This film is a genuine fan effort. For the most part, the people who appear in this film are Star Trek fans, and not professional actors. They participated in the project for the love of Star Trek. As such, unnecessarily rude comments about "Bad Acting" will be automatically deleted. Thank you!
They did a good job, we finally get to see what leads up to one of the best TOS episodes. Some May nitpick but this fan says their efforts were Satisfactory (as Sarak would put it).
This was an awesome production by fans who did a bloody good job of acting. It was much condensed for reasons that are obvious, but it represents hours of combat of the Constellation against the Doomsday Machine. This is the stuff my siblings and our gang in the neighborhood dreamed about.
Excellent job! It's really neat to see those moments that lead up to the nightmare situation that Decker had to face, knowing his crew was damned. That moment when he had to explain that to Kirk and McCoy in the original was one of the most emotional and dark moments of the original series. Nice tie in to that in the end of this. Very well done all!
The last moments of the brave crew of the USS Constellation, finally told. They and their commander did not die in vain - without their sacrifice, Kirk and the USS Enterprise would never have been able to stop the planet killer.
You know, it's funny (in a sort of way), that the USS Constellation, wrecked as she was, STILL had functioning artificial gravity. Everything else was offline.
To the Captain, officers and crew of the U.S.S. CONSTELLATION NCC-1017…….rest in peace, your sacrifice to the United Federation of Planets and all life forms will never be forgotten.🖖🖖
Nice... a view into the world of the constellation to show what happened to it before the Enterprise arrived and found her adrift as they did in the episode the Doomsday Machine Doomsday Machine is still my favorite episode from the original series this is fantastic work
This honored one of THE best episodes of The Original Series. Good job by all involved. I don't recall other attempts to tell this specific story before. A quite plausible interpretation. Soundtrack was seriously put to good effect. A nice gift for First Contact Day.
When the Enterprise found the Constellation and they were in Engineering, one of the guys said the exact same thing about the anti matter being deactivated. Word for word. Kirk, Scotty and a couple of his engineering crew came. Later they found Decker.
Well done to Joshua Michael Irwin and Ray Tesi on an excellent fan film. The cast was great and the character of Decker was well played. Every Captain has second thoughts of whether or not they did the right thing.
AWESOME.. AWESOME.. AWESOME. This has to be my favorite "Tales" yet!.. Script was just stellar.. LOVED how the writer incorporated so many aspects from the "Doomsday Machine" into the action. Everything flowed. Acting was excellent. The actor who played Commodore Decker and Science Officer Masada were just so ON TARGET it was mind blowing. We never saw Masada on the original show, but that actor brought him to life. Decker was again, just so ON IT!.. GREAT CHOICE in casting, line delivery, emotion, great direction, and the shots were just so TREK that it made me speechless while watching. I could have just written AWESOME like 50 times on this review and it'd be fitting. GREAT work TALES and AVALON TEAM!
I'd like to thank the people who made this. Supreme effort and done for the love of Trek with no profit involved. I say 8:13 was the stand-out moment and the actors played it magnificently. In their final scene, I cared more about the science officer and Natalie than anyone on DISCOVERY over several seasons. Thanks for posting this!
This is great thanks so much for posting this. The Dooms Day Machine is one of my favorite Star Trek episodes it's cool that some one showed us what must have transpired on the USS Constellation during their encounter with the planet killer. Well done.
Thank You for providing a big piece of information and story line that was always missing from the doomsday episode. I always felt that this should have been a two part episode explaining the loss of the U.S.S Constitution and her crew.
The amount of work that goes into something like this is significant. It was highly entertaining. My favorite character was the excitable helmsman--because you can feel she was giving the performance her full effort. Great job on giving the print a slightly washed-out television feel.
Even as an NCO I know not to send my crew to a planet that will, in all likelihood, be eaten by the planet killer. Not a good move especially for a flag officer.
Thank you for filling in the blanks. "The Doomsday Machine" was always my favorite TOS episode, and your prequel fits seamlessly, in my view. Keep up the good work 👏.
Always enjoyed the TOS: The Doomsday Machine. This was very much a copy of that episode using different characters. How could someone as experienced as Commodore Decker make such a HUGE mistake as to beam his crew down to a planet that is the next main course for the machine. His entire command staff just followed him off the cliff…
If Paramount paid as much fan service and obeying canon, then people would watch their shows. This is far more enjoyable than anything they've put out.
At the beginning the guy comes up the elevator looking like hes one step away from a mental breakdown and then puts on a front in front of his crew when he gets off lol.
this was very good thank you to all involved for making it hope to see more of these maybe one for the tholian web to see the crew of the defiant go mad from the interphase
Doomsday Machine was my all time favorite episode. Going forward, I tend to be a nitpicker. I saw little flaws here but it never got in the way of presenting an emotional episode. The bridge set is outstanding, and the uniforms well done with some exceptions. Hailing the crew as "Captain" and not "Commodore" threw me off but watching what happened to the brave crew of the Constellation was pretty sad. I knew Decker pretty much lost it once onboard Enterprise but this showed some signs of loss of control before that and I think he would have kept his cool throughout the battle as experienced he should have been. I think he lost it after the loss of his crew but not beforehand. Anyway, great episode. Congrats to both cast and crew.

