“Before I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep...”. I really hope the Lord did. 🙏🏾🤧
The lyric actually said, "The key to Eden". Which means the key to Heaven, A.K.A. your soul. Good points though, I like hearing other points from other people's perspective. I don't think X actually did sell his soul since he was still experimenting and exploring religions and religious thoughts up until his death. As you said, this is a sort of poetry where he is portraying a character. I don't believe he could've been fooled to believe the devil anyways. But a lot of what X had said happened, he's pretty good at forshadowing stuff.
bruu he literly said "i spoke to a bhophament said he would save me if i gave him one thing i needed" i spelled that wrong look up bohloment and go to images it will give u chills
Mocha it’s “The key to evil”
Savon*
ye he was spiriutal into astral projecting n stuff
I think it’s “Boy, it’s the key to *Eden* .”
It’s “even”
it’s actually both even and eden. X used something called TH fronting where he replaced D or ‘th’ sounds with an ‘f’ or ‘v’ sound. So when he’s saying “boy it’s the key to even” that can also be seen as eden.
its the key to heaven (his soul)
It’s Steven
Late response but key to even meaning if u give me something i will give to u in return
You're viewpoints are really interesting to hear, I hope this channel gets bigger
Really great reaction vid. You’ve enlightened me on this. Bless you.
Thank you for your word 🙏 and for reminding me of the mercy and grace of our benevolent creator
the thing about the devil is, he's a liar and when people say they sold their soul to him that's just having the belief that you lost it. The devil has no power over your soul because it does not belong to him. our souls belong to the creator .God. The devil has clouded your's and many other people, such as mine's vision but when that happens you just have to believe that you'll dig your way out of that hole and save yourself
Finally Someone who actually understands
LIKE THIS TO SPREAD X's MESSAGE
This song was a secret message, let me fill you in. The title, "I spoke to the devil in Miami, and he said everything would be fine" is literal. Miami is where X sold his soul to Satan for fame and fortune, when he was 17 (hence his albums name). I will now go into my take on this songs lyrical breakdown. (one thing to note is that he is telling a chronological story of the "conversation" he has with Satan)
Intro - "It will all be over soon" ---- X was aware that his death was going to be very soon
Verse - "I'm always where the sun dont shine, the tears dont show, wont hurt me now 'cause hearts been broke, i hate myself, but it wont show, i constantly lose all my remorse" ---- he starts off by telling us that before he sold his soul, he was very depressed
"And its ten for the wolf, and three for the shepherd" --- in this analogy Satan is the wolf while X is the shepherd. If you arent familiar with this story, a wolf once stayed by a flock of sheep led by a shepherd for a long time, but never did anything to the sheep. One day, the shepherd left his flock with the wolf, for he trusted the wolf. When the shepherd came back to his flock, they were all dead. Through the wolf's cunning, he deceived the shepherd. Satan deceived X into selling his soul for fame and fortune, but in the end, Satan won the trade.
"and it's one for the sheep who
Led by your leopard, often gave his perception as a
Handle of weapon, took a bite of your apple, give me
All you can offer" ---- In this analogy, X is the sheep, while Satan (or one of his demons) is the leopard. Satan used his PERCEPTION (satan is a master deceiver) to deceive X into TAKING A BITE OF HIS APPLE (or selling his soul), in exchange for all Satan could offer X (fame and fortune)
"now I'm trapped in a changing maze
Setting my soul ablaze, couldn't control the pace
Where is this going?" ---- Since trading his soul to the devil, X is no longer himself, now all he can do is ask himself the question "Where do 'I' go from here?"
"Heartless is recklessness" ---- Remember earlier in the song when X said his heart was broke? Well, because he was heartless, he did not care about anything and was reckless because of it, which led to him selling his soul to the devil.
" it's
War with the pacifist to word of a masochist, I'm
Off of the map," ----- X doesn't know whether to side with God or Satan, so for the time being he chooses neither.
" my Lord, I spoke to a Baphomet, he
Said he would save me if I gave him one thing you needed
"What is this thing?", I pleaded; boy, it's the key to even, yeah" ---- Satan tells X what he wants from him, Jahsey Onfroy's Key To Heaven.... his soul.
"And as I spoke, my fangs were shown
Taken aback, he smiles and tells me
"What you crave will soon be yours
But what I crave is already mine"
Anima vestra
Anima
Anima vestra
Anima" ---- By this point in the song the deal has been made, X sold his soul to Satan. Satan tells X that soon enough he will receive the fame and fortune he craved, but what SATAN craved, he already has, Anima Vestra. (anima vestra means YOUR SOUL).

