Wait, At 2:00 , Did that Japanese councilwoman " Sugimara " just say " We still have hot spots upcountry " ? What ? Is she trying to say there are still fires upcountry from the August 8 th event ? Is that right ?

Me too, that's what I heard. And about calling 911, that didn't work out too well for Lahaina.

Councilwoman Sugimura has consistently voted to give developers whatever they want and to vote against environmental, sustainable and water rights issues. She has continually supported our corrupt mayors and the greedy, corrupt business interests who control Maui. She is not to be trusted.

even during the Lahaina fire we were without water but going to the hotels in Wailea, there the water is thrown among lawns and fountains. We must try to give the right priorities

So let me get this right Governor Greene wants to invite tourists back but our citizens of Maui don’t have adequate water or shelter employment or food. Yeah he wants his people to go to work without having the bare necessities of life. How does this feel how does this feel in Maui?

Don’t project such a lack of perspective. The water shortage is being felt everywhere. The water issue has been on-going in Maui for years. What Green is doing is called balance. There has to be water & shelter. There has to be some tourism to allow those employees and businesses in the tourist industry to work, make their money and make that step to normalcy. Not all one way or the other but a balanced existence.
Best you worry about where your water will come from because this shortage is only the beginning of what climate change is going to bring.

Must be another development in the planning, is Oprah Winfrey planning to move their, hope they will not blame Hawaii Electricity?

Stop spreading bs. The property in kula went up to sale. She wanted it because it is next to her property. Make sense. The zoning is agriculture and previous owners are happy she has kept it as ag. It’s a vegetable garden business. No buildings.
But locals were appreciative of Winfrey's efforts, including an organization, Kāko'o Haleakalā, which described how the former TV host came to the shelter to ask what was needed and later returned with supplies.
She took to Instagram to share her thoughts about the devastating fires, saying she would continue to help and to see what was needed "once all the smoke and ash has settled and we figure out what the rebuilding is going to look like."
Rock and Oprah put together a charity. Any adults 18+ that qualify receive $1200 p/mo until that runs out.

Ag land , what about the local people who want to live in Hawaii. So 1 or half acre means crops means food and I know if you put 1 cow 🐄 on an Ag lot means lower taxes, so 1 cow on 100 acre means lower taxes on the whole place. Really Nutz Yea. Must have pull with the Governor Green