That's amazing! Perhaps the best technical ST fan film I've seen in 55 years.
They did a good job, we finally get to see what leads up to one of the best TOS episodes. Some May nitpick but this fan says their efforts were Satisfactory (as Sarak would put it).
Phasers set on fun. A noble effort, indeed.
Seriously, these fans are far better actors than the crap CBS is putting out. And that includes PeeHard.
On par with Star Trek Continues.
Doomsday machine vs Borg cubes….now that would be a great showdown.
I recommend you check out the novel "Vendetta" by Peter David..
This was an awesome production by fans who did a bloody good job of acting. It was much condensed for reasons that are obvious, but it represents hours of combat of the Constellation against the Doomsday Machine. This is the stuff my siblings and our gang in the neighborhood dreamed about.
Everyone was great in this but the science officer was superb , he could be in a star trek show....Natural actor
Probably the most wanted and best prequel concept to a TOS episode ever. Bravo.
Fantastic job! Sets looked right (even the Jeffries Tube got a shot). Star Trek still has miles of stories, but only the fans know how to write them.
Hi jut watched your stream great job love all the smoke 😊😊
Excellent!! A first class prequel to the original The Doomsday Machine!! 🚀
"Decker to bridge!"
"Ah... dude... afraid it ain't there no more."
Excellent Storytelling Behind 1 of The Greatest Episodes of the Original Star Trek Series!! Take Care, Stay Safe, & Continue to Live Long & Prosper.
Clever story, filling the gap from the original series. Well done!
Same with the Jupiter 2 of Lost in Space -- those artificial gravity generators are always the last to go!!
I really like the attention to detail you all gave on this... the set, the cinematic style, costumes, but especially continuity. Just very well done 🖖
Very nice job, you could feel the desperation of the situation. Nice touch with the end adding the arrival of Kirk and the Enterprise.
To the Captain, officers and crew of the U.S.S. CONSTELLATION NCC-1017…….rest in peace, your sacrifice to the United Federation of Planets and all life forms will never be forgotten.🖖🖖
Get a life 😄
Great story, good job people, Masada really rocked the science station. Hats off for an all around enjoyable film. Thank you.
Nice... a view into the world of the constellation to show what happened to it before the Enterprise arrived and found her adrift as they did in the episode the Doomsday Machine Doomsday Machine is still my favorite episode from the original series this is fantastic work
This gives you an appreciation of how tough Constitution class ships were.
That caught me, I cried for the crew on board and planet side. Tales from the Neutral Zone: Doomsday is an amazing slice a TOS
Incredible job with this prequel to the Doomsday Machine.
This honored one of THE best episodes of The Original Series. Good job by all involved. I don't recall other attempts to tell this specific story before. A quite plausible interpretation. Soundtrack was seriously put to good effect. A nice gift for First Contact Day.
Finally, the prequel to one of my very favorite Star Trek episodes. Thank you!
My questions always been if you know it destroys planets why poke the bear! Great little fan film though!
Thank you. This gave the ship and crew the story they deserved.
When the Enterprise found the Constellation and they were in Engineering, one of the guys said the exact same thing about the anti matter being deactivated. Word for word. Kirk, Scotty and a couple of his engineering crew came. Later they found Decker.
well this definitely filled in gaps.
Well done to Joshua Michael Irwin and Ray Tesi on an excellent fan film. The cast was great and the character of Decker was well played. Every Captain has second thoughts of whether or not they did the right thing.
It's always sad watching a story when you know how it has to end. Well done. Very faithful to the episode.
I thoroughly enjoyed this backstory to the Doomsday machine.
I always felt that this was a two-part story, and we only viewed the second part, Thank you to the cast and crew for completing the story! LLAP!
It's a three part story