Never knew it was this deep, thanks man
From what you and this guy on the vid said, selling your soul sounds like it has something to do with the placebo effect. I wonder if that’s how these great people become truly great. Trading something of highest value for a strong placebo effect. It’s all or nothing/ and nothing in the end mentality.
@@horchatadiver you can't sell your soul, but Satan could definitely trick someone into believing they could, so that way he could potentially manipulate them into believing they can't be saved in which would mean they'd never even try to ask for forgiveness because they believe it's too late, and just maybe Satan could manipulate them long enough to where he can make it a reality and they don't get saved.
@@ZeZeMichael hopefully X redeemed his soul before he passed. He seemed like a all-around different guy towards the end. Even going as far as hating his old music.
@horchatadiver you can't redeem your soul. Only Christ can. Hopefully, he put his faith in him.
Great video brother👍🏽
Train Food is another X song similar to this one

very interesting in terms of the concept and about the devil and evil and less God in your life the less love you feel. EYE OPENER

Thank you
No matter where everybody is at in their life right now, or what they’re going through I just wanted to get the message across that it’s never too late for you. X’s death was a tragedy but in his death and his life he expressed to us the love that he had for humanity in the selflessness he showed. He left with us hope in there still being a chance for us even though things didn’t work so fortunately for him. So don’t give up. Please.
Love y’all 🖤♾.

I really think this channel will go far, its interesting and informative to see an actual analysis from a catholic. I reccomend more rap with meaningful lyrics (depressing rap to he specific) such as XXXTENTACION, lil peep, juice wrld. Great video!!
Definitely deserve more subscribers keep grinding
Tanner Campnell he’s a bigot
nah it's just boy it's the key to even..... and stopping because the next word is so deep that it's unspeakable for someone to give that up. the soul.
Key to even meaning you do one thing for me and I do one thing for you
Anima Vestra means your soul.
It's basically where X speaks to the devil, and the devil says that if he gives his soul, then he'll get everything he's ever wanted.
It's a song that really shows light upon musicians selling their souls for fame in a way, and X tries to expose this in the song.

Good video
“what you crave will soon be yours but what I crave is already mine” The demon meant his soul and then he said “Anima vestra”
And in Latin it means ‘Your Soul’
an even trade off.. key to even... soul for happiness. Seems pretty simple
Key to even - his soul
For the devil to even things out with God
It’s means my soul
I think he’s talking about selling his soul
he is
he said it in the song
it says he sold his soul by accident, and he prays that god will forgive him and bring him into heaven
He believed he did but he didn't he can't sell something that isn't his the devil made him believe it but he didn't
(Edit: there's a whole thing about it but, it's too long to put it on here)
@@tensvn9401 how do u do it by acciendent ??

“boy it’s key to evil”

key to even is his soul i guess.
Listen to his first album ‘17’
King Of The Dead By XXX
No it was meant to be “it’s the key to even” but he meant his soul.
The apparition said what I have is already mine, in trade for what x craved.
Being his soul.
This is backed up by his song king of the dead
“Fuck the devil for your wealth, pistol chillin on my shelf”
Now connect the dots.

@@kevinramos8781 probably
@@nanonasone3113 i thought it was the key to Eden.
Its an analogy reffering to how he had a bad childhood and wanted to be successful, so he signed with a label. Labels control everything he does, so he is using the analogy that he sold his soul to the devil to be successful.
He wasn't signed to a label when he made that song... Solomon found him during his late 2016 stint in prison. Get the facts straight dude.
That particular lyric video isn't correct, I think that Genuis is better and give more depth to the lyrics but to only what we think they mean
japczan
bro everyone not understanding the way he says “boy it’s the key to even…” like the demon is saying it as it’s the key to everything, and stops his sentence because it’s too much too even put into words lmao
