice the sonar lens is missing the blue dash in the middle of the lens… I’m not sure did you see it in the movie ?
Oh true!
I wish they would make a panther suit version of Kilmer's Batman.
Agreed!
Awesome.🖤❤️
Thanks ✌️
Happy Christmas Justin!!
Same to you!
Amazing figure!
Yes!
any tips for maintain these rubber suit?
Don’t touch it
These designs were absolutely perfect for selling toys, even if they were in not too great of a movie
Edit: Robin got them assets goddamn
Edit 2: Batman got that ass too goddamn
Lol
Thank you for doing this video
My pleasure!
I BOUGHT ONE!!
Nice!
Robin The Throbbing Wonder lol
Too bad accuracy didn't permit leaving the nipples off. I could have done without them.
The booty shot was probably for the ladies eye candy because Kilmer and O'Donnell were heartthrobs during that time. Same for Clooney and O'Donnell.
Edit: I agree that it's flat out weird they did that.
I actually really enjoy that movie!
