The oc mission helped me years ago. I was in the program in Santa Ana. That location isn't there anymore. I was also at the horse ranch. That was awesome. They do a lot of good. The mission gave me tools for life and a better understanding of Christianity. They do not shove a message down your throat. I'm sure my pastors have moved on. I really learned a lot from Mike. Thom Helmick is great. He recently published a book and has a youtube channel.

Community & Friendship is what I need most of all. Nobody can live completely alone these days. Alone is not in our nature. Stronger together, hope to be with everyone soon.

You definitely find that at the Mission. The double rr horse ranch is amazing.

Wow. What an incredible blessing! ...And to think that some ppl have the nerve to say that churches/Christians don't do anything to help ppl!

I’m not religious but I did attend CUI and UCI for my undergrad (sooo many years ago) and spent time volunteering with the elementary school kids here. It’s a great program. The people there are amazing, both residents and staff. I will always look back at that time with a warm heart and I’m glad to see that they are still doing so well.
    With that being said…
I wish they wouldn’t rely so heavily on proselytizing to residents as they may be able to help many more of those in need. The very strong Christian based religious requirement to become a part of the program that is presented in this video can be off putting to some. I was a tutor there, my Muslim best friend was a tutor there. It’s an open space and all are welcome (or all were welcome during our time there) I’d like to see that with “open arms” idea represented here. No one should be passed by because of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Hopefully they will update their branding
