I think a part of it is because his songs are not too simple for non-musicians and the other musicians can listen to interesting elements of his playing which only they might recognize
FACT - being able to see him was a treat 2 years ago. Got to tap that cut off switch when he leaned into the crowd. So awesome even the toy throwing gifts haha great guy.

I can't believe it took me so long to even hear about Buckethead. I only found out about this amazing musician about a year ago, and I can not get enough of him. And THIS song, in this video, well this is really extra special. I watch all of the videos I can find of him on RUclips, and I never saw him get into the music like he does in this one. The raw emotion... and come on, this song is amazing! You'd have to be made out of granite to NOT rock out to this. I love this video. Buckethead, you make this old rock fan smile every time I hear you play.
I've only been in Bucketheadland for a couple more months that you but I am a convert. What did I do before Buckethead entered my world and flipped it upside-down? I just keep listening to his endless catalogue of songs and when I think I've reached the apex of guitar playing I stumble across another of his masterpieces. I am truly amazed by this guitar god.
I really can't understand all of these naysayers out there that play off like he's nothing special at all. Honestly I've never heard any guitar player out there that sounds like him...I was connected instantly....I've head a shitload of guitar players over the last 45+ years Satiani, Vai, Yngwie, Zakk Wylde, Vivian Campell, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman...on and on and nobody and I mean nobody has tapped into my soul like BH and they're all great in their own respect...but BH is exceptional.....
People don't accept he's the best because he's so prolific. Ignoring the fact that Mozart and other great composers were also incredibly prolific and produced many works.
That's just another reason why he's the goat. Even if half of his music was considered unreleasable he's still got 10-20 times the amount than other greats.

Brian's playing is cathartic for him and also his way of saying thank you to everyone that loves his music. He is thankful to everyone that loves him for sharing himself in his music.
Damn, I NEVER grow tired of watching Buckethead jam. I think everyone should have a healthy dose of #shredfest for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday.
it can be any host of reasons.. i think since hes so tall and is up preforming almost every night for 8-9 months out of the year for the past 20 years his back will take some damage... i herd it was a slipped spinal disk.. (Spinal clock).. hes better now but seems to have less energy some days, the 3 times i have seen him he has slowly decreased the amount of time he spends dancing and how much he does too..

Buckethead's the only fact that inspired me to start over playing guitar 6 years later. You are a fucking god of guitar mann.
he's so into his music! I hope its like that tonight I'm going to see him in an hour!
as an australian i am so incredibly jealous, hope it was good!
The feels. I love aussieland, from vic. but shit man, we miss out on this big time.
I’ve seen him 4 times since I made this comment. 3 autographs, a guitar pick, a bucket he wore, and 4 toys later.
4 years later and I still absolutely cherish this man.

the opening is absolutely awesome!
This guy is ridiculously amazing. Shoulda been in like a top 10 list for greatest guitarists!

I love how he poses for the cameras, when he moves on the stage! :'D

I've never seen him get so into his own playing like at 1:00 , granted that riff is one of my all time favorites. awesome

How is that riff at 4:08 played? He seems to be pulling off of his lowest string, but a tab that I was using had two of same note as palm-muted notes.
