FYI there is context. WCW had bigger stars on the roaster that could draw. Take away former WWE talent like Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Bret Hart, etc. WCW would never beat the WWF. WCW even had up an coming talent like Steve Austin who was actually signed by WWE because of Bret Hart. Bret Hart wanted to have a match with him. WCW had such a good roaster that WWE talent were watching thinking of dream matches and who they could sign from WCW. AEW has not gotten to that point yet, but there is one main guy WWE fans want WWE to sign and that is MJF. HHH was hearing the MJF chants at WWE event.
WCW was way better but to be fair they also had way better resources to work with. The talent they were able to take from the WWF would be the equivalent of AEW getting guys like Cena, Roman, Brock etc today.
This was at Truist Arena in Highland Heights Ky. There are 10,000 seats total. If AEW can’t fill that stadium, they won’t be filling any Stadium. On the flip side, Smackdown will be coming to the area at the end of April and tickets are almost sold out.

They do go to smaller venues. When they came to Charlotte, they were at bojangles arena and not spectrum center which is a much bigger venue. No idea if it was a sell out. I would think it would have a decent turn out since the Carolinas have produced several wrestlers.
I remember going to a TNA show in 2012 and didn't find out it was a double tv taping until i got there. Stayed for the whole +4 hours and didn't see anybody leave. Helps that the show had Sting, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and other stars on the show. But in 2024 its hard to get people motivated to stay when the matches and people involved just aren't that important anymore.
When I was 10 years old, I was at a Smackdown taping a half hour from me and after Smackdown was over, now remember, this was when the brand had the giant fist still, immediately after that, there was an ECW taping and the crowd didn't leave or anything, they stayed.

Yeah but half of the roster is old WWE guys edge, Christian, Billy gunn, Chris Jericho, big cass, samoa joe ect most of that roster usually only do one show a week mainly dynamite or rampage. AEW is cluttered with wrestlers half of them aren't used.

I can say it sometimes isn't even the brand. A lot of people are an hour or so from home and these shows start at 8, the stuff after goes until 11-12 and a lot of people don't want to get home at 1AM on a weekday. When I've been thats why we left, there were still matches we wanted to see but we wanted to beat the traffic leaving the parking garages, and we wanted to be home before 1AM.
The only thing valuable about ROH is the Tape Library. The brand is dead. And dragging it's corpse around is diminishing the perception of the MAIN brand.

That's the issue. Tony doesn't want to build story. He wants to just put out "Dream Matches," so daddy Meltzer can give them their 5 stars and draw 0 dimes in the process. He can go ahead and keep saying everything is great while his average viewership continues to dip. I was pretty excited for AEW at one point. It's just embarrassing now and Tony is not Vince, he's a mark who wants to be buds and nothing else.
At this point Tony needs to pre tape ROH in a fixed location such as Orlando. I get the logistics to leverage one location such as this night (Collision then Battle of the Belts then ROH). But perception is reality. Or better yet, strip down ROH and co-promote it with the hot triple AAA promotions that do Saturday night cards. He may be hamstrung to present Collision as live. If so then again co-promote with a good triple AAA promotion in area. Smaller crowd but sell out crowd would still look good.
When I went to AEW Dynamite in San Diego, TK came out to speak to the crowd before the show started to thank everyone and then once Dynamite ended, to try and get people to stick around and watch Rampage. It seemed a bit chaotic as he scrambled to find the words to try and hype to get the fans excited and stick around. I find it hard to believe that he still seems to be doing this with no true hook or script to entice people to stick around. Its unfortunate that he is close minded to feedback that will help AEW in the long run.
I love AEW & TK, but he really needs to reboot & restructure AEW & ROH. A hard brand split, designating a seperate booking team for each brand & making ROH their own thing with their own studio to be filmed would immediately improve their product. They have the tools & have potential, but the need structure & focus. Everything is all over the place.
He does this at every show. I went to Stings last Dynamite in Huntsville AL and Tony said pretty much said the exact same banter with the crowd, Justin Roberts, and the ring crew. He's definitely using his "Big Boy" voice on the mic lol

