I went to West Horsley Place a month ago and i was blown away how it is exactly the same inside as the series! They have basically walked in & started filming - all the tapestries and portraits just as in the show. Amazing. Even the kitchen - tho it is a shell that they fill with utensils etc for Ghosts has their kitchen table in it! Ive been to Downton Abbey too but this is on another level! I even managed to find the legendary chess board hidden in the room where the pawned jewel under the floorboard is. Every nook n cranny u cannot help but go ' oh this is where this bit was filmed ' and everyone acts out bits from the series. Best day ever.
No need to build interiors when the actual house and rooms exist. If it was studio built u wudnt see the ceilings. Its all there at West Horsley Place ❤
I am trying to persuade my hubs and kids that this is just perfect. They think it is a “surface level comedy” but it is so much deeper, but blinking hilarious 😂 x
Same - my husband loves this type of show and I just can't get him to stay awake long enough to watch it! I put it down to the beautiful scenery, inside and out - it's just soothing.... puts him to sleep 🥰
on RHLSTP when Larry says he was probably in a corner zhuzh-ing his hair when he and Ben first crossed paths on HH... he sure can't leave it alone here!
Wow, I did not know that the gang put real history in to the show concerning the mansion. Very cool. I'd love to know more about the house's history now and what other elements of it were incorporated into the series. This kind of detail really makes the show even more special than it is already. Unfortunately, unless someone knows about the original show, brainless viewers probably think the idiotic and unfunny U.S. remake is the starting show and the British series copied it. I certainly hope not, but it would be great to see the inferior trash disappear. I tried watching two episodes (one from each season) awhile back and couldn't get past half of them. Terribly unfunny and cringy.
😂Honestly, they are two different shows. Based in 2 different cultures. You have to watch them as separate things. I imagine the average US TV viewer finds the UK version just as peculiar and 'Englishy'.
@@spiralx6249 Yeah, they are two different shows. One is great, the other cringingly bad. I couldn't even get through one episode from each season of the US version due to the awful humor and bad writing.
@@Phaota - from the few episodes I have seen, it's pretty typical US sitcom stuff. Nicely done by the actors and crew, nothing particularly ground-breaking, though. I wouldn't call it cringingly bad.

obviously they used a real house and use real things
uhhh... definitely not obvious, if you watched the video... just as likely to have done the interiors on a purpose-built designed and decorated set

I’m going when I’m in London next month. Can’t wait.
Kelly u will love it. I stood outside waiting to go in for the afternoon slot & realised (!!!!!!) No trapdoor in the roof! 😂😂😂
Ghosts is a magnificent show the likes we haven't seen for many many years. Bravo!
Ooo, a big shout out for ‘Detectorists’, surely?
Born n raised USA but love British humor. This show is some of the best
When great writing and a great cast get together you get a gem like Ghosts.
especially when they're all doing both!

I agree. So sweet, thoughtful, nuanced, and clever!!
Such a pain for you. It’s beautifully layered sensitive and funny. I always feel sorry for Alison’s husband because he can’t see them.

I’m heartbroken that BBC Ghosts isn’t coming back to the US with the 4th season…I miss MY FAVORITE SHOW
For real, though, pick up a region-free DVD player, they're cheap, then pick up the DVDs. Worth every penny. 👍
i lovvvvve ittttt
Dvd on Amazon?
@@dawnbutcher4851 Amazon UK, yes. I don't believe the US Amazon has season 4 available yet (and of course, it would still be a Region 2 import).
WHAT!?!?! It's never coming to the US or it will air after the season is over in the UK?
I could listen to them talk for hours
also sir walter rielys sevoured head is berried under the chirch opposite the house
Very interesting! Sir Walter Raleigh was born in my neck of the woods. ☺️
god i love charlotte
