I code in Python for a living, but I'm self-taught and continually looking to fill in the gaps in my knowledge-base. Socratica videos always manage to make me say, "Wait! What? I didn't even know that was a thing!" at least once during the video. These are some very insightful tips.
Suggest some good books. Here is a list I have assembled : -Start with : Python Crash course 2nd Edition (2019 no starch press) Learn Python Programming 2nd Edition (2018 Packt ) The Quick Python Book 3rd Edition (2018 Manning) -Intermediate / reference The Python3.5 Standard Library by example (2017 Adison Wesley) Python in a nutshell 3rd edition (2017 oreilly ) -Intermediate/Advanced Powerful Python 2nd Edition (2017) Pro Python 2nd edition (2019 apress) Python3.7 Object-Oriented Programming 3rd ed (2018 packt) Serious Python (2019 no starch press) Effective Python 2nd Edition (2019 Addison-Wesley )
I’m a beginner Python programmer and this channel has really helped me understand some of the concepts from my object oriented python programming class better. These are seriously the highest effort python tutorials I’ve seen on youtube, and I love that it’s not a 3 hour long lecture.
Aside from the graphics, presentation, pace, and humor (which are all done well), I finally put my finger on what allows me to concentrate on these videos. It's the white noise that's injected into the background. The first few videos didn't have that, but so far the rest do. I went on a youtube search for "starship ambience noise" and got a ton of results with nuanced differences in audio. When I need to concentrate, I play one of those videos over headphones and it has the same focusing effect as these python videos.

ahaahaaaaahahahha! This video style legit caught me off guard. Been programming for 6 years and never seen a tutorial take itself this seriously. Ya'll make tutorials like no other, keep up the good work!
I honestly have to say these videos are really good. I actually learn from them. There are other RUclips channels out there that make 'fancy' videos like these to 'explain' coding, but then focus so much on making the video pretty that the content is very superficial. I'm glad to finally come across a channel with cool videos that actually explain something. I am looking forward to the future videos, and most importantly; don't shy away from going in depth into topics!
This is the most enjoyable experience ive had learning programming handsdown. Extremely entertaining not to mention the very clear explanation and the great example. THANKS
I haven't done anything serious in Python in a few years, but last time I checked, true parallelism in a Python process was prevented by the GIL (Global Interpreter Lock). The GIL basically restricted multi-threading to execute only one thread at a time, so that you would never really be able to take advantage of your system's CPU cores.
I had seen many videos on youtube regarding logging in after I am not getting proper ideas. when I had seen your youtube video logging. you had cleared all my doubts. I am thank you.
*Socratica* If I was rich I could donate 2M$ just for this tutorial its brilliant. *I don't have enough money to send but I have so much sympathy and belief in you.* Please continue to share to make the world better place for people like me who get enough of the *weird collage professors.*
Mehmet, this was so wonderful to read. We put a lot of hard work and love into our videos, and it put such a big smile on our faces to read your message. We are so happy you have found us. Keep us posted on your progress! :)
how time flies! 3 years ago, i get addicted to this channel for my GRE Sub Math exam on those abstract algebra questions. Now i pick you guys up to learn production-level coding for interviews!
I straight up just like your videos at the beginning, because I know they will be liked even before watching them. Thank you for these videos! I wish you great success!
Great videos. The information is presented very succinctly. The format reminds me of video game mission debriefing, which for some reason feel a lot more engaging.
Socratica, we know this Channel does not focus solely on Programming, but the approach used for this Python videos have been perfect in blending humour with knowledge and brevity. Please, upload more (Python) programming videos
A song: "the function was named in a way that made sense and could be read by others. No bloodcurdling screams, no need for vengeance. The name made sense, and life was gooood."
I repeat my comments, Your python videos are Informative, and to the point. Beautiful graphics, engaging narration with words aptly woven as topic specific.
The aesthetics reference to old school strategy games cut-scenes, most specifically C&C is marvelous. It was accurately reproduced here. It's even sexy - no derogatory meaning intended. It's also flawless from a practical viewpoint. Thanks!
Im a big fan of Derek Bana channel. But the way you guys/girls are making does learning video is amazing and i love the future theme of the presentation. keep up the work. You got your self a subscriber.
She is a professional actress, probably not a real python programmer, but still, I'm mostly here because of her.. so beautiful, and the scripts are well written too of course. Her thumbnails bait my clicks on a regular basis, such good photos, my brain cannot ignore, need to see more :D
@Socratica - The puzzle at the end of your video..is due to the fact that square root of a negative number gives a complex number. We can detect if disc
great video but one suggestion: Please add a link that includes the example codes you used. Its better than us having to manually type the code while watching your video.
A video on Python implementation of algorithms but definitely in your style, short, precise and to the point, would be great. Also, this was again an incredible tutorial
Hello fellow human. I am singing the song of laughter about your incidental meta analysis of the creativity of function names. It maps directly to my amusement and my gratitude.
some tutorial about pyserial would be great.. also how to find serial port in a running app after port disconnect and what ever the force guides you to add :)

Even though I am pretty much proficient in python, I'm still going through this whole playlist, just be she makes learning more enjoyable

I loved the character. LOL.

I know most of the things covered in this series but I'm still binge watching it just for the jokes and amazingly funny presentation 😂.
omg, if every programming tutorial would be like this, we would live in a better world.
This is not a lesson, it is a masterpiece.
"Write a quick doc string... I'm sure you never skip this step" .... this dry humor
is what makes me keep watching

People were asking me why I was laughing at a video about Python. I turned to them and said "life is messy".

I have just started learning python & I love this extremely enchanting intelligent beauty
Spent 2 hours today trying to read about the logging-module, find tutorials, reading the documentation and ... all explained in 7 minutes! Thank you!
Socratica. please multi threading in python please!!!!
>multithreading
>on an interpreter that strictly runs on one thread
