MaxxAir Fan Repair on our Casita Travel Trailer

Our automatic MaxxAir 7000k vent fan in our Casita was broken! I had to replace the cracked gear mechanism with a new one that I purchased from Panther RV Products. I give step by step instructions on what I did to fix the problem.

Nicely done video, and informative with realistic commentary about what may typically happen during any repair (loosing parts, which you didn’t…). Unfortunately this video came a bit late for me, and I just paid wayyyy too much to have the fan replaced ($700+ vs. the $20 gear box replacement 😢). I’m ready for this repair next time, thanks to you!

Great video! Had to replace mine recently as well. The gear case was shattered like yours. Very cheap pot metal type case. Needs to be a more robust metal housing considering how much these fans cost. Thanks!

The automatic ones are really nice especially if you're laying in bed, since they come with a remote!
