You don't violate anything when tearing down a MCG grip. VKB sends out buttons so you can change the color to your liking that require you to disassemble the grip to swap all of them.
You have no idea how this "professionalism" translates in terms if Electro Magnetic COmpatibility. Let's just say the VKB was designed at the Master's level and the Virpil at the Sophomore level.
You are doing God's work. I must admit, the VKB gear looks amazingly well finished inside (and out), compared to pretty much anything else in the market.
Not sure I want to search for "noobifier exposed". It sounds like you are trying to trick me into visiting your "adult content" website. :) J/k. Love the tear down videos. Keep them coming
I had the same thought. A few years ago I told a friend of mine about a species of chicken that is totally black, all over. She image-googled "black cock" and blamed me for the result she got.
Question about the flip trigger: 2:25. My magnetic flip trigger switch has stopped working (the flip up / down no longer registers). Any idea what the issue could be or how to fix it? I don't see any hall effect sensors or anything like that.
It would literally take 15-20 photos on a page of the main website. You're exactly right, it's like buying tooling. If I saw something like this, I'dve purchased it far sooner...
Dan Willhite yeah, I can agree to that. But at least there were photos of internals on reddit and their own forum :). It’s just that VKB are way more into engineering than marketing. IMO, it’s better to quietly do great product, than to give huge claims and not stand by them in the end. Like with Warthog.
noob would a VKB grip fit the Virpil base?? looking for options here. i dug in deep during virpil sale and bought CM2 grip the base AND the throttle but grip sold out as i hit check out :/ still finished getting the base and throttle but looking at worst case options if i cant get ahold of a grip. dont say Delta cause im not a fan of all the hat switches.. also i left a good rep for you with their support team about the great work u do promoting the product and giving such NO BS reveiws lol if not for you i wouldnt ever consider spending soooo much on sticks :)
Nice, I watched the Virpil tear-down first but this one is very interesting too. At this point I'm really looking for a high quality left hand stick to improve my current dual stick configuration. I'm currently using a Thrustmaster T-1600 as my left stick. The slider and other buttons located on the base of the T-1600 are not very efficient while flying dual stick.
Hey NOOB, which grips would you recommend for small hands? Also, for Star Citizen or other Space Sims, I know you do not have yet the Kosmosima but would you recommend 2 Kosmosima or 1 one Kosmosima for the Z axis and a regular MCG for the other hand? Thanks.
How do you remove the top right grey button (LVLING)? For the life of me I can't figure it out. My stick came with a spare black colored one and I would love to swap it.
@@NOOBIFIER1337 I just realized that it 100% can't be pulled out without taking the stick apart. You have to pull it out the other way (from within the stick). Thanks for the quick reply though.
It would have been nice to know what kind of plastic it is made from. Usually plastics are marked to indicate the type used. Are the pots Hall Effect? If so, are they digital or analog?
The VKB is the best electronics design of the #EXPOSED series from an EMC perspective, as well maintainability for layout. You should give it 10 as even the Warthog is inferior.
While designed to be extremely robust with high quality components the stick grip of a real F15 C/D model does not meet most computer Sim expectations as far as internal cleanliness is concerned. Plenty of soldered wires to the switches with potting compound to support them in place. Much like the hot glue on soldered PCBs in Virpil/TM sticks. I believe that the Sim standard for visual internal cleanliness excedes utilitarian requirements for the device. Based on your rating system the F15 Stick grip would get a 3 maybe 4 for the catagory of internal electronics and would likely be indicted by the entire Sim community as a poor design. Great review!
I can say with confidence that over time, say in 6-7 years, the plastic risers housing those spined brass screw capture nuts (threaded metal anchor) will fail. The plastic holding them in place 'dries out' or shrinks and then they crack and no longer can hold the tension of the screw leading to a loss of clamping pressure. The solution to this is expensive if you don't want to be replacing the casing at all. Otherwise, the overall design looks sound.
I agree. Not as easily repairable if someone over torques the screw and breaks the insert loose. On an all plastic hole if they get stripped it's an easy fix with some proper epoxy.
@@NOOBIFIER1337 but I recommend you not researching online to capture your genuine reaction. I saw few teardown pictures online and I will not comment on it now 🤐🤐
I've watched all your #Exposed series, and this seems to be the best internally. But one last grip remains, the Alpha. When are you gonna #EXPOSED the Alpha?.
I will not expose it, it is too pretty and difficult to get. I have access to all of the sticks and gimbals. My daily set is Alpha and I am trying to order a second set... that IMO should be enough of an indicator weather or not Alpha is good.
To clarify, I am ordering a second set as a spare set for the MTX sim rig... I have no plan to expose the Alpha. I like them too much and wouldn’t want to break this grip.
Nice video. Yeah, that does look really good on the inside. I'm glad I decided to wait for VKB. Oh, I just got my Kosmosima today! Woot!

Looks great. Just looks more professionally designed than the Virpil in your other review. Bring me Kosmosima!

Whoever designs the internals at VKB clearly loves the work. Great video!
I wish more people could be as professional as this.
Thanks Noobifier! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest, great job!
I liked the grippy-ness of this grip and the lower button height for the thumb button/toggles.
3 year old video still giving value. Thanks Noob.
Excellent! I wish manufacturers would sell their products like this...
It's not a mass-market product, so marketing is also handled differently here. It's more like choosing industrial machinery or tooling.

The new VirPil WARBRD Grip is small
Same for VKB Kosmosima. It's also quite a bit smaller than MCG.

Upvoted as usual, you're doing really a good job with the Exposed Video! And MCG Pro Grip seems to be a really solid choice for a Right Hand Stick.

@@NOOBIFIER1337 You did say what kind of plastic was used in the video. Sorry about that.
Duane Degn believe the sensors are MARS. Being a square wave, it would be a digital signal interpreted by a processor.

R.I.P. warrantys
VKB does NOT void your warranty for disassembling their products. Instead, they are meant to be disassembled for service/customization.
That was probably a joke
TheNOOBIFIER1337 jap ;)
your math is not too great...or they are not based on 10, but then why even offer 10 as an option. Thus 9 is the absolute best
10 is reserved for the future if there is a remarkable product
Exactly, better have headroom as there is no such thing as perfect 10, until someone does close to it like 9.5.
So it’s a score out of 45. How hard is that.
So wheres the new VKB ULTIMATE Review?! I just got mine in the mail last week. SOunds like it will be all 10's according to this review!
