This is my dream car. My dad told me stories about his 57 Chevy back when I was kid in the 70's. I have never owned one but have driven and worked on a few. This 57 is amazing, I hope it has found a good home.
My favorite of all! A '57 Chevy street rod done old school with minimal modifications for safety, ie dual master cylinder, (interesting non power), power steering, and A/C for summer time cruising. That tribal flame paint job is just sweet icing on the cake! I noticed the front fender side detents were filled in as part of the custom look. I would love to own this beauty. Many thanks again for another no nonsense fabulous and fun video.
Amazing. How Chevy hits a home run on that ride design .. Then they come out with that 58 but you start to see the wings starting to come around on the back of the 58.
Yes, place a mat of some kind when bending over a fender of a fine paint job car. What a beautiful example of a tri five car. I have a 2dr hdtp myself, Love it !!! Keep up the good work !
beautiful indeed. love the flamejob, too, it looks exact and genuine. these cars are icons of the 50s for a reason. :) good sound, too, and not too loud. often they will do exhausts that will make everyone deaf, thinking they will give some extra horses; except they don't. they just get on everyone's nerves. :P I hope this machine sold good. :)
Not original but a cool cruiser that's for sure. It's nice to see the stroker in good shape I think definitely get up and move you can afford it you ought to buy it
That sounds more like a really low idle, idle mixture, and the carb needing a going through rather than the cam. It might have a mild performance cam but if you clean up the idle it should smooth out. It wouldn't be that radical of a grind with AC. There was a vacuum gauge mounted in the firewall. I hope you changed the oil.
I think the car next to the Chevy looks like a restored Desoto Firedome V8 circa 1953 that i grew up with. I see the hood is open maybe she needs some love too?
this car reminds me of the 57 from the 1989 catch me if you can movie about muscle car street racers filmed in MN cept that 57 had a 427 dual quad set up.
Carter AFB rights own by Edelbrock. I probably should have known that but I didn't . Beautiful car. I've always liked the Carter AFB. I prefer them on my 327 back in the day. The carburetor float and valve with my first thought because they do not like to set. But in my book they were much better carburetor than the quadrajet.
You might not want to hear this, but the Quadrajet was a superb carb. They can perform with Holley's all day, when tuned correctly. Not many people learned how to tune them.

I was thinking the same thing last night! It has been a couple of months since we were there, so the Mystery oil has had more time to do its magic. IT is worth another try.
How come no one mentioned that from the tags on the front fenders and the chrome strip at the bottom of the trunk lid that it may be an origional fuel injected car? If so that carburetor doesn't do that machine justice. Just the opinions of an old man. Great video and a great car. 👍👍👍😊

It is a late 40s Desoto. Amazing low mileage original. It does need some attention, but it is so pristine I didn't want to touch it.
That 1958 Chevy must've suddenly switched out for an electric motor.
I know it's not the same car but it reminds me of the car in the movie, "Sometimes They Come Back" by Stephen King!
👍👍👍
I'm currently trying to save a very rough 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook. I can't help but notice the background during this video!
That was an amazing low-mileage Desoto. Good luck on your Dodge!

Do you know how much it is going to be sold for …. I am thinking fifty plus
I think $40K.
You have to remember, it is a 150, or a 210 post, it is not a Belair. It is also not original.
What about the car behind it? Is it next? What is a Kaiser? Enjoyed your video
It is a 48 Desoto. It has crazy low mileage on it, something like 40,000. The car is a time capsule. Totally original.