It happened when I saw TNA live in 2016 with them asking the fans to stay for the taping of Xplosion and One Night Only promising a battle royal afterwards and it happened at a smackdown taping I went to in 2017 when they asked the fans to stay behind for 205 live and in exchange there’d be an extra special main event dark match (which turned out to be Shinsuke vs Ziggler). Because it’s TK and AEW/ROH it’s pathetic though lmao 😂
They need to have a show for AEW and one for ROH. Turn Collision into ROH Collision. Scrap Rampage and have a brand split between Dynamite and Collision. Have a total of ten titles, five on each brand. AEW World Championship, AEW Continental Crown Championship, AEW Women’s Championship, AEW Women’s International Championship, & AEW Tag Team Championships. ROH: ROH World Championship, ROH Pure Championship, ROH Women’s World Championship, ROH Women’s Television Championship, & ROH World 6-Man Tag Team Championships.

Me and my buddy showed up and all was well, I met Mark Briscoe outside the arena and I was having the time of my life, collision was good and then we get to battle of the belts…. I know this is a lot so I’m apologizing in advance. The security team comes up to us and asks for our tickets, I have no connection in the arena. A minute later 2 big men came and KICKED ME AND MY FRIEND OUT OF THE ARENA. Literally threatened my friend, it was absolutely ridiculous and upsetting. Keep in mind we had watched Collision with ZERO issues, but all the sudden they were freaking out to see our tickets when battle of the belts came along. It was insane man.

Tony doesn't realize that Dynamite is a TV taping on a week night. You already got 3 hours of wrestling entertainment. But if you got to be at work the next day you don't always want to stay at the arena until midnight which means you're probably not going to get home until 1 AM. It's like dude I already got a full evening of entertainment, I don't need to see a ROH taping also.
When I went to Collison in February there was about 6,000 fans and half of the arena was sectioned off. The ROH started from 6-7 and then Collison lasted from 7-9. Afterwards TK did the exact same thing but with FTR and Danny Garcia talking to stay to watch ROH because they were going to be signing stuff after ROH ended.
This is like when Spinal Tap played to a smaller, “more selective” audiences. Is there like 1900 people there? He made a Faustian bargain the EVPs and it has simply fallen apart. When the son of a billionaire is begging, it’s purely pathetic.

Yeah but half of the roster is old WWE guys edge, Christian, Billy gunn, Chris Jericho, big cass, samoa joe ect most of that roster usually only do one show a week mainly dynamite or rampage. AEW is cluttered with wrestlers half of them aren't used.

I can say it sometimes isn't even the brand. A lot of people are an hour or so from home and these shows start at 8, the stuff after goes until 11-12 and a lot of people don't want to get home at 1AM on a weekday. When I've been thats why we left, there were still matches we wanted to see but we wanted to beat the traffic leaving the parking garages, and we wanted to be home before 1AM.
That’s a sad sight to see for an Aew hardcore , Tony should have told the remaining crowd to move to the empty seats in the front
They did that at the start of the show, people were moved to empty seats to make one side look fuller for the cameras
He needs to seperate aew and roh and put an roh show on out of a studio. Or try before the fans stop showing up completely.
The only thing valuable about ROH is the Tape Library. The brand is dead. And dragging it's corpse around is diminishing the perception of the MAIN brand.

I went to an AEW show in Buffalo right after brawl out. TK came out to cut a promo and got booed out of the building nobody thinks it's cool to see him lol. People were leaving while he was talking

That's the issue. Tony doesn't want to build story. He wants to just put out "Dream Matches," so daddy Meltzer can give them their 5 stars and draw 0 dimes in the process. He can go ahead and keep saying everything is great while his average viewership continues to dip. I was pretty excited for AEW at one point. It's just embarrassing now and Tony is not Vince, he's a mark who wants to be buds and nothing else.

