That casting is not square at all. Usually a casting is made additional machine work needs done on it. Machine the back side that connects to the Z acis and at least 1 side. Then bore the hole while its on an angle plate. Also use shimes. Like .003 on both sides where its clamping.
Good progress Joe, nearly there! I think I would have turned the motor mount around, held it in a vice, and marked out, drilled and tapped the reverse side. Better access than the side you drilled from. Maybe you don't have a large vice? Anyway, got there in the end and one step closer, good work.