Decker Survived.
@@itsmeekers Are you referring to "In Harm's Way"?
@@nelipotfootfree yes
@@nelipotfootfree Technically he died before before he commanded the Constellation I'd guess.
Just come across this. It's a breathe of fresh air. The thing is somthing we'll never know about, but we should know. Nicely done.
Wow, Matt Decker's loss finally visualized for us. I'd probably go crazy too. That's a great tie in!
It’s all good, it’s Star Trek.
Very well done! Everything about this was excellent. One of the most enjoyable fan films in a long time.
Well done!!!!!! 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Holy Moley! A prequel to one of my favorite episodes. Outstanding attention to detail! Well done!! This video is going in my Season Two folder !
Very well done prequel minisode for The Doomsday Machine. Thank you, Avalon Fan Films. 🖖🏻🖖🏼🖖🏽🖖🏾🖖🏿

Thanks Gary! Excited for the new episodes of Dreadnought!
You nerds did a great job ....
This crew is better than than anyone on Discovery
This is the way to do a prequel! Fleshing out a gap on an already compelling story.
I would have named it, 'Day Before Doomsday". Excellent job!
Thanks for a great addition to my favorite Star Trek Episode period.
Most excellent pre-call
Thank you David!
excellent choice to tell this part of the story.
Thank you for the story never told. You are true Star Trek creators and fans!
Well done...I enjoyed the story of the last hours of the Constellation's crew.
Great job everyone!
Glad someone did this! Was with a group working on then when the Axanar thing blew up and it shut down. Well done y'all.

That was damn good. I was disappointed when it ended. 🤩

Stunning work everyone
So THATS how it all happened!
That was a Nice touch to show the Enterprise coming into view. And this illustrates why Decker went a bit mad while aboard the Enterprise. Well done.
Congratulations to you all bringing it together and getting it released for us to enjoy which I do, great job by all
Ten out of ten. Well done indeed!

So, prequel to Doomsday Machine? Nice.;-)
Great concept. Excellent effort. Thanks for your hard work...!!!
Even as an NCO I know not to send my crew to a planet that will, in all likelihood, be eaten by the planet killer. Not a good move especially for a flag officer.
Capt. Nepotism 😂
You won't find any better in the Pentagram these days. 😢😢😢
Great story, great acting. 10/10 stars
A great prequel to "The Doomsday Machine"!
Great job congrats to all who work on it
Thank you for filling in the blanks. "The Doomsday Machine" was always my favorite TOS episode, and your prequel fits seamlessly, in my view. Keep up the good work 👏.
Kinda amazing prelude to the TOS Doomsday Device Episode!
Great Prequel to "The Doomsday Machine"!
OK, watching the navigator turn and look back at the captain just like Sulu did in so many re-used shots was awesome. Nice touch!
That was great!😆
The things that make a man, can still break a man. Thanks for bringing this story forward. 🖖
That was friggin rad thank you for making this!
Thank you Josh for your amazing help in making this happen
Thanks for your hard work Drew! Can't wait to do this again with you guys!
Very nicely done and a good nod to a great episode of Star Trek.
Way better than the garbage Paramount is putting out 😢

Only in Hollywood 😂😂
well done and thanks for the hard work. I quite enjoyed the show.
Great job!
This was superb! It's about time this half of the story was told.
If Paramount paid as much fan service and obeying canon, then people would watch their shows. This is far more enjoyable than anything they've put out.
The clowns aren't happy until thay defecate on things from a height. Goes double for JJ Abrams . May he rot in Sto-vo-cor 🤬
I would LOVE to be in one of these. I like it!!
'its miles long'. Then readout states 2700 meters which is not even 2 miles.
Well done crew!
TDM I’d my favorite TOS episode. You did honor to the series and the story line.
That was beyond exquisite!
RIP crew of the Constellation. Sad but powerful story.
Great video that brings to life the events that lead up to the classic Doomsday Episode!!!! Thank you!!!!
Well done. Ya’ll kept to the story and made it real. Keep it up!!!
Very well done. Thank you
So exciting!
Great work! A really good job telling this story of what actually happened.
I always felt like the episode doomsday machine was like walking in the middle of a movie, it's good to finally see the first half.
Doomsday Machine was my all time favorite episode. Going forward, I tend to be a nitpicker. I saw little flaws here but it never got in the way of presenting an emotional episode. Love and support from Finland.
Thank you very much 🙏
Can't imagine what the crew was seeing in the sky during the final moments. Probably similar to the scene in Rogue One, only WORSE...
Shivers....VERY TRUE!
Just wish it was longer but, blame that on CBS/Paramount. I prefer watching this than watching any Discovery episode.
A root canal and a digital prostate exam is preferable to watching Discovery.
I've been binging this stuff for the last few hours and to be honest, with the budget you have this shit is amazing!