At this point Tony needs to pre tape ROH in a fixed location such as Orlando. I get the logistics to leverage one location such as this night (Collision then Battle of the Belts then ROH). But perception is reality. Or better yet, strip down ROH and co-promote it with the hot triple AAA promotions that do Saturday night cards. He may be hamstrung to present Collision as live. If so then again co-promote with a good triple AAA promotion in area. Smaller crowd but sell out crowd would still look good.
When I went to AEW Dynamite in San Diego, TK came out to speak to the crowd before the show started to thank everyone and then once Dynamite ended, to try and get people to stick around and watch Rampage. It seemed a bit chaotic as he scrambled to find the words to try and hype to get the fans excited and stick around. I find it hard to believe that he still seems to be doing this with no true hook or script to entice people to stick around. Its unfortunate that he is close minded to feedback that will help AEW in the long run.

I love AEW & TK, but he really needs to reboot & restructure AEW & ROH. A hard brand split, designating a seperate booking team for each brand & making ROH their own thing with their own studio to be filmed would immediately improve their product. They have the tools & have potential, but the need structure & focus. Everything is all over the place.
Been too 3 AEW shows and TONY always come out to Thank the fans and asks them too stay for either Rampage, ROH or Dark. No meltdown at all !!

It happened when I saw TNA live in 2016 with them asking the fans to stay for the taping of Xplosion and One Night Only promising a battle royal afterwards and it happened at a smackdown taping I went to in 2017 when they asked the fans to stay behind for 205 live and in exchange there’d be an extra special main event dark match (which turned out to be Shinsuke vs Ziggler). Because it’s TK and AEW/ROH it’s pathetic though lmao 😂

They need to have a show for AEW and one for ROH. Turn Collision into ROH Collision. Scrap Rampage and have a brand split between Dynamite and Collision. Have a total of ten titles, five on each brand. AEW World Championship, AEW Continental Crown Championship, AEW Women’s Championship,
AEW Women’s International Championship, & AEW Tag Team Championships. ROH: ROH World Championship, ROH Pure Championship, ROH Women’s World Championship, ROH Women’s Television Championship, & ROH World 6-Man Tag Team Championships.

I went to Collision here in Vegas/Henderson. He did the same speech asking people to stay for ROH. He just wants to have a good look in the background for this show. Not a meltdown just asking people to stay.
I was at this show and Joe let me tell you, I was out through the wringer. Me and my buddy showed up and all was well, I met Mark Briscoe outside the arena and I was having the time of my life, collision was good and then we get to battle of the belts…. I know this is a lot so I’m apologizing in advance. The security team comes up to us and asks for our tickets, I have no connection in the arena. A minute later 2 big men came and KICKED ME AND MY FRIEND OUT OF THE ARENA. Literally threatened my friend, it was absolutely ridiculous and upsetting. Keep in mind we had watched Collision with ZERO issues, but all the sudden they were freaking out to see our tickets when battle of the belts came along. It was insane man.
What the heck why ? Did they tell u why i mean they gotta right u paid for tickets ??

Tony doesn't realize that Dynamite is a TV taping on a week night. You already got 3 hours of wrestling entertainment. But if you got to be at work the next day you don't always want to stay at the arena until midnight which means you're probably not going to get home until 1 AM. It's like dude I already got a full evening of entertainment, I don't need to see a ROH taping also.

When I went to Collison in February there was about 6,000 fans and half of the arena was sectioned off. The ROH started from 6-7 and then Collison lasted from 7-9. Afterwards TK did the exact same thing but with FTR and Danny Garcia talking to stay to watch ROH because they were going to be signing stuff after ROH ended.

ROH needs to be its own show on a different night selling smaller arenas. Let it sink or swim on it's own. Don't demand that the same audience sit through another 2hrs after sitting for 2hrs.
Went to Collision a couple weeks ago. 7pm: ROH 8pm: Collision 10pm Rampage. 4hrs. Felt like we got our money's worth for sure but I was exhausted by the end. Half the croud left for Rampage, I just wanted to see Malakai Black.
