Pink Floyd is in a league of their very own. Musical perfection with a little hint of melancholy at times. Although, they have mastered their art. Pretty genius.

You really need to listen to this entire album, a complete record side per session.
It is all interconnected, like a play.
Each record side is an Act in the play. 🤙😎
There are four record sides on the vinyl double album.

The Wall is a concept album. Its a very disturbing story and this song highlights just how powerful the musical imagery can reach.

Listening to just one song from “the wall” is like reading just one chapter in a book.

In the early 70s, "outer space" was popular on tv, in movies and in music. With Bowie and his Ziggy Stardust, T-rex with their sparkly jumpsuits, and even, for one year, ACDC's Angus Young came out dressed as an alien with the antennae on his head (as well as drag, and a gorilla suit before the school boy suit worked). Dark Side of the moon was a giant leap in psychedelic rock's evolution. This whole album's mission is to put the listener on a different planet or floating in space. A little blotter or a rolled herbal medicine would allow listeners to sit back with their headphones and melt away to a better,.........different world with ear magic.

    This is a CERTIFIED BANGER!
    One of the BEST!
I've been a die hard Pink Floyd fan since
1973 when I started listening to them at
13 yrs old. And, Pink Floyd IS, in a league
    of their own. Fact.
    Thanks for this.

When this came out I would listen to this front to back with headphones LOUD.
The Movie is a MUST watch for you now if you want the entire story. (You won't need drugs but it won't hurt)
    Happy belated 4/20+

"The Wall" is one of the best Pink Floyd albums, and one of the best rock albums. And it's not just me saying that.
I agree that there is really nobody close to Pink Floyd. However, having said that, one song comes to mind that, well, if anybody was remotely close, this song would probably be it: "Silent Lucidity," by Queensryche. They also did concept album type stuff, but only this one song would compare to Pink Floyd or specifically "Hey You." That's the closest match I can think of, offhand.
UPDATE: I thought of another song in some ways reminiscent of Pink Floyd's style. "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Rider. It's obviously not the same, and like the other song, parts of it are definitely not Pink Floyd. But other parts of it sound similar.
Pink Floyd is just in their own universe.

Dim the lights a bit, sit in your comfy chair, put your feet up and listen to this album from start to finish. Let your mind travel wherever it will and relax. :D

Good reaction. Do more from Pink Floyd. Anything from their Dark Side of the Moon, anything from Wish You Were Here, anything from Animals and of course, anything from the Pulse Concert.

ACE...Forgive me for stating the obvious, BUT you've heard enough Pink Floyd by now to KNOW that perfection of instrumentation is to be expected....Tank you Misters Gilmore and Wright !!!

I'd tell you to just watch the movie, but they didn't include hey you in the movie.
I had the opportunity to see them in 4 concerts.
    Dark Side of the Moon
    Animals
    The wall
    And momentary lapse of reason.
At the Wall concert they built a large wall between the stage and the audience.
Had a boys choir mixed choir and Orchestra.
Momentary lapse of Reason concert had songs from all albums.
And they had a pig they flew similar to the animals concert. Loudest concert ever attended.
That would be comparing them to the combined sound systems of Black Sabbath Blue Oyster Cult and Molly Hatchet in the same stadium. The concert was so loud they were asked to turn the music down for the second concert the following night.
    🚜🤠🐂

You can do all the songs by themselves, but it's not complete unless you listen to it from beginning to end in the original album version (the track transitions are important)..

HOW COME/WHY IS IT the young black people, LATELY, are into Pink Floyd? Blacks in the 70's- 80's- 90's- 2000's had zero interest in Pink Floyd. Why are the young black people in love with Pink Floyd including other classic rock bands? No one will share their thoughts not because they do not have answers but they are afraid and insecure to answer.
