I do own one of these and it is super easy to do. Interestingly, I can have mine ready to paddle before my friends can untie their kayaks. I do not have any connection with this company but this kayak is life changing for me. I can do everything by myself.
It is easy ONCE you know how to do it. Driving is very "easy" - billions of people know how to do it without even thinking about it, but it wasn't easy when you started. Same thing here: once you have figured it out it takes just a couple of minutes. But because there is no way to learn (nothing in the instructions manual, no explanation video etc.) it is not easy.
@@enricomilovan5543 ENrico: Absolutely. I think you have stated an analogy, not a metaphor, and it is so disproportionate that it sounds more like a sarcasm.
Would you consider doing a video which highlights the attachment points so that folks like me might get a better idea of its strength and be better able to decide between this, the Pakayak, or the Switchblade models, as examples? Would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
@@gerardsss1 Hi Gerry, Yes it is very stable and the boat keeps track fine. The only thing I had to replace was one strap, cause I tightened it too much with the other module. The mechanism of the rudder is really annoying, too. Sometimes it happens, that once the skeg is retracted, it doesn’t move out anymore. So this is a huge problem, especially when you’re out on the water and you can’t get off the boat so easily to fix that problem. So I would say that the construction of it is really miserable conceived. But all in all it is still a great boat and I use it every week with pleasure! Greetings

@@gerardsmulevich6594 Hey, you welcome Gerry! I use it often on river Rhine, which is Germany’s largest river. There are many cargo ships here, which cause high waves when they pass. @@kackalacke66 I bought the solo version. Last yellow one available in the U.S. in November as far as I could tell. I was between the Mercury and the more popular Martini but I was seduced by the reviews of the Mercury bien both faster and stable. I'm 96 kilos 1.89 m and I'm counting on stability. Hey there....anyone from Point 65N reading this? Broken Skeg upon delivery! Mayday! I just received delivery of my long awaited brand new Mercury after 2 weeks delay for delivery due to weather and COVID impact on workforce. I truly believe that it was the last Solo Yellow for sale in the U.S. I checked the entire hull before signing off on the delivery but did not notice two small pieces of black plastic about an inch-square each, triangular-shaped chips floating around loose in the packaging. Turns out the SKEG was damaged, the portion inside the skeg well housing had broken off where the control wire attaches to it. I am dismayed. The Skeg still has spring tension and stays deployed, in its open position. I'm certain it was damaged from delivery, no other indications of impact on the kayak. I ordered (at my own cost) a replacement skeg from Point 65N's website but could not find a single document nor video with instructions for a complete replacement procedure (only for cleaning the skeg if it gets stuck). Do you guys have any material online or that you could email me with precise step by step instructions? I have no idea how to reconnect the control wire once the physical skeg has been replaced. I'm an arhcitect and have a modest ability to assemble/dessasemble things but your design is very carefully thought-out and precise ( I appreciate the level of design in this kayak...) and I would not want to improvise this. Thank you. gerard.smulevich@woodbury.edu
It's actually not that hard. Only time I have strange issues is when I'm on an angle. You do need some strength. Taking it apart is a bit harder. Let the boat dry for a few. Buckles and boat being dry helps a lot. And seems like water between the pieces creates a suction cup. So I let it dry for 10-15.

How about a video on disassembly? Getting the stern off the second cockpit is particularly frustrating.
I wish there was a review of this product not just hundreds of people clicking it together & apart & smiling....

Love these kayaks.
I do have a mercury gtx since one month and it works as easy as shown in the vid. The only negative thing to say is that the boat is really heavy.
kack: After 4 months now...how's it working out for you? Is the kayak as stable as many have said? I am receiving mine by December 3rd (2020)

Is there enough leg room for tall people in reaching the foot pedals? in the rear section of the tandem in particular?
I'm 187 cm (more than 6ft) and have no problems with space in either section. Happy Paddling! Richard
Can you assemble it as a K4 bye just adding sections?
ANYONE who ACTUALLY owns one of these knows painfully well that in realy life it is not even close to being this easy!
I do have one and paddle it twice a week.
